Well it looks like I've come to the right place

It's been a long road but finally I think I know what's wrong me. I believe I am Mercury Toxic. I've got a few moments up my sleeve so I'll tell you all about it.

For most of my life I've had constant brain fog and a bizarre short term memory (some memories just not being 'recorded' whilst having fantastic visual recall of others). It has always been a struggle to concentrate.

Fatigue is another one that's been with me to varying degrees for most of my life. Interesting side story; I went to the Doctor one day complaining that I was always tired and fatigued. He told me that there was nothing to worry about as 'a lot of people complain about it.' So are we talking about 'nothing to worry about' or an epidemic?

Acne - for all of my adult life I've had acne on my back. I used to get large boil like spots, not little red 'dots.' Until a year ago I used to also get small spots on my face, and the same boils used to appear on the side of my neck...always the same place on the side of my neck - and mirrored on the other side. My body has been trying to get rid of toxins but no one told me about that theory...

About two years ago in the middle of the night I had a bout of gastritis. I thought it was gas...but it didn't go away. The pain and discomfort just kept building. After 4 hours it just subsided. Gone. It wasn't until half a year later that I got my next bout - it was from this time that it became a constant part of my life. My body had crashed. Associated with the extremely painful gastritis was muscle spasms which would precede the gastritis event itself. No one could help me. No one knew what was causing it. It would then last longer than 4 hours a night - the whole night, sometimes during the day time. On average 5 or 6 times a month, sometimes more. My stomach would get so upset that I would throw up several times at the climax of the gastritis event. I thought it may have been a sensitivity to what I ate, but it seemed like only soft food would not aggravate it. Along with this I had terrible fatigue. I had to really push myself through work every day. I was pale and the dark circles under my eyes were even more grey than they used to be.

What was happening to me? The doctors said I was producing too much acid so wanted to put me on Losec. It did happen to work, but I didn't want to be medicated for the rest of my life, but they also put me in for a gastroscopy to check for ulcers or for anything wrong with my stomach.

Stomach fine. They had a theory about the upper valve being a little bit sluggish, but no matter how much they tried to convince me it didn't fit in my opinion.

The muscle spasms continued though, along the spine and between the ribs. I discovered (after looking at stomach contents and by feeling and self diagnosis) that my stomach muscles and a lot of other internal muscles were permanently engaging, which meant that food wouldn't actually leave my stomach, so more and more acid would build up to try to digest something that wasn't going anywhere. Eventually the build up of naturally produced acid would begin to aggravate the stomach and gastritis would occur. This would also explain why throwing up would be the beginning of the "end" of the session.

On the advise of a friend I decided to try an anti-inflammatory. Even though it's nasty medication, it FINALLY brought me relief from the hours of agony.

Then I ordered an Elisa test testing for food allergies - I was desperate. Before the results came back I started seeing a chiropractor. He could tell I was in a very bad way - a large number of muscles along the back and internal were very tight. I felt in a very bad way. After a few weeks of seeing him the results came back from the Elisa test...

I had NO immediate allergies to ANYTHING. Fine. Not a problem. However I suspected that...I did however have delayed reactions to...almost everything typical in the western diet.

Wheat Gluten, Gliaden, whole wheat (top of the reaction list) + Rye + Spelt
Dairy
Eggs (Top of the reaction list)
Peanuts (Top of the reaction list)
Sesame seeds
Garlic

I'm a stubborn and determined person, so as soon as I saw this I cut ALL of them out cold turkey. The Chiropractor noticed an immediate difference. I was still in a bad way, but it was a change.

I've been doing this for a year. In this year the acne is still on my back, but gone from everywhere else - no more boil-like spots either. I feel about as good as I did 10 years ago - so I'm better than I was a year ago, but still not "right."

That's when we come to Mercury... (In part 2)

(Part 2) About to Remove the Remainder of My Amalgams

I'm still sensitive to the foods I cut out - for example, wheat gives me a huge brain fog and tightens up my muscles within 30 minutes or so. But so many different things - I didn't have these issues when I was a child, so why now? What's changed? Why SO MANY DIFFERENT ALLERGIES?

There's a wonderful saying - usually the simplest answer is the most accurate. I've always wondered about mercury as being the problem, and I have enough evidence to believe it's the case.

