Hi Sunflower,

I am sorry that you do not have the support there with what you've been through. I was lucky with my parents, but not so lucky with relatives. It is very hurtful when you've been through hell with amalgams and they KNOW what it's done to you and then go out and get amalgams anyway, as though somehow they doubt you.

It is really hard, but you have to be quite selfish with this illness and focus on you and focus on doing what you can to keep yourself going eachday and find ways to get better. You do not need anybody around you that is going to add to your strain. If they're not supportive, but rather negative, you don't need that. At least you know you're believed here, though I know it's not much consulation when you have to deal with this offline.

But believe in yourself, even if they dont. I know plenty of people that are struggling right now with their family and it seems to be almost an epidemic. I know that my father rents with me and helps me alot in the respect of getting things frm the supermarket etc, but when it comes to the pain? E.g. if I start to complain or I'm in a bad way, something shuts off in them. I just wind up going back to my room and keeping quiet most of the time. Very rarely do I express my pain anymore, I've almost learned not to because of this. It does no good, he just can't handle it. I've had to accept that. But it's not easy.

Well, if your Mum gets an amalgam, so be it. Her choice, her problem and she can never say nobody warned her or she wasn't informed about mercury. When people do these things, even when they are told, I have limited sympathy. It's sad, you feel helpless, but you gotta let them go eventually.

Definitely, if you find talking to someone helps, go for it. Do anything you can to support yourself, because this illness on its own, even without outside stresses can drive a person to despair. So I cannot imagine having that PLUS no support as well and cynicism. Everybody needs someone to talk to and express their pain and problem to sometimes. Bottling it up and keeping a stiff upper lip is sometimes a recipe for disaster, it tends to come out in other ways.

Don't give up, you did the right thing getting that stuff out and 4 months post removal is NOTHING. I mean healing for starters takes a long time. Plus many people's stored mercury doesn't start to dump out until later. It can happen at anytime. It took me a year or more to start dumping mercury. I should have chelated before that, because I probably would have lessened the impact from the dumping stage.

I think it's good people can come on here and talk about their pain in more ways than one, it also helps you feel like you're not alone in this.

Whatever you've got to do to get well, do it. Don't let your focus be shifted onto negative cynical people who don't believe you or are cynical of all of this. Your first loyalty right now is to YOU, your health. If you worry about what they think too much, you're doing yourself an injustice, I had to try and give that up. I got very very hurt over some comments from relatives and finally I thought stuff you, think what you want. Doesn't stop it hurting, but I just couldn't be bothered anymore. who needs that cr*p?
