My Mother has been snapping at me all week, she has been extremely irritable and I have been steering clear of her, as much as possible,we have had at least 3 really heated arguments
mostly about the facts that I am still sick, even "4 months after having my amalgams replaced" also the fact I am "always
bothering people about health issues & facts"
and that "I should never have had my flat and my parents house measured for EMF"(see "phone mast" post for details)
even though my parents both gave me permission to do this and they were there when we measured it.
My mother has a parttime stressful job and is also doing a post grad course.I figured she must have been under extra strain because she has been unusualy irritable and bothered and tired.
Well on Friday,I heard her telling my Dad that she was going to the dentist(the lovely guy who put in my 9 amalgams)
one of her amalgams had fallen out and all possibly part of the filling had lodged in between 2 of her back teeth,
for a whole week the only thing she had noticed was that there was something stuck there and she had been poking at it trying to dislodge it,but did not know all that time that it was the filling.

Aside from the fact my mother lives and sleeps in EMF (that measures off the scales)I knew something was amiss with her she really has been angry & irritable this week.
I asked her to please not get an amalgam in it's place and do you know what, even after all I've been through she still does not mind if the dentist puts an amalgam in or not.

I feel quite hurt about this, like I've been hurt & none of my family understand or acknowledge any of the facts.
I felt so upset this week,I have found a counsellor who is openminded and acknowledges all of these issues and accepts that,mercury/metals,EMF & electrical hypersensitivity
are very real and causing people alot of health problems.
I am going to try & make an appointment.I really need to talk to someone who understands.
I was trying to explain it to my Dad, who has his own problems, He is really anti-smoking so I was saying how I felt that the radiation was like smoking except worse in a way because at least you can see and smell smoke.
But my Dad ,also irritable(for as long as I remember)cannot have a normal conversation with anyone,he always leaves the room when you talk to him.Not just with me,with everyone.

sorry to hear it sunflower, but I completely share your experience and feelings. don't mean to offend yours, but some parents are a real dissapointment.

they want us to make use of their expierience as they parent us, but when u want to advice them they disregard your opinion as an adult and it's like they completely ignore your suffering. insulting.

Hello sunflower:

I know what you are talking about. What a totally frustrating time at first coming to grips with the fact that mercury poisoning is real. I remember questioning myself literally hundreds of times if it could be true. But after enough data, it becomes clear there is a bit more than "It's all in your head."

But remember that these people, especially family members, who snap at you, or anyone who attacks you, are calling for love. Strange, but true. They have their own problems confronting them. Don't force it, but maybe place mercury toxicity articles out like pictures from the sheep and monkey study - somewhere they can pick up at their leisure. They will probably get the point eventually. This is what we all need to do - spread the word with facts. Hope this helps somehow, but no matter what, you have everyone here who knows this is true.

H i sunflower, sorry about your mum. i have to say if there is one person who believes in my llness, its my mum, thankgod!
she is poisoned herself and needs her amalgams removed but cant afford it. My eldest brother believes in it too but is going to get his done by a local dentist ith not much protection.
I have had other members of my family and friends who think im mad and it really is so disheartening and adds more stress to the illness. hang in there, Dawn x

Yeah, it’s a ‘mare. I have similar problems with my old man.

I have resigned myself to having to lead by example. If I get better, he may take notice. Unlikely, but if he won’t uses his ears to listen maybe he can still use his eyes to see?

I am much better than I was.

Hi Sunflower,

I am sorry that you do not have the support there with what you've been through. I was lucky with my parents, but not so lucky with relatives. It is very hurtful when you've been through hell with amalgams and they KNOW what it's done to you and then go out and get amalgams anyway, as though somehow they doubt you.

It is really hard, but you have to be quite selfish with this illness and focus on you and focus on doing what you can to keep yourself going eachday and find ways to get better. You do not need anybody around you that is going to add to your strain. If they're not supportive, but rather negative, you don't need that. At least you know you're believed here, though I know it's not much consulation when you have to deal with this offline.

