My major problems started after getting amalgam as a child, but I do believe I had some poisoning as a baby. My mother, who is ill with what I believe to be mercury poisoning, was given an amalgam when pregnant with me which I think would have crossed the placenta. I was born premature and had no hair for a long time. Added to this my father smoked and we lived only feet away from a main road while I was a toddler then next to a factory. My mental health was pretty good as a child, though. Whether these years contributed to the acute OCD I got after amalgams at 10 years of age I don't know, but definitely there was a "before amalgam" and "after amalgam" divide in my childhood. I was normal and happy before amalgam, but afterwards very ill with OCD and suicidal.
