Hello All:

I have been tracking hair and blood before and after removal of mercury amalgam fillings.

Check out these blood test results since removal. Please note how since fillings are out how my levels have jumped up. I would like to know if anyone else has had similar results. The first number is the DHEA-Sulfate - look at the shocking jump up 9 months after removal.

If this is true, maybe we have a way to finally prove this? But come on now, Huggins had this in his book years ago, so why did no one track and prove something then? I mean I got the idea to track mine from Huggins - to prove to myself this was for real.... I don't know if I tracked the exact same things, but you can see something going on with my hemoglobin and hematocrit and others as well. The oxygen levels in the blood have been trending upwards.

And I have noticed reading all your posts that we all seem to have the same hormonal disruptions. It revolves around thyroid, pituitary and adrenal glands. It has a lot to do with cholesterol, which is made in the liver, and pregnenolone and all the derivative hormones. If we all tracked our blood and hair, would we not have the scientific proof we need? I mean we all feel bad or we would not be on this forum, right? I think that awful feeling shows in our blood!

Please let me know if I am wrong. I mean I must be - someone else out there must have results of before and after levels of these markers, right? Is it just my results that are showing a rise in these levels? I can hardly believe that....

It does seem awful coincidental, doesn't it?

Please - anyone with amalgams in, get your doctor to humor you with some of these tests before and after removal. I believe this may be valuable not only in proving toxicity, but finding the treatment that will really heal us.

Thank-you,

thanks very much TW. Really impressive The DHEA change is quite amazing. Do you feel you have recovered?

I don't think this or any other 'scientific proof' will convince mainstream medicine that amalgam illness is real. It is against their dogma and their religion that iatrogenic(doctor caused) disease is widespread. They also profit financially from it.

I remember one of Andy's posts on frequent-dose-chelation. He said he believes 95% of all people suffering from depression are mercury poisoned. He also has lab tests to back his claim.

The mysterious disease with an unknown cause is heavy metal toxicity from dental work and vaccinations. What a shame.

it makes perfect sense to me , have you done any type of chelation since amalgam removal

Hey bg123: Recovered? Some, yes, completely no. But let me repeat from an earlier post - some symptoms went away immediately upon the last filling being out. It was amazing! The lingering damage I face seems to be adrenal, and candida, though both are better. Just a couple years ago, I was on the verge of disability. Now, the decision is whether to restart chelation or just keep going natural.

Hi mikey: Yes, I chelated with various things before I learned of Cutler. Then, I used DMSA and ALA for about 40 rounds total, first 14 I think DMSA only. ALA only I tried a couple times, but it seemed worse coming off round - so I used DMSA with it. Unfortunately, as I tracked liver scores, I noticed rising values, which may have been DMSA, as ALA is supposedly good for liver. So I stopped for now.

I now have been going natural for about 5? months, and doing better than when chelating. I think chelation was straining adrenals. So -- the big question is should I bite the bullet, and restart with ALA only, or ALA and DMSA. Or just leave the mercury in my brain and live with it? And, my system seems to at times be winning this battle, but I can not tell if I need to chelate, or can I just cleanse maybe.

Who knows?

HI TW, you could always give ALA a go on its own for a while without DMSA, if the DMSA is too strong a medication for your system. AT least ALA is an antioxidant.

Andy mentions that cilantro can apparently detox brain mercury, but he's not sure of the right way to advise using it as yet to ensure safety....so it may still be a risk, even at this point. That would be up to you.

Other than that, if it's all too much, I guess all you can do is eat healthy and possibly try and sweat some of this out via the pores (hot baths with epsom salts or sea salt and baking soda etc). However, not sure if that helps get rid of brain mercury. Im' pretty sure that it's quite touch to get out and needs a strong chelating agent for that and ALA and cilantro are the ones that seem to be mentioned as being able to do it.

Thanks bg123 - I agree it is the safest route, and I have been pretty content following it for moment. However...

Hi Bex: I still am thinking of trying low dose ALA alone Cutler style and see how I do now. But the healthier I get before I do so may make it easier on my system as you say. And yes, I like the epsom salt baths, I think getting the magnesium in your system helps you feel better.

TW, What did Huggins say in his book about hormonal changes and tracking results?

Hey bg123:

I had to go back to the book, "Uninformed Consent" by Huggins and Levy to refresh my memory. They go into many of the changes that can happen with thyroid, etc.. I found a reference on page 117, that mentions testosterone and estrogen:

"As has been shown by monitoring the actual serum levels of estrogen and testosterone in both males and females, there can be dramatic changes in both levels after amalgam removal. The fallout from changing these hormones can create alterations in everything from personalities to blood pressure to fertility and probably dozens of other symptoms that encourage people to seek help from their doctors. PMS is one of the most common symptoms to see change after amalgam removal."

I did not even remember this part. What I did remember is all their talk on levels of oxygen in the blood, and how hemoglobin works. They talk about many other factors as well; it's a good book to read. After awhile, I tend to forget the specifics, but remember just general points. Amalgam is your source of fatigue, they feel. In fact, I have the Coors Study on video that shows support for this. I forgot that too.

Whatever, they sure seem to be on the right track. Point of all this nonsense, is it is all nonsense - if the right people in the Medical Field cared, we would have proven something long ago.

It's hard to believe what happened to your hormones. No doctor will believe you

Do you feel any other thing could have caused the change? Supplements etc...

One doctor will - mine! She ordered the tests!

And one more! Dr. Levy who wrote the book with Huggins.

And one more...Come on folks, you add in the other docs who will believe me cause I'm tired of typing....