But believe in yourself, even if they dont. I know plenty of people that are struggling right now with their family and it seems to be almost an epidemic. I know that my father rents with me and helps me alot in the respect of getting things frm the supermarket etc, but when it comes to the pain? E.g. if I start to complain or I'm in a bad way, something shuts off in them. I just wind up going back to my room and keeping quiet most of the time. Very rarely do I express my pain anymore, I've almost learned not to because of this. It does no good, he just can't handle it. I've had to accept that. But it's not easy.

Well, if your Mum gets an amalgam, so be it. Her choice, her problem and she can never say nobody warned her or she wasn't informed about mercury. When people do these things, even when they are told, I have limited sympathy. It's sad, you feel helpless, but you gotta let them go eventually.

Definitely, if you find talking to someone helps, go for it. Do anything you can to support yourself, because this illness on its own, even without outside stresses can drive a person to despair. So I cannot imagine having that PLUS no support as well and cynicism. Everybody needs someone to talk to and express their pain and problem to sometimes. Bottling it up and keeping a stiff upper lip is sometimes a recipe for disaster, it tends to come out in other ways.

Don't give up, you did the right thing getting that stuff out and 4 months post removal is NOTHING. I mean healing for starters takes a long time. Plus many people's stored mercury doesn't start to dump out until later. It can happen at anytime. It took me a year or more to start dumping mercury. I should have chelated before that, because I probably would have lessened the impact from the dumping stage.

I think it's good people can come on here and talk about their pain in more ways than one, it also helps you feel like you're not alone in this.

Whatever you've got to do to get well, do it. Don't let your focus be shifted onto negative cynical people who don't believe you or are cynical of all of this. Your first loyalty right now is to YOU, your health. If you worry about what they think too much, you're doing yourself an injustice, I had to try and give that up. I got very very hurt over some comments from relatives and finally I thought stuff you, think what you want. Doesn't stop it hurting, but I just couldn't be bothered anymore. who needs that cr*p?

I can sympathize. My mom believes, but probably not to the extent that I do. She is supportive, though. She probably won't have hers taken out, I don't know. Maybe I can convince her, if she's sees it's helped me any. My dad is NOT open to this. He and step-mom have lots of metal in their mouths, and have had lots of weird health problems, off and on, but have not, and probably WILL NOT make the connection between them and mercury. I can see them, but I have my blinders off and a open mind, I wish they did.

Take care of yourself, sweetie. I know you want her to listen to you, and believe in you, but stubborn minds will not. It is the hardest thing in the world, to watch someone do something stupid, and to feel helpless, but there's nothing you can do. I never knew how brainwashed, and in denial people could really be, until I found out what is wrong with me, and tried to tell people. It's almost like, they all turn into people I don't even know, when I talk about mercury. It's so strange. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Hi everyone,
Thank you for all your understanding and advice,
it is such a comfort to come here and find all of you who understand what's going on.

I felt a bit embarrassed after posting that because I thought I came across as a grumpy teenager"nobody understands me...!"
It 's a strange situation to be in at age 29.

My mother is at the dentists right now.I saw her thismorning and she was in a happy mood. She asked me what kind of filling she thought she should get and showed me the tooth in question and I got quite a shock when I saw inside her mouth
There is almost more amalgam in there than tooth.Really.
I think there is amalgam on most of her teeth, really big fillings.I did not count them because I didn't want to get too close to the mercury.
Seeing all of that metal explains alot to me about the way she is, and the way I am.
My mother had all the fillings in before she had any of her 7 children, Why,I wonder am I the only of the 7 suffering these symptoms? So strange.
The others are fit & healthy ,running marathons ,doing triathlons etc.
What happened to me?
It is no wonder that they all doubt me,after all there are 9 in the family(incl.parents),all of us have amalgams and only one of us apparently sick.It would seem they do have a point.

But maybe, like some of you have suggested I should get myself well, and not spend time & energy worrying about all of that.
When I am well I will go around spreading the word about mercury etc.

Anyway ,It was nice that my mam asked my advice today, but sadly I did not know what to suggest because the tooth in question had more filling than tooth and the huge chunk that fell out was at the side,I can't imagine how they would fix it, I actually think he might extract it altogether.
It was such a shock to see so much amalgam in one mouth.
explains so much.

I really appreciate all of your replies and support.
Thanks a million.

My mam just got back from dentist and he's going to extract the tooth. It's completely insane that there is so much amalgam in her mouth.