1) My mother has A LOT of amalgam fillings. The saying to mothers back when I was born was "it's good to fix your teeth so you can be the best for your baby." I asked her if she had dental work done while she was pregnant with me - she said "most probably."

2) One of my first vaccinations as a child left me terribly ill for a very long time.

3) Even though I don't have a lot of amalgam left in my mouth, it's been present in my mouth since I was aged in single digits. Here in New Zealand we have the wonderful dental nurse who would kindly put mercury in your head, then turn one of those dental cotton rolls into a beautiful bumble bee. Aww how cute.

4) I class myself as a "sensitive." For example, homeopathically I react VERY fast - faster than anyone most people have seen before. I also get screwed up again pretty quickly too...

5) I recently had an old amalgam taken out SAFELY. It was a test for me really, but I probably should have prepared myself for it...five days later I started to feel very lethargic getting worse on the seventh day, a week after removal. I remember hearing that there is a 7 day healing cycle that people go though. If so that would also explain the next energy slump the exact time the FOLLOWING WEEK. I went to the herbal health store and got a liver support tincture made up, and an adrenal support. I think it's helped.

That was with ONE filling removed...and following proper protocols too. I'm about to book myself in to get the other three out. As I said I don't have many left, but there has ALWAYS been mercury in my life in small doses, and I have proven myself a number of times to being extremely sensitive.

Before I go in to get the rest out I though it wise to prepare - I have some Algin on order, which I am waiting on to arrive before I book in to the dentist. I'll get onto the liver support, probably do a colonic before hand too just to make sure everything is good for removal. Then after removal I'll just support the body for a little while before chelating - but I'm working on a battle plan to do it naturally and gently (and for someone on a tiny budget).

So to answer the question I wrote earlier, what's changed with my body to react to those different things? I think my body, which has been showing signs of problems for most of my life had finally yelled out ENOUGH. It's not like I haven't tried other avenues before for help (alternative or conventional) but none of them have mentioned mercury, and mercury just fits with everything I've discovered so far.

And so that's pretty much it. I'm sure there is stuff I've forgotten to write, and I know there is stuff that I haven't had time to put in, but essentially this is my journey in a nutshell.

Wow, thanks for sharing that. What a journey and a painful one at that. So many of these kinds of journeys for people suffering a chronic underlying condition, be it mercury or infection etc.

I think you have probably nailed the cause or a contributing one at the very least. Mercury is so toxic, that it truly is an insane thought that anybody could ever have thought to introduce it into the oral environment (of ALL places)...where all the chewing, heat, erosion would take place. How intelligent, right under the nasal cavity, under the brain. What were they THINKING??? or did they think at all?

My father is on Losec! He is 76 though and began to get spasms in the throat when he would try and swallow food and would regurgitate his food. This was becoming wore as time wore on and the acid from this could have eventually caused cancer apparently. He needed to have something to help the acid and relax his throat...not sure what Losec does, but he reckons it's helping him....

I think you are making a wise move to remove your amalgams, slowly but surely. Make sure you get as much protection as humanly possible during removals!!! It is very very important, or you can get much worse from over-exposure to mercury vapor during the removal. Devastating it can be. The slower the better in my opinion.

Algin is a really good one for many people, Russ the owner recommends this and vitamin E, vitamin C and selenium. Very good antioxidants for mercury because mercury pretty much uses them up. They can help protect against it too. Just don't take vitamin C near your dental appointment as it can wipe out the numbing of the anasthetic. So stop taking it 24-48 hours before the dental work, as you don't want to feel pain! Start it again immediately afterwards.

One thing you missed out on your exclusion list that was probably one of the main things that you should have included. SUGAR!!!! This is one of the WORST thing you can put into your already sick and weakened body. if you have not eliminated this, PLEASE do it. Sugar on it's own can cause total and utter havoc and feed yeast/fungus in your body, weakening your entire system. Yeast releases many toxins, which then poison and weaken your body alongside the mercury, suppressing immunity and allowing allergies to take a stronghold. It makes mercury even more toxic and allows it to do more damage. Yeast will also mess up your gut and liver and your ability to eliminate toxins.

The worst culprits often for a toxic person is sugar, gluten/wheat, dairy (milk/cheese), caffeine (coffee mainly), yeast, moulds, fruit juices, honey, etc.

Even natural sugars in natural foods can allow yeast to feed. So excluding fruit, potatoes, corn, may also help.

