Hi Shonda, with all that in your mouth, you could consider yourself quite amazing that you're functioning at all. WOW!

I have heard of people becoming ill from even ONE small pit filling in their mouth. I got ill from 8 amalgams and you have 16 of them, plus the other junk metal and toxins on top of it. I know it's amazing how much the body can actually tolerate, but often, at some point, it can no longer cope.

Often you are becoming unwell before the symptoms become something you can no longer ignore. Sometimes it takes a few other knocks to the immune system before that might happen, or it just starts happening because the body has already had years of it.

Mine became obvious once braces (toxic metal - nickel) were placed on my teeth. My body was obviously already battling the amalgam toxicity, but I did not realise it. Just one more knock was all that was required to send me into chronic illness from that moment onwards. Even though the braces were removed later, which only improved things mildly.

Yes, mercury is concentrated in breast milk. My mother had a mouth packed of amalgam and she breast fed me only for a while because she was literally poisoning me. They took me off it after a while because I was pretty much having GREEN bowel motions. So I was put on a formula. I reacted badly to her breastmilk, which is similar to how I respond to any metal at all, being hypersensitive.

It is a very hard situation for any mother, because breast milk contains all that the baby requires and builds the baby's gut and immunity. So then you have this on top of it and don't know which way to turn. I don't have the answers in that situation. My brother was born with hydrocephalis (water on the brain), so who knows whether that was mercury related in the womb, or what. Mind you, we have a genetic tendency in our family apparently on my father's side towards spina bifeda and hydrocephalis anyway.

My brother was breastfed and seemed to tolerate it just fine. He's actually, apart from all his operations for the brain etc, healthier than I am (weird eh?). Though he has to take strong medication daily for seizures (due to scar tissue in the brain). He's also blind in one eye (because doctors bumped the optic nerve during the operations), plus he's colour blind. Yet, all that aside, he's worked, he's married with 3 healthy kids and I'm the invalid. Yet I grew up the apparently "healthy kid".

Anyway sorry for digressing!!! Back to your post.

Sugars and high carbohydrate foods (honey, grains, fruit, milk, potatoes, beans, corn, etc) cheese and yeast etc are probably not such a wise move if you have a candida situation going on or other internal infection. They feed yeast/fungus. Mercury causes candida. Candida makes mercury worse. Candida gives off its own toxins at the sametime and sometimes it's hard to figure what symptoms are coming from what.

So usually it's wise to get yourself on a healthy candida diet, because for many it helps them cope, helps their symptoms and improves immunity and of course helps their body elminate more toxins (even some metals) naturally.

Some people can still consume limited amounts of fruit, grain (as long as its wheat/gluten free), and a bit of milk, so long as they avoid sugar and wheat/gluten and yeast. This in itself can make a tremendous difference for some people. It did with me. I was mercury toxic back then this diet I can honestly say to you saved my life!

So I would say to eliminate (for starters anyway) ALL sugar, ALL wheat/gluten and yeast from the diet. Wheat is treated apparently with mercury fungicide. Could this be why I would get almost immediately poisoning symptoms when I ate it? I never realised what I was doing to myself and after eating cereal, would wind up sitting on the floor, crying and salivating and I'd go completely cold. My nails would go blue etc. THis was obviously my body's way of saying "I cannot handle anymore mercury than I already have".

The difference in removing the wheat and gluten and sugar from the diet was remarkable. But it took a few weeks and I had to go through the initial detox, which was unpleasant. The temporary worsening you get can be very challenging because toxins can start spilling out of you, even out of the brain. I had some headaches, crying, craving of the very foods that candida needs to survive (actually it's the candida craving it more than you). But I hung in there. It was worth everything.

My depression lifted, my energy increased, I experienced some joy in my life again. My skin became soft and smooth (like a baby almost), my eyes sparkled, my hair colour became rich in colour again and much nicer and even became to get slightly curly at the bottom (which I only had as a child). My nails grew and became healthy looking pink and very white at the tops, much more white at the ends. Wheras before they barely grew and they never looked healthy.

BUT, evenso, the underlying problem of mercury still affected me in various ways and I still had problems. But what a help the diet was to me. I began also to eat more foods raw (salads especially) and that helped even further. I could still eat some fruit and milk then and non gluten grain.

Later I had amalgam removal. I got worse after the very last removal, probably because I swallowed the drilled out amalgam that the stupid assistant failed to suction out. So I was immediately poisoned by that. But I improved a bit after some chelation. However, much later I got worse again as the stored mercury that had been in me for years began to start dumping out of my organs etc. That was tough. I went through a lot. But did get on a good safe chelation regime and was able to more safetly get the mercury out of me and in time I was becoming a properly healthy person. I still had to stick to the diet mostly, but not as much, plus health continued improving as the years rolled on.

however, these days I have other problems, even worse than what I had then. So unfortunately those days are over. I have internal virus and infections and my immune system is almost completely stuffed from that. That happened in 2003.

So I'm chronically ill by other means, and the diet I need to be on now is far stricter. I can only consume proteins (eggs and meat), plus low carb vegetables (anything other than potatoes, corn, beans, peas etc), and organic acidophilus yoghurt, raw nuts (almonds/brazil) and raw seeds (pumpkin and sunflower). That is pretty much it. If I go off my diet, even remotely (even if I eat a bit of grain or a piece of fruit), I become even WORSE.

That's what viruses and infections can do because they put your immunity in dire straits. Mercury is also horrible, but at least mercury can be detoxed. These things are different.

So you will know what you can handle by trying the diet if you wish. Whether the ultra strict that I'm on now, or the less strict that I used to be on. Also proteins like eggs and meat and healthy fats like butter, lard, extra virgin olive oil, fish oil (mercury free) are very healing. Dr Hal Huggins recommends that a mercury toxic person consume those things, plus avoid milk and caffeine and wheat/gluten and sugar. He feels that milk somehow interferes with mercury detox as can caffeine apparently. I felt wheat/gluten and sugar were much worse personally.

So if you can handle eggs? I'd keep eating them, they are very healthy and healing. But I'd oust the bad stuff I have mentioned, because it'll just pretty much make you much much more toxic. I do not know what SAME supplements are? I can't comment.

Supplements that have helped me with these conditions have been antioxidants like vitamin C (powder), vitamin E, selenium, milk thistle, fish oil (mercury free) etc.

AT any rate, even with all the improved foods and supplements, at some point you would be wise to get the junk metals out of your mouth by a good reputable biologic dentist over a period of time. Even a little at a time, as you can handle it. However, I would encourage you to prepare your body first by the good diet and supplements, because the removal procedure can and does expose people to even more mercury during the removal.

A dentist here actually will not removal amalgams from his sick patients, until they are on a strict candida diet with proper supplement support. Otherwise he believes they can get worse. He monitors them and gets them to improve their existing health and then when they are ready, he will remove their amalgams.

I think this is a very wise way to do it.

Sorry for the lengthy post! But I think you've come to the right place and hope that whatever way you do this, you will be better off for it.

I don't think they'd be any doubt that the stuff in your mouth will somehow be affecting you, either contributing or causing the problems you are experiencing. Certainly, it's another thing your body should not have to put up with.
