Hi. I bought a memory foam mattress from sealy. It was pretty much the same as tempurpedic. Oh my god, the smell was horrible! I thought maybe it was the plastic cover on it, so I tried to air it out. Air filter going 24 hours, I kept the window open as much as possible, put a allergen cover on it with a mattress pad on top of that.... It still smelled like chemicals and I felt terrible. I still had the mercury and yeast at the time. I really think it hurt my adrenals bad, because i was worse after that. outgassed petrochemical exposure or something like that. I was able to trade it in for another mattress, with only loosing about $200 from the shipping cost and other expenses. I don't know to much about the latex. I just avoided that because I have a latex sensitivity.
Now I have a mattress with a just a memory foam top that is underneath a quilted top. No smell at all. I love it.
