i went to have a cavitate scan today, i was 100% sure i had at least one cavitation because of pain there and a strange feeling of pressure. i was gobsmacked when the dentist said everything was normal, the scan looked great. i had alot of sites cleaned out by Dr David Harvie Austin a couple of yrs ago, he had done a good job according to this dentist. My jaw probs were TMJ, i have to see a specialist about it, all my symptoms are to do with this, another piece of the puzzle. If anyone knows of a TMJ specialist who they can recommend in the London area i would appreciate it! Dawn xx

Hi Dawn, that is good news though. At least its one more thing you can take off your list. How accurate is the cavitat scan?
Anyway, it does seem that Dr Austin did a thorough job and the bone has been able to grow over those areas properly.
TMJ doesn't sound too good at all. HOw long has that gone on for? And have you made sure that your dental materials are not too high? Sometimes they need to be adjusted a bit so they don't upset the bite and cause jaw problems.
I refused to leave my dentist until everything was completely right, level and I could bite properly without feeling that they were too high etc. Or I would go back and make him adjust it.
I also found that toxins migrated often into my jaw for various reasons and would leave my jaw out of alignment and it would lock up and I could often not open it properly. That happened a number of times.
anyway, best wishes on finding a good TMJ specialist and hopefully he/she will fix this ongoing problem.

Hi Bex, i hope the cavitate scan is accurate, it is designed for the job, but still the pain is there, right where a tooth was pulled. The dentist showed me the scan and the red is blood flow and it ran in a straight line, he said that disease never runs in a straight line so it looks like its good news. As for the TMJ, it could be toxins but i did see a TMJ specialist on Monday, he said i need dentures for back teeth, my 2 top molars on each side, both upper and one side lower jaw are missing, but to be honest i dont miss them i can eat properly and they caused me so much trouble when they were there but the dentist seems to think i really need dentures made £3000.00 worth. He said once they are in, my headaches and tinnitus will go away which i thought were mercury symptoms. I let him know i dont want any metal or pink dye with mercury in it for dentures. I have seen 3 dentists recently one 100 miles from the other two and they all knew each other and were all scottish.

dawn
I have 3 back molars missing and can eat properly, don't get tinnitus or headaches apart from die-back.

hi matti, thats good, i suppose it only affects some people but then again i will only know if my missing teeth are the problem when i get falsies put in. i need a splint but theres nothing there to hold it in, i just hope its all worth it. i do have quite a few teeth missing all at the back, when i smile you cant see the gaps.