My father found when he stopped eating so much sugar, his throat prolbems appeared to lessen and almost disappear....yet when he started eating more sugar again, they got worse. Now he's on losec because he does not wish to give up his sugar eating.

So yeah, sugar is probably the kiss of death for anybody in any toxic/candida/mercury situation. If I eat the stuff, I PLUMMET. In fact, because of sugar, I could not get over a bad flu. Everytime I stopped eating it, my body would begin to fight the virus more, but because I kept cheating I wound up having antibiotics, which then messed me up even more and caused worse candida.

It is a vicious cycle all of this. The more things you can eradicate that are causing or contributing to your sick state of health, the more your body will be able to assert itself more. It can take time though. Eliminating sugar and the other stuff can result in a withdrawal and detox of its own and make you feel worse for a few weeks or so. But should result in improvement once the body has eliminated some of the toxins and reduced yeast levels.

A dentist here (in new zealand) biologic will not remove amalgams from his patients unless they are on a specific protocol to improve their health first. A very important part of this is the candida diet. To reduce their candida and improve their immunity! If they do not comply? He will usually not remove their amalgams. Otherwise he said it can make them sicker.

Im glad you found this forum and I really hope that you will find it helpful to you. If I was you, I would be on the candida diet (full on, without any cheating), I'd take the algin, vitamin C, E and selenium and probably milk thistle for the liver. I would get the Andrew Hall Cutler book "amalgam Illness, Diagnosis and Treatment" and keep that book with me to refer to throughout my entire mercury elimination journey. It is the best book I have read on the matter so far, other than the Hal Huggins one "It's all in your head".

These two books are to my mind very valuable!

Hi RedMan. Cool journey! Thanks for typing it up.

Your story is very similar to mine. Nightmare stomach problems. I had the camera rammed down my throat too, unpleasant isn’t it! I had real bad heartburn and stomach problems for about 9 years. I was taking every antacid on earth. Near the end I had heartburn 24 hours a day, I had to go for a 20 minute walk after every meal or heartburn would go into overdrive for a week or two. My doctors where worse than useless.

I did the same as you and cut out all the same foods you did, just as you did….i.e. cold turkey…..and within 2 weeks my heartburn, that had been with me for 9 years……was 90pct cured. That was the beginning of my health journey….that was 1 year ago. Many many good (and a few bad) things have happened since then.

Most of my pain and suffering was centred on my back. Mostly lower back, but shoulders, neck and upper back all get in on the action and hurt like hell too. My diet directly affects all of those muscles. If I eat wheat……muscles in my back hurt like hell.

Re amalgam removal: yup, I had all those crappy after-effects too. For me they kicked in 7/14/21 days after each amalgam removal. Thank god I knew it might happen like that and was semi-prepared. We are talking serious mind numbing funked-up-ness here, not a minor event. I too can only conclude that mercury is a serious problem if after 1 amalgam removal causes so much pain for so long. My symptoms lasted 3-4 days then repeated 7/14/21 days later, although they did diminish in intensity as time went by.
I had to wait 1 month in-between removals and I advise you to wait until you feel well again before getting the next batch out. All in all amalgam removal took me 9 months. I had 8 amalgams. It was a long painful miserable time. Its 2.5 months since I have been amalgam free.

I echo what Bex said “amalgam illness” and “its all in your head” – both essential reading for mercury toxicity.

Hey Bex, which part of NZ are you in? I'm in Auckland - be interesting to know what places and people you recommend.

Sugar Since I was little I've always been very sensitive to sugar. It really buzzes me up. I've cut a lot of sugar out as well

Sunshine P - yeah I had the 7 days and the 14 days "illness", but boosted the system up with adrenal and liver support and seemed to have slid past the 21 without much issue Still of late it feels as though an elephant has decided to sit on the top of my brain. The "brain tension" is located mainly in the top/front of my brain (where it has been most of my life to varying degrees - same place where I feel "THE FOG") which I believe is in the "deep thinking" section for me. Problem is whenever I need to really think about something it seems to be that part of the brain that needs to process it and in return it stubbornly, and argumentatively (figuratively speaking), declines to assist. I also get the "band of pressure" - not pain as such, just pressure - reaching around from the top front to around the sides of the brain (much like where the bands of the "miss world" tiara would go!) It's not like this is unusual for me - this state of being always comes and goes. It's familiar ground and I'm stubborn

This was for me too! Less so lower back, more middle and upper back. Imagine this pulsing and reaching around through into the gaps in the rib cage.

