Just to clarify...Gaviscon (a non-prescription, OTC heartburn medication) is NOT the same thing as the Algin (sodium alginate) we use.

According to DrugDigest.com and Medications.com, Gaviscon contains the active ingredients [color:"red"]Aluminum hydroxide [/color] (the most stable form of aluminum) and Magnesium carbonate (or Magnesium trisilicate or Calcium carbonate, depending on the formula). In addition, Gaviscon contains several inactive ingredients, one of which is Alginic acid. However, Alginic acid is chemically different than Sodium alginate (i.e. sodium alginate is the sodium salt of alginic acid). I've seen the two names used interchangeably on some websites, but this is actually not correct.

Personally, I would not take anything with Aluminum in it, due to the interaction between aluminum and mercury, as confirmed by Dr. Boyd Haley. By the way, Aluminum hydroxide is also used in some vaccines!

I've read a few posts on other forums from people who got sick right after taking Gaviscon...sounds like awful stuff.

Instead of using Gaviscon, I would suggest Stomach Comfort

As for Algin, people primarily use it to help prevent the reabsorption of mercury in the colon. This is extremely useful for those who currently have amalgam fillings, are receiving vaccinations, or who are detoxing mercury.

In our experience, 6 out of 10 mercury-toxic people who use Algin report an astounding decrease in their mercury symptoms; 3 out of 10 report small improvments; and 1 out of 10 experience some gas and/or bloating (which we believe is a side-effect of the interaction with mutated colonic flora). This interaction can be easily mitigated with Probiotics and/or Colloidal Silver.

Hope this helps clear up any confusion!
