Had the final 2 mercury fillings removed this morning, thought I'd share some thoughts that may be helpful for those who are either already going through this process or are considering.
I started with 3 total, had the largest one out last Wednesday and then of course the 2 today. I violated the 7-14-21 rule by having the final 2 exactly 7 days later but from what I've read it is only a minior hit on the immune system with a day of feeling "down" or like a head cold at worst. I can deal with that. It was unavoidable as the office I am going to only does patient work on Wednesdays or I would gone with another day. So be it.
I had first read that the mercury fillings were bad for the body 13 years ago in Hulda Clark's book and always kept it in the back of my mind but never pursued having them removed.
What led me to believe very strongly that the mercury fillings were damaging my health was when my ear started ringing. Researching this situation I found it is called "tinnitus" and is often associated with people who have mercury fillings. During this research I also found out that eating hot foods activates the mercury as well as EMFs which of course come from appliances, particularly computer, microwave ovens, TVs, etc.
Funny thing happened. I realized that the ringing would get bad after eating hot food. Then it would get worse sitting in front of my computer. I'd leave the house, it would go away. I'd come back and hop on the computer and there it was. Same thing with the hot food. I'd eat a hot meal and it sounded like fire trucks from a 5-alarm fire. So I didn't need any convincing that that poisonous metal in my mouth was causing me health problems.
Also, I started to realize that foods high in sulfur were causing me irritation. Sulfur of course chelates mercury. Then I looked at my diet and realized that I had inadvertently migrated to a diet low in sulfur. That realization was very interesting to say the least and another indicator of mercury toxicity.
Other health situations I have seem to match up with mercury symptoms and the nice people on the board here who have shared their mercury situations seem to parallel mine. For those of us who are trying to heal ourselves and maximize our health I think we are all blessed to have found an avenue to accomplish our goal.
The first appointment last week went pretty well altho the dentist was going to not use the rubber dam until we discussed it further. I then made the decision to not us it. But after leaving the office I started getting concerned. A lot of people on this board insist that the rubber dam is used altho I've researched this and it isn't considered mandatory by IAOMT or Huggins.
When discussing the rubber dam today the dentist said he had discussed it with his colleages and some prefer to not use it as some of the fragments can go in back of the rubber dam and you can swallow the mercury that way. When they don't use the dam they are able to more fully suction your mouth. With the dam in place there's no suction back there. So it is a toss of a coin.
The receptionist in the office who I've built a good rapport with said she had 14 mercury fillings removed by this dentist and had some with rubber dam and some without and wasn't concerned one way or the other.
So today I decided to use the rubber dam since the dentist brought it up and seemed to want to be very accomdating. I'll say this: using the ruber dam is a lot more tedious and uncomfortable.
All in all I had a good experience with this office. The staff is very nice and the dentist who actually just works there the 1 day is very good and in particular put me very much at ease. His assistant was very nice and very good also.
So far so good, I haven't had any problems altho it appears from reading other people's experieces there is a chance of some reaction in the near future but I'm hopeful that things will continue smooth.
If I should have a reaction in the future I'm not going to blame it on using or not using the rubber dam, doing the procedure 7 days after the first or any other procedure the dentist used or decision I made regarding the process. I did the best I could and the dentist and his assistant did the best they could and now it is over. Time to move forward and not look back.
The office is in a northern suburb of Atlanta and the dentist is Wayne King for those of you who live in the area and would like to pursue having your mercuries removed. I'd recommend them.
