I was thinking about this lately. I have 11 amalgan, some of them very large. Lately I'm feeling quite badly, and my amalgams burn like hell. I'm in a detoxing plan and it will take at least a month to be clean enough to try an amalgam removal. When I'll go to remove them I suppose that it will produce a lot of vapor and poison, possibly poisoning me despite all the stuff I'd have used to protect me. Well, I was thinking in removing some of my teeth with amalgams, at least the biggest ones, the ones that are touching my gums. I suppose that if you remove your teeth you won't get poisoned, isn't it? Is there any disadvantage in removing your teeth, appart from losing your teeth of course?
Any advice about this?

I don't remember who it was, but there was someone on here that had their teeth removed (oh gosh my memory is terrible) in lieu of having their fillings replaced, maybe they can chime in, but yes, I think if the teeth are completely gone, all you have to do is detox. My mother has told me it would be easier, and less expensive to just get them all pulled out...but the dentist seems to think I can save them. I did have one pulled over a year ago, that had amalgam in it, because it was getting decayed, and I just couldn't take the pain anymore. The pain meds and anitbiotics didn't help enough for me to wait 3 weeks out for an appt for a root canal, and I didn't want one anyway, with a dentist that doesn't "believe" in mercury poisoning, so I just opted to have it pulled. If I smile really big you can see it, and it looks terrible, and eventually I will have to have a bridge. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Hi sergio,

I'm not sure I'd so quickly opt for extraction, unless you have a root canal there or there is more amalgam than tooth...

If that is the case? and you want to get some removed for that reason? Then make sure you get a biologic dentist to do this and request a NON vaso constrictor, (non epinephrine) local anaesthetic. The reason being. Vaso constrictors restrict blood flow to the area and are apparently a cause or contributing factor to the development of cavitations (which is when health bone growth fails to fill in the area after the tooth has been removed).

They are used in anaesthetics to apparently increase the effectiveness and prolong the numbing. I, personally have not found this to be the case and instead found them worse, plus they cause adverse responses in me (palpitations) and of course decrease necessary blood flow to the area and contribute to dead teeth. So yes, I bleieve they hinder healing after tooth extraction.

Also, ask that the peridontal ligament be removed as well as the tooth. Many dentists leave the periodontal ligament there, and they should remove it. It is also a cause or contributing factor in cavitations.

The problem with cavitations is that where there is a lack of healthy bone growth, potent gram negative bacteria flourish and if a person's immunity is compromised in anyway, then the immune system may not be able to defend itself and keep the bacteria in check. It may then become systemic and cause it's own toxicity, often worse apparently than mercury.

Then you have to make sure you take care of the extraction site so that infection does not develop there. All these things should be observed if you want to reduce the risk for cavitations after tooth extraction. Tooth extraction commonly causes cavitations, but it's usually the immune compromised who seem to get affected more.

So with that in mind, it's up to you if you wish to do that. I always feel it's wise to warn people in case. better to be a bit overcautious than not.

Here is my curse:

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v221/turmoiler/intoxication/radiografia-marcada.jpg">

numbers 2,3,5,6,10 and 11 touch the gums
in numbers 2,5,6 and 11 there are more amalgam than tooth.

I was thinking about removing 2, 5, 6 and 11

What do you think?

I have also read somewhere than before any dental work I have to have my adrennals and thiroids ok ¿How can I know if my adrennals and thiroids aren't ok?¿How can I support them?

Hi there
I had the last four pulled and it was only because I was already so sick I just did not want to take the risk of the vapor. Also when my dentist got in there he was the one that made the final decision because of my peridontal disease. apparently my gums were in really bad shape surrounding these teeth. He did take great care with me in cleaning out all that gunk and the ligamint as Bex had told you. BTW I think having the amalgams is what caused my peridontal disease...I have always taken very good care of my teeth and gums. Since I have gotten rid of the amalgams my gums are looking pretty and pink again like I remember them to be when I was young. Also my teeth are not so loose now as well as my gums look like they are coming back up around the remaining teeth.