Hi bg123:

I read your post again. No, I do not think it was supplements, because I really was not taking much, and what I did take was like vit C, digestive enzymes, etc. - really nothing to increase these scores. For awhile, I used testosterone gel, but I stopped this long before these tests still showed rising levels. There was nothing I did to cause that dramatic of a rise in that score - that I know of....

Given what others have written, I believe that jump was caused by getting amalgams out. I hope someone else can verify this.

After dmsa chelation for the past 6+ months, fasting blood sugar has gone from pre-diabetic to normal. My cholestrol has gone from 250 to 188. I rarely nap in the afternoons after doing so must of my adult life when given the opportunity.

TW, I heard restoring magnesium levels can increase DHEA and also testosterone. Did you start taking lots of magnesium after removal? But i doubt that it was just the supplements....

DMSA is very effective, more than people realise I think. I detoxed mercury in DMSA alone and got pretty well again. It's powerful stuff, but doesn't tend to grab the mercury that is more deeply stored in brain/organs. However, I still think it has "some" ability to remove a little of it.

It mainly clears blood/tissue levels apparently. I felt it did a bit more than that.

Glad it's worked for you goldhunter! Are you still doing it? if so, is it continuing to bring further benefits?

I will get a new set of blood work done in the late spring , to see if any improvments after amalgam removal will be , will be 1 year post removal at that point , I have had to stop chelation for now , had a bad crash after my last round , if I do any chelation it will be with just dmsa for a while , I think the ala to soon caused the crash ,will just do cleansings for now to keep the pathways open , hard to believe that I was at 80 % not to long ago ,now I am back to 50% , maybe chelation is not for me ?

Mikey, after a while ALA did the same to me... It's has helped me but made other things worse... I got so lethargic that i wouldn't move, wouldn't talk, had no motivation and feelings.
But i believe this is just temporary... Maybe i few rounds DMSA only can get you back...

I am now off for 30 days and got better... energy is also returning... I believe my mind is calmer now than before chelated with ALA.

I still believe it works but i will try to do natural detox for a while, with minerals, digestive enzymes and probiotics.

I can relate, mikey. Did the DMSA make you worse too?
Not all people have to chelate with ALA to get well.

I believe DMSA makes most people feel better short term, ALA makes many people worse, but they improve if they chelate for a long time.

I cannot say that ALA chelation made all my symptoms worse, but it got very strange after a while. I didn't feel so much more depressed but extremely lethargic and sleepy. My food allergies also came back.

I think DMSA can make you "feel" better sometimes because it's picking up the mercury already floating around in your blood. But sometimes it can stir symptoms up as well. I found a combination with it.

It removes the mercury on the outside of cells. ALA removes the mercury inside. I think this is why ALA can cause more symptoms for many people and why Andy suggests using it with DMSA if that be the case. If the DMSA helps.

But apparently ALA doesn't suppress side effects, but Andy reckons it's the main chelator and is essential. He does not believe DMSA is essential....but it worked for me!

bg123: I agree - I think that the rise in DHEA was not from supplements. Did I take lots of magnesium? No, not really. Sometimes an epsom salt bath. Sometimes my supplements had magnesium, but I was not pumping down supplements. In fact, while I like supplements, I have been decreasing them - especially man made fractionated vitamins. I am trying to go to whole food supplements to get what I need. This is supposed to be the best way to supplement according to at least 5 or more "experts" that I have read.

Awesome GH! Glad it worked for you. My hope of hopes is that I can get rid of the daily nap. I take that back. My hope is that I can take a nap because I want to, and not that I need to!

Now, the cholesterol levels are a funny thing. My guess is that in early stages of mercury poisoning they rise, and in later stages, they fall. Cholesterol is made in the liver, and when you are really toxic with mercury, I don't think you make it as well. Just my guess. My levels in last years were low, and are now seeming to rise a bit. Whatever, I think around 200 is OK, and Huggins even proposed 220. I was running like 150, and now I am more like 193 to 200. Your 250 might be a bit high, so 188 sounds pretty good.

Hi Bex: I agree. The times I did ALA alone I had a rough time for a few days after finishing chelation. I always felt adding DMSA made it more tolerable. Even then, using both ALA and DMSA, it was still sometimes rough the first day or two after a round. But I have concerns of using DMSA long term due to effects on liver. Maybe the way to use it is for a few months, and then break for a month or two.

But at a low dose ALA may be OK too. mikey made a comment of being tired of doing chelation, and I can relate to that, but it is hard to know if you would be doing better or worse without it. I can say I know of one guy who works where I do who had mercury poisoning from dental fillings in the 80's. He only used colloidal minerals and he is doing well today. So who knows? Who really knows?

I think I may try another mercury detox route , dmsa and ala have really made me worse , I was doing much better just doing nothing ,and have only done 9 rounds , I may try waioria ndc and see how that go's , I just can't f*ck around with this anymore , and getting very tired of whole f*cking thing .

mikey:

I know exactly what you mean! That is where I was 5 months ago. I'm like trying to go in to work, and feeling like dogmeat day after day. What a drag! So I had to break, and think i am doing OK, though I have sleep issues now. I think these will resolve if I can heal my adrenals.

I don't want to rain on anybody's parade. So try ALA and DMSA, and see how you do. Some people will do well, and maybe they should continue. Some of us don't, and I am not sure what to do at that point - maybe try something else.

I have NCD right now myself, but am not using it. Who knows about any of this stuff? I have read good things about it, but it could just be marketing hype. If you try it, mikey, please let us know how you do. If I try it down the road, I will post my results too. For now, I am going to try cleanses.
