HI Gloria, I am horrified to hear of this!!! I feel so sorry for this lady you speak of and I cannot believe she is just being LEFT to remain in this state.

What gets me is this. The liver itself is one of the MAIN detox organs...so if the liver is overwhelmed by by toxicity and nobody is doing anything about it, how on earth is this helpful to her? Her liver is screaming out for support and aid to eliminate the very thing poisoning it.

I can understand harsh detoxes being warned about, but certainly leaving her in this state doesn't seem wise either....

We are not professionals on here and I would hesitate to know what on earth to advise or recommend. Having not heard of this before...

I can only say what I would do if it were me. Certainly I would get to a doctor or other trained professional, but one that is also into alternative health as well. I don't know if a "chiropractor" is someone that I would go to about this.....That just doesn't sound right to me.

I can understand the caution of resisting harsh/aggressive cleanses/detoxes in her state due to possibly erupting a load of toxins at onetime. BUT, I would at the very least get myself onto a healing diet!!!! And support the liver's own ability to detox itself over time (in the liver's own time), rather than force it to do so with flushes etc.

I would also start very slow on everything. The diet I would advise in her situation (please I am no doctor, this is just recommendation from what I have read and experienced) would be a very natural diet. I would exclude ALL potential dietry burdens - sugar, white flour, gluten etc. She should at this time probably treat her body like fine china!

Everything she puts into herself should be healthy. NO toxic or burdensome substances or food AT ALL. This at the very least will enable her body to SLOWLY but surely deal with the other issue in its own time.

I would consume fruit, vegetables (raw/steamed/stir fried), raw nuts, raw seeds (sunflower/pumpkin), eggs, meats, acidophilus yoghurt (sugar free/plain) and if she can handle grains, I would probably stick with no gluten if possible. Porridge is healthy, but it can be contaminated with some gluten, so that is up to her. But usually limited non gluten grain is ok like brown rice, millet, corn etc. Again NO SUGAR. Absolutely no fizzy drink, or any junkfood, cookies, cakes, crackers, nothing! However, if she has high yeast levels (which often happens in toxic situations), she would be advised to go easy on the fruit and grain. They are high in carbs and though natural, candida can still sometimes feed off them. Either limit them or eliminate if necessary. But fruit is still very cleansing and so are vegetables. Salads are wonderful. Plenty of alfalfa, celery etc. I often have a salad with alfalfa, celery, tomatoe, lettuce, cucumber etc. If I can be bothered, I have grated cabbage and carrots and beetroot(raw)(with grated apple if I can handle some fruit) mixed as a kind of coleslaw. These are VERY cleansing and good for the liver. Lots of cruciferous vegetables like broccoli etc (brussel sprouts) and things. These are very liver friendly!

I would have warm water drinks - with some lemon juice and celtic sea salt (for minerals). Proper celtic sea salt is very healing. Half or quarter of a lemon (maybe she should start with less at first in case she gets too harsh cleansing reaction), with about 1/4 teaspoon of celtic sea salt (electrolite drink). Very healing and healthy. IF she is not suffering from a lot of candida? She maybe able to put in some healing honey too (like a teaspoon). Manuka honey is apparently very soothing and healing.

I would also have herbal teas, particularly those that aid the liver. I don't mean harsh cleanses, just supportive to cleansing without forcing it. E.g. Dandelion teas and/or even dandelion coffees etc.

She should avoid coffee (ordinary coffee). She maybe ok with black tea, that is up to her, but I'd stick with herbal tea. i would avoid milk personally as it is very mucous forming and is not usually helpful to detoxing. However she might be ok with limited amounts if she wants some in her cereal.

healing fats such as butter, extra virgin olive oil (particularly in salad), and fish oil (mercury free) can be great also. But tell her to go easy at first until she is able to handle these things. They are very healing and protective. She ought to stay away from the toxic plant oils like canola oil and other ones like soy. They are very bad and I advise checking out this site

As for supplements? At this stage I would be very careful. I would start on the diet and concentrate on this first as it is the foundation to everything else. She can supplement later as she feels she can handle anything else. This in itself may already encourage some elimination, but the body will at least be able to heal and do a certain amount if it's given the proper tools and nutrition.

It takes time and she may well go through some detoxing at first, but at least it's not forceful cleansing, but rather ALLOWS for any to take place as the body has a chance to do what it does best!!!! When the body gets what it needs and you eliminate the other, over time it can heal.

She maybe able to add more later on. But again, I am not a professional and I'd be too frightened to really advise much else.....she should probably locate someone like a trained alternative health therapist to aid her in this. It does not sound like she is getting any help at all from the chiropractor. I am sure people are frightened to advise in case it backfires and someone is liable. But the poor thing is being left in a toxic dire strait. Something has gotta be done.

Her liver is probably SCREAMING for help!!! the largest organ of detox is the skin. That can also take some load of the liver, if she can handle the heat! Sometimes having hot baths with the addition of epsom salts or sea salt and baking soda (cup each or so) can be very helpful in eliminating toxins via the pores. But only if she can cope with that kind of heat, otherwise she can take it easier and have the bath luke warm, but still have the stuff in it.

Again, I"m sorry I could not be of more help, but truly I would begin with this and go from there. Supplements that are helpful to the liver can later be added if she wishes to go further or homeopathic support, but she would be wise to go to a naturopath or someone like this for that in her condition.

Here is a testimony I thought might be helpful to her:

Thanks for sharing this with us. I wish your friend all the best and she is very lucky to have someone like you seeking help on her behalf!!! But the first thing she should do is eliminate ALL toxic potentials (diet included) and make healthful additions. At least that takes some weight off her poor liver and other organs and improve their function.