I had them taken out too, pretty much the same ones you indicate, i am missing four teeth.

I am really glad they are gone. I am really glad i did not rush in to try to fix them. maybe at some point I will get a retainer or something in there, but it can wait.

you get used to them being gone, chewing is a bit different fom then onward but it sure beats chewing with amalgam.

make sure the dentists removes the ligament, make sure you do the salt water rinse starting that evening (very gently the first day) before bed, and for all the next week or so... and the day after they extract the teeth take a q-tip soaked in hydrogen peroxide and gently dab it on the wounds to make sure infection stays away. do that once a day for a few days till they heal over.

I had 2 pulled and 2 cut out, oral surgery fashion. I much prefer the scond way, the cutting them out. there was no pain after, no worry about jaw damage. the dentist was real careful, he did a small incision in the teeth, and lifted the amalgam straight out without ever cutting into it prior to pulling the teeth. Then he sort of sliced the tooth in half and voila it pretty much just falls out at that point. took about 3-5 minutes each.

Hi skies, hope the family is well.

i got 4 teeth removed with amalgam and left 2 in, so now i have only 2 bottom right molars for chewing.
The rest of my back teeth were pulled over the years.
Now i wish i hadnt got the bottom 2 removed, the top 2 were root canals so they had to go.
i need dentures now for one quadrant at the top and a splint, my dentist says my jaw is out of line due to missing teeth.
i get alot of headaches and earaches, he says these symptoms are caused by my jaw being out of line, he even says my tinnitus will go when its all done.

Hello thanks for the responses,

But I'm concerned about the adrennal and thiroids issue. How can I know if they are ok? How can I support them?

Hi Sergio, I viewed your xray and frankly I thought the worst one was number 10...but even then I think you need to show this xray and discuss this with a biologic dentist and ask them.

We're not qualified to tell you exactly what to do, but we can make suggestions. I would not be too quick to pull them out if they can undergo proper amalgam replacement from a good dentist. Unless the structure of some of those teeth would be far too weakened to bother and the dentist should be able to tell you that.

I would take it stage by stage. One quadrant at a time perhaps. And see how it goes. But definitely discuss this with a good bio dentist and have them talk with you over the xray you've got.

They may also mention possible root canals to save any teeth they feel maybe too far gone. Well there is a lot of problems with them apparently, as being potentially extremely toxic, especally to someone already poisoned or immune compromised. The toxins from root canals and cavitations, according to Hal Huggins can be worse than mercury.

Though there is supposedly a new and biocompatible way of doing root canals. A dentist in my country did not used to do root canals for the reasons above, but appears to be doing them now because of this more bicompatible way of doing them. And he's extremely thorough and well versed in dental biocompatibility and health. One of the best in the country. I'll give you the link to check it out. Just so you know your options a bit more. It's a hard decison to make. If in fact you find out that one or more of your teeth are too far gone and require either extraction or root canal, you should know more about them before proceeding. Just in case it ever comes to making such a decison.

http://www.integrativedentalmedicine.com/RCTtox.html

I would hope that each and every one of your teeth, though obviously pretty deep cavities, will be able to undergo amalgam replacement with no issues. For deep cavities, usually ceramic (like cerec) is the better option. But it's expensive. However, it eliminates the need for a crown apparently and they last almost a lifetime. Composites (depending on what kind), may not be the best option for deep cavities, although they're always improving on them and the strength, so it's possible they have ones that are more suitable for that.

As for adrenals and thyroid? Good food, good fats, celtic sea salt (quarter teaspoon or so mixed in water or even a vitamin drink, 2-3 times a day), adding uncontaminated kelp (for iodine, which is good for the thyroid, (plus has other minerals and is good for adrenals also apparently). And/or other sources of iodine as mention in the other post. Licorice (no added sugar), e.g. licorice tea (adrenals). Ginseng, supposedly good for adrenals.

