I agree with Bex. The dentist should have to give you a refund and I would probably send him a bill for the extra expense of replacement if there is any. Even if he thought that a composite wasn't good makes no difference-he should have talked to you before doing anything.

Stay away from that dentist. He's never heard of a rubber dam? all dentist should have and use those for certain procedures-he sounds lazy and uncaring to me.

I would research the root canal thing more. Like you, I hear that they are never a good choice, but I don't know what would be.

As far as telling her to take care of her teeth, I have come to the conclusion that brushing and stuff isn't want really matters. I took very good care of my teeth growing up-brushing after snacks even- and I had a mouth full of fillings. From what I have read it has more to do with your insides. If you are acidic (which you are when you are toxic) that is what causes the teeth to rot. Also, I wonder about the calcium/magnesium balance thing. I was made to drink milk with every meal and took calcium starting at 18 years old to "prevent the osteoporosis" that runs in my family". I now know that too much calcium makes for lots of problems and I think that a magnesium deficiency adds in teeth and bone decay.

I'm sorry that you have this new problem to deal with <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
