Hi Rachel, you're welcome. Yeah, so much of this is trial and error and sensing what's happening to yourself. Sometimes it's very hard to differentiate between things getting worse, OR healing symptoms. Because healing crisis are often most uncomfortable at the least and sometimes they can be extreme and feel like you are getting much worse.
I know when I was mercury poisoned, I kept hitting what I felt were pockets of metals and like you, you don't really know what it's hitting (certain foods) but it sure is doing something because of the effects they create. it is interesting that I was much more reactive after amalgam removal than I was with the amalgams still in.
One top doctor here working in mercury was not a bit surprised and stated that when you are healing from this poison, you can "FEEL" much worse, but you are often getting better. He said don't be fooled by symptoms into believing that things are worsening, if in fact this is part of the healing crisis that amalgam removal can bring.
Pgm mentions the way the body starts dealing more with pathogens after all amalgams are gone which causes die off...I can believe that too. But I also believe it starts dealing with the storage of years worth of accummulated mercury and this is why I think for some, all hell can break loose either from amalgam removal alone, and/or stimulating the storage into dumping out. I would hit pockets too (at least that's how it felt), or more mercury kept downloading to more accessible tissues everytime I would clear a bit out, deeper stores would surface after I had just cleared a bit out.
So it was like coming up the surface and feeling better and then being pulled right back down again until more metals were eliminated and then I'd have a good patch, but go back under again. Roller coaster ride they call this. This could actually go on in one day.
Cutler's sped this up and made it more tolerable, compared to other ways I had used to excrete the mercury. DMSA was a bit of a lifesaver for me actually. It worked because I felt detox symptoms and this showed me I needed to continue. But the manner in which he suggested using DMSA, allowed those detox symptoms to remain at least somwhat more tolerable.
I hope it works the same for you. I did a week on and a week off with 50 mg of DMSA, which has now proved too much for many people. Most start off with a very low amount and only do 3 days on or so, rather than an entire week.
You'll be the best judge of that. I think too that though I think sulfur can cause problems or too many symptoms, it does seem at least to stir up more metals and maybe the process of that allows DMSA to more readily grab onto it....? But I don't know. taking guesses here.
The more metals I got out, the more healing took place. However, when you push it too fast and too hard? It can have a backfire effect which can take ages to recover from, so it's a balance of pushing things so you get the metals OUT, but not to a point of flooding yourself into a state of being an invalid. I often pushed it too far (many times), but it was too easy to backfire because I was so toxic and had so much mercury.
Best wishes and hope it'll prove helpful to you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/byebye.gif" alt="" />
