hi everyone! i have had many many silver fillings since i was a small child and once my baby teeth fell out, i continued to have cavities so that i ended up with 13 fillings at the age of 21. i am now 26 years old. i also had many problems throughout my teens, such as lack of appetite, shyness, anxiety, exzema. when i was in my early 20's, i developed worse symptoms, such as tingling, twitching, vibrating in my limbs, insomnia, acne, depression, anxiety and social withdrawal. i also started abusing alcohol and marihuana regularly. i was always aware of the mercury in my fillings and started researching the issue a few years ago. since it seemed to be likely to be the cause for my symptoms, i decided to get them out. last summer i replaced 6 of the 13 fillings without any special precautions. over the last year my skin got worse and my emotional instability got worse, but then i removed the last 7 fillings in germany, where some precautions were used (eg rubber dam) and my skin has improved since then. last week i took a DMPS challenge test with an integrated doctor, and will get the results in 2 weeks. does anyone have experience with DMPS and has it improved their symptoms? i have read some scare stories about DMPS, but did not have any side effects from the test myself. the doctor said i could either detox using DMPS or nutritional ways, such as taking chlorella etc hope someone can enlighten me with some true accounts of detoxing. thanks! snail

You were very fortunate to not have had an adverse reaction to the DMPS challenge test. My DMPS challenge test almost drove me to suicide. Luckily someone was there to help me and stop me. These types of reactions are common with DMPS challenge tests and chelation therapies. Sometimes you could be on injection or I V number 6 and bingo something really bad could happen. I would not take that risk if I were you. The best information on treating amalgam illness, including the safe ways to chelate and how to chelate properly are found in a book by Andrew Hall Cutler, Amalgam Illness, Diagnosis and Treatment which you can buy on this site or at www.noamalgam.com (Andy's website). I am currently chelating using his protocol and am doing well with it. Before you choose a chelation protocol, I would read this book as to avoid doing any of the "dangerous and risky" things. Sandra
