There is no need for evolution to have a deity to be considered a religion this is Webster's Dictionary Online definition of religion:

Main Entry: re·li·gion

1 a: the state of a religious <a nun in her 20th year of religion> b (1): the service and worship of God or the supernatural (2): commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance
2: a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices
3archaic : scrupulous conformity : conscientiousness
4: a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith

If you notice definition number 4 does not mention or include a deity as a prerequisite to be a religion. Evolutionists have dogmatically held to their system of belief even when evidence does not support their beliefs.

I've always felt that the newer Star Wars films are utterly lacking in storyline, depth and creativity. The original movies, volumes 4, 5 and 6, on the other hand are rife with metaphor and meaning, substance and depth. Yet there are quite a few fans out there who believe the opposite, that the new Star Wars films far outshine the older ones from the 70's and 80's. They hold to this stance with "ardor and faith". No deities. Therefore, this is their religion (according to good ol' Webster -- in fact I'm confident that's exactly what Webster meant when he put that definition of the word in there).

At any rate, it's a good thing we have freedom of religion in America because if people weren't allowed to practice religion in the United States I sure bet the religion of the-newer-Star-Wars-films-are-way-cooler-than-the-older-ones-are would probably be the first faith to be ousted from existence, followed closely by the Batman-One-is-better-than-all-the-rest religion and the I-think-the-color-blue-is-nicer-than-the-color-red relgion. Oh, I suppose somewhere along the line they might decide to ban "religions" like Islam, Hinduism, Christianity and even my faith, but those don't fall under category 4, so, you know...

Thanks for the clarification on the definition of religion, I completely get where you're coming from now.