Maybe this article will be of some help to you regarding adrenals:

Adrenal Fatigue

Adrenal Fatigue is a condition in which the adrenal glands are exhausted and symptoms such as fatigue, depression and low blood pressure are experienced (see symptom list below). The adrenal glands normal function is to respond and deal with stress, manufacturing and secreting hormones such as cortisol, DHEA, noradrenaline and adrenaline. When too much stress long-term, be it emotional (eg. work stress, divorce, a death of a loved one, constant financial stress) or physical (eg. chronic illness, over-exercising, alcohol or substance abuse, sleep deprivation), is put on an individuals adrenal glands, the organ may not be able to keep up with the constant pressure. Some individuals find that the stress has an effect on them over the long-term, they become tied and unable to deal with stress gradually. Others however, may have a sudden change in health from one day to the next; a ‘break-down’ in health is experienced.

Symptoms of Adrenal Fatigue include
• allergies
• anxiety
• brain fog
• chronic fatigue syndrome
• depression
• fatigue
• fibromyalgia
• flu-like symptoms
• inability to deal with stress
• low blood pressure
• nervousness
• premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
• salt and sweet cravings
• sleep disorders
• trouble getting up in the morning
Treating Adrenal Fatigue
There is no magic pill for Adrenal Fatigue. Healing from adrenal fatigue requires a combination of things; first and foremost, recovery depends upon the patient’s lifestyle. How they spend their energy, how they conserve their energy, and how they create energy are all extremely important. The patient’s recovery is also contingent on what they eat and drink, as well as the thoughts they feed their mind and the beliefs they base their life on. In addition, patients with adrenal fatigue often have food allergies or sensitivities. However, there are nutritional supplements and natural hormones that can aid in the recovery process.

The following information is an outline of issues that should be considered when treating adrenal fatigue syndrome.

a) Lifestyle
• eliminate the cause and aggravating factors of the disease!
• get rid of energy robbing situations in their life
• learn to stop negative self-talk
• relax
• laugh
• exercise (regular not excessive)

b) Diet
• people with adrenal fatigue tend to also have low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
• eat natural, high quality food at frequent, regular intervals
• eat foods with a low glycaemic index
• keep the consumption of fruit to a minimum
• avoid caffeine, alcohol and refined carbohydrates
• if patients crave chocolate, supplement them with magnesium
• chew food deliberately and slowly
• eat before 10.00am, even if they don’t feel like it (Cortisol levels peak between 6.00 and 8.00 AM and while the cortisol levels are higher, they may not feel like eating. In addition, the low liver function that often accompanies low adrenal function also suppresses early morning hunger)
• eat lunch before noon and a nutritious snack between 2.00 and 3.00 PM to sustain the patient through the dip in cortisol levels that typically occurs between 3.00 and 4.00 PM in most hypoadrenics. The evening meal should be eaten around 5.00 or 6.00 PM. Before bed eat a couple of bites of a high quality snack.
• eat/drink salt: Salt craving is a common symptom in all stages of adrenal fatigue and there are physiological reasons for this. Adrenal fatigue patients often have low blood pressure
• water poses a specific problem for people with adrenal fatigue because they tend toward dehydration but can easily over dilute the circulating electrolytes in their blood
• therefore although they are often thirsty, drinking water may make them feel worse
• to help balance the ratio of water to sodium and avoid this problem try adding ¼ to ½ teaspoon salt to every glass of drinking water
• drinking salted water just after the patient wakes can help them to function better in the morning
• drinking salted water before sleeping or when waking in the night can also help sleep

c) Food Allergies and Sensitivities
• the adrenal gland plays an important role in mediating the histamine release and inflammatory reactions that produce the symptoms experienced with allergies. Therefore eliminating foods that patients are allergic or sensitive to is the best and easiest way to decrease the demands on their struggling adrenals
• food that patients are addicted to or crave (but feel worse after consuming), are often the foods that they have a sensitivity to
• environmental toxins can also increase adrenal fatigue
• the IgG food allergy panel offered by Pathlab (through PCNZ), may be useful in identifying food sensitivities