Knowing what I know now, the acne on my back is a blessing - it's showing me that my back is a major place of detox for me. In fact after seeing the chiropractor and changing my diet, my back acne has done some amazing things! Instead of being "randomly" scattered it began to form into clusters, one gathering point being a major area the chiropractor used to adjust. They would also form into lines, sometimes even mirrored on the other side of the back. I guessed it was all coming from the lymphatic system - which to me suggests that I need to visit a good infra-red sauna more often

*Just a clarification - the muscle spasms in my back used to come and go, usually it would flare up just before the gastritis would. Theory is that the back would tense up, constrict the nerves running to my inners which would, in turn, make them tense up. However I also believe that I was just running with scissors anyway, so any aggravation anywhere could set either one or the other off. Thank god those days are behind me.

For me everything centers on my back. When I have trouble, whatever the cause, my back is the first, last and worse pain.

Well, I have offered it.

It is that the infrared saunas, which transfer heat by radiation (infrared radiation) deposit heat in a very nonuniform manner on the body and the human body does not handle this well. Regular saunas transfer the heat evenly by convection and the body handles this much
better.
Andy Cutler

And another……………….

There are never any circumstances where infrared sauna should be used.

They have a high adverse reaction rate, the marketing claims are not accurate, some brands are full of materials that will zap chemically sensitive people (despite claims to the contrary), and the IR does not behave as stated - in fact most of them don't emit the spectrum they claim to in their advertizing literature.

Regular (wet or dry) sauna is fine.

Hi Redman, I'm from Wellington (lower Hutt).

You are probably in one of the best areas to be in, in regards to amalgam removal. Here is one of the top dentists in our country, check out his website and look where it is
http://www.integrativedentalmedicine.com/

He will go through everything with you. If you wish for a THOROUGH evaluation, testing for biocompatibility of replacement materials etc, health testing and preparation and full and thorough amalgam removal protection, this is probably where you should go.

Even a little bit of sugar here and there is more than enough for yeast and fungus to remain at high levels and be sustained there. Cold turkey is the only way to bring them down and improve health. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that is how it is and I wish it wasn't because I"m a sugar addict! Until I ousted every bit of sugar and stopped eating any at all, I couldn't make any progress.

Anyway, I wish you all the best and hope you find a dentist that suits your needs. HOping the option I gave you will be helpful in that search.

Thanks for the link Bex - I'll give them a call when they open tomorrow - don't appear to be open on Thursdays!

I think I saw you mention that Braces were also a problem...I had braces! Are you telling me they use Mercury in braces? Damn nabbit...

When I was trying to sort myself out last year I also did an "Ionic footbath" a few times - hell I didn't know what was wrong with me so what the heck . Now I suspect that it is WAY too fast at removing toxins from the body as it was during this time that I also got the occasional patches of red, itchy rashes!

It's all coming back to me...

Hi Red man,

You're welcome! They may still be away for holidays..? They have weekends and don't work on Mondays as far as I recall (Monday is when they do their paper work).

Keep trying anyway and best of luck!

No, mercury is not in braces, but other very toxic metals are (nickel). The combination of different/opposing metals in the same mouth causes a battery like effect (galvanic response) and even more mercury is released from amalgams in the process, plus different metals make eachother even more toxic.

This was the last straw for me and once braces went onto my teeth, I became chronically mercury toxic from then on. Even though they were removed, it was obviously the last straw. So from there, I had glandular fever, candida, and many other things that thrived within my toxic body.

Allergies - chemical sensitivities and all. Treating candida helped this a great deal and my depression and anxiety, as well as amalgam removal later on and chelation.

Yep itchy rashes can be from candida or metals. I personally knew it was metals for me. I could even TASTE metal in my mouth. This happened after the DMPS injection as I mentioned. So yeah you can do something that can cause a tremendous release of stored metals into your system. Mine came out of the pores of my skin.

I also used to cry and salivate excessively and almost uncontrollably, especially when detoxing (particularly when I was using mobilising agents, rather than doing a safer protocol). Metals would go everywhere and I'd go almost insane with symptoms.
