Hi RedMan. Cool journey! Thanks for typing it up.

Your story is very similar to mine. Nightmare stomach problems. I had the camera rammed down my throat too, unpleasant isn’t it! I had real bad heartburn and stomach problems for about 9 years. I was taking every antacid on earth. Near the end I had heartburn 24 hours a day, I had to go for a 20 minute walk after every meal or heartburn would go into overdrive for a week or two. My doctors where worse than useless.

I did the same as you and cut out all the same foods you did, just as you did….i.e. cold turkey…..and within 2 weeks my heartburn, that had been with me for 9 years……was 90pct cured. That was the beginning of my health journey….that was 1 year ago. Many many good (and a few bad) things have happened since then.

Most of my pain and suffering was centred on my back. Mostly lower back, but shoulders, neck and upper back all get in on the action and hurt like hell too. My diet directly affects all of those muscles. If I eat wheat……muscles in my back hurt like hell.

Re amalgam removal: yup, I had all those crappy after-effects too. For me they kicked in 7/14/21 days after each amalgam removal. Thank god I knew it might happen like that and was semi-prepared. We are talking serious mind numbing funked-up-ness here, not a minor event. I too can only conclude that mercury is a serious problem if after 1 amalgam removal causes so much pain for so long. My symptoms lasted 3-4 days then repeated 7/14/21 days later, although they did diminish in intensity as time went by.
I had to wait 1 month in-between removals and I advise you to wait until you feel well again before getting the next batch out. All in all amalgam removal took me 9 months. I had 8 amalgams. It was a long painful miserable time. Its 2.5 months since I have been amalgam free.

I echo what Bex said “amalgam illness” and “its all in your head” – both essential reading for mercury toxicity.