d) Possible Nutritional and Herbal Supplements
• Adrenal Support: As a rule (based on an individuals response) building the patient up to 4 to 6 capsules daily from 3 daily in divided doses should be considered for the moderately to severe adrenal fatigued individual - with a potential to titrate back to two daily depending upon symptoms and life demands
• Multivitamin and Mineral Boost: 5 g daily in water
• Vitamin C: 2-4 g daily in water
• Magnesium Aspartate: 3 x 125 mg capsules daily
• Vitamin B5: 500mg 1 x capsule 3 x daily
• Calcium Citrate: 750-1000 mg daily
• Vitamin E (natural): 1 x 500 IU capsules daily (if you are on blood thinners monitor blood clotting time)

e) Adrenal Cell Extracts
• adrenal cell extracts nourish and help rebuild the adrenal cells
• for more information see www.adrenalfatigue.org

f) Replacement Hormones
• in severe cases of hypoadrenia, a short therapeutic course of natural cortisol may be needed
• DHEA is one of the androgen hormones secreted by the adrenal glands. Progesterone and pregnenolone hormones are also manufactured in the adrenal cascade as well as in the ovaries and testicles. Patients may benefit from DHEA, progesterone and/or pregnenolone supplementation.

This is a tough one. Here is a link to a site on thyroid and adrenals. This has helped me alot. There is a temp chart on there and tells you what to do and then you can tell if the supps you are taking are helping the adrenals and or thyroid. My adrenals are still suffering and I think that is why I am still having sugar cravings and I am supplementing both adrenals and thyroid. I have gotten my temp to come up just a bit but you can see on some days it is worse. I think this also has alot to do with all the detox too. If I have been detoxing for a few days then I have a rough day you can see a drop in temp. Really weird but this has worked for me and until i started keeping the temp graph was not making any headway or at least that is how it looks to me.

Not really sure I buy that... I was told the same thing when my jaw hurt like heck and all the teeth in my mouth too, by a 4-5 different dentists while I was still in the midst of EDTA IV chelation only, then after several DMPS IV's all of that went away so obviously my jaw was not out of line .

From my experience dentists will never ever tell you mercury is embedded in your gums and jawbone causing your jaw and teeth to ache, even the biologocal dentist would not admit that to me but it was obviously the case.

Cilantro helped my mouth feel better too. my mouth now feels great. I did get a leaky molar extractyed in the process which helped too. My teeth had always felt fine till the dumb dumb dentist did the unneeded root canal and filled the darn thing with mercury. It was downhill quickly from there not to mention the next dentist that drilled an amalgam down instead of cutting it out.

which altogether is why I could barely walk. But the dmps cured it.

I have TMJ, and my jaw is so messed up, it's insane. The first dentist I saw did admit that the mercury had messed up my teeth, which in turn caused problems with my jaw, especially because of the metal that got drilled into my jawbone, via root canal. The dentist I am seeing now, told me this morning, that he doesn't even want to begin to address the jaw problems, until the amalgam is removed and the teeth fixed. He said sometimes that will alter my bite, and I may not have many or any problems at all once the teeth are fixed. Reading between the lines, I am thinking he is saying he wants to see how I feel/react with the mercury out, to see if it cures my jaw problems.

so sick,i know what you mean, Bex said the same thing, and Tracy knows of someone who spent thousands of pounds on treatment but was still not right.
I have been chelating for well over a year, prob about 18mths, i would have thought at least the tinnitus would go.
Anyway, i got this info online about exercises that divers do, basically you hold your nose, breath out slightly and then swallow, i did these for the last 2 wks and my headaches, earaches have gone, tinnitus has gone down so much can hardly hear it.my probs could be my eustachion tubes not working properly, nothing to do with mercury.
The thing is, i can only open my mouth 22mm,if i need dental treatment im stuffed which is why i need treatment from this TMJ dentist, he is now saying, all i need is a small denture at top and a splint.
