Yeah, sounds like he had an encounter with the demonic. Amazingly deceptive aren't they? Yet much more easily accepted by those who oppose Christ.

I've heard some itneresting things from so-called atheists also...certainly many of them have indeed had spiritual experiences of some kind. Most people have or at least know somebody who has.

I have, so for me there isn't any doubts whatsoever. Seen the bad, seen the good, experienced the supernatural on both sides.

Funny, my atheistic friend used to complain about how cold she felt once when she entered a church (although that could have been the extreme size and high stud), but also complained of being fearful of graveyards...ghosts and things. They seem to admit to sensing things but clam up when any mention of Christ comes into it.

I remember once when I was into tarot card, palm reading, astrology etc and seeing spiritualists, there was one point when I decided there was no God. I really stopped believing and it wasn't so much anger, I just decided it oneday. Well I can tell you the change inside of me was profound. Still the same outwardly ,inwardly I felt something died. Like having a heart of stone. I was the walking dead.

The strangest most empty feeling and I didnt' last long like this because frankly I found it almost intolerable. That in itself was enough to show me that I was a walking shell without the light of the world (Christ). Though I was not yet baptised, the fact I believed was enough to keep Christ calling me to Him. When I shut that off during that one stage, the feeling was of horror (hell). I don't know how else to describe it. I guess when one continues that they become accustomed to it and don't realise the state they are in.
