Both of my boys seem to have alot of the symptoms of mercury poisoning but yet have had no fillings at all . Could they have gotten this from me and would they benefit from a detox program . If yes what would be a good idea?

It's true that many children are toxic with mercury. First they get mercury from the preservative thimerosal in the vaccinations they are given, and also, if mom has amalgams in her mouth during pregnancy, the mercury can pass through the placenta into the child. Between these two factors, they can already have a big enough body burden to eventually cause symptoms. Some children are developing autism and other developmental delays as well as ADHD from these issues. However, it is important to make sure that they do not have a copper problem which can cause the same things. Mainstream doctors only recognize copper as a problem when there is liver disease called Wilson's Disease. However, elevated copper can also cause these types of problems even without Wilson's disease. You need to find a special doctor who will run their red blood cell copper to and do a hair analysis to determine if there is a copper problem. If that is excluded, then you can work on the mercury detoxification which I would do by following the protocol of Andrew Hall Cutler "Amalgam Illness Diagnosis and Treatment" which you can purchase right here on this website.
Good luck

Do your children eat a lot of fish, especially Tuna? Mercury isn't only got from fillings. It can be in the environment or food.
Aswell as having fillings, I could possibly had some mercury from my mother as she had a filling done when she was pregnant with me, which they won't do today.

I agree with the others. My children also have symptoms, but don't have any amalgams. Someone told me that you start out nutritionally where you mother is. So if the mother is suffering from deficiencies because of the mercury, the child will start out deficient and also have mercury that crossed the placenta. I have my kids on magnesium and probiotics generally and treat other things as they come up.

I have read about mercury concentrating in the child before birth in effect "protecting" the mother from mercury to some extent and damaging the child. For this reason, birth defects are a highly-recoginized result of mercury. Childhood vaccines contain large amounts of toxins; from mercury to aluminum to an additive used in antifreeze (for your car) to many other things that would shock you. Because these substances are injected into the bloodstream via some vaccines, the body's normal immune-triggering mechanisms will not respond making the already vulnerable body of the child even more prone to damage. The latest statistic I heard is that 1 in 166 children born in the U.S. right now are eventually diagnosed as autistic (MSNBC). I also heard that autism rates are?for the first time?are declining in California which began restricting the use of mercury in vaccines a couple years ago (MSNBC). From the deepest parts of my being, I urge any parent to watch this 3-hour video before making the decision to vaccinate their children: Vaccines: Risks, Benefits, Choices by Dr. Sherri Tenpenny I've seen too much damage and heartbreak caused by people who were not properly informed about this issue before making decisions.

To answer your question about what to do now... As long as they don't have any amalgams, a careful detox plan would probably benefit them greatly, especially if the culprit is mercury. I, like those previous in this thread, highly recommend the Cutler book to help you check out each symptom and educate yourself about how to deal with it. A good plan that would apply to anyone would be: Vitamin E and Selenium ( suggestion ) Vitamin C with Bioflavonoids ( suggestion ) Algin ( suggestion ) These will help protect them from further damage. When you put together a detox plan, you can add in things that fit their symptoms. If you want to list some of the symptoms here, I can let you know what is commonly used. Hope this helps.

Anonymous, Very interested in your post on your son's symptoms. I have been wondering the same about my sons. What kind of symptoms have your boys been having? My oldest (15) has had headaches and a nervous stomach since he was about 5. My younger son (10) has ringing ears, stuffed ears, he has "strange" thoughts about "robbers coming through his window" and other things he says he can't get out of his mind. He also is almost continually stuffed up and falls easily to colds. Do any of these sound familiar? Would love to hear from you.

Perhaps this information will help... "Tryptophan may be high or low affecting melatonin and seritonin. Glutamine may be low leading to 'crazy thoughts'. Histidine may be low, leading to low histamine, which may lead to psychotic thought processes in some individuals."Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment by Dr. Andrew CutlerPerhaps these irrational fears are related to these processes. I used to have them when I was a kid as well... terribly.

My oldest son is 19 and right from birth he had colic and can not digest milk .He also suffers from being stuffed up but the worst is he is so shy and has very weird dreams. My mom has schizophrenia so we werre always concerned about that. We had him go to a pyschiatrist but he seemed to think he suffered from depression because of the verbal abuse he suffe red from his peers at school which i did not know? I feel because of these emotional problems he has turned to alchol and drugs to cope. He also has terrible brain fog and always finds it difficult to concentrate and remember things. M y other boy is 16 and he to is very shy and is hard to talk to . He has followed in his brothers foots steps and has used alcohol and drugs to help him cope . He also suffers alot from sore throats and is always plugged up. I would like to thank everyone for all there suggestions and only hope i can convince my teenagers to try and detox( easier said than done with teenagers

It could be mild OCD. It takes various forms, but is usually about irrational thoughts and fears. I suffered with it severly as a child and while I could remember some things vividly, other things would go clean out of my head.
I think mercury might cause it because it's thought most to affect the mind and nervous system, and both cause OCD - it's the mind that suffers, but it's caused by interference in neural pathways in the brain due to low serotonin.

Do you have any recommendations for OCD? My neice ( 13 yrs old) has this, but is aware of it and wants to try something to help.

Hi Missy. I never had any professional help for it, so I really don't know what a doctor would recommend, except perhaps therapy and some kind of medication. Does she have fillings or is the problem definitely bio-chemical? I suspect the fillings may have triggered it for me because I didn't have it until I had them, but I might be wrong.
I've read that it's caused by a serotonin problem. Eating foods that contain tryptophan can help the natural creation of serotonin - like milk, eggs, bananas. You can get a list of foods high in this quite easily by doing a google search.
I've also read it could be due to magnesium deficiency, so taking a supplement (not magnesium oxide) might help.
How bad is she at the moment? Cases vary from very bad to moderate anxiety. What is her relationship like with her parents? When you have OCD, then you get panic attacks that demand to be relieved, and often doing a ritual is a way of relieving it, but if she had a good relationship with her parents, then maybe she could be encouraged to go to them for a hug when she feels anxious, rather than to feel she has to hide her anxiety from them and having to relieve it in another way.
Does she believe in God? If she does, then telling herself that God is in control can help relieve the need for rituals. Becoming a Christian helped me in this respect, because I told myself and accepted that the rituals wouldn't make any difference.
Trying not to get hungry can help, but to take regular healthy snacks. Chocolate is good for making serotonin but cam cause a sharp drop in it too.
I've also heard that not absorbing food very well can contribute to anxiety, so maybe eating foods or taking a supplement suitable for her age can help with that - I'm sure Russ or Laura will be able to recommend something.
I've really just learnt to live with the condition, and through force of will get over the rituals, knowing they won't make any difference. Some other things I still have, like compulsion to blink, anxiety, phobias.
Therapy might well help her to deal with some phobias. OCD often centers around particular phobias i.e. germs, radiation, outdoors, health. Dealing with the phobias might help.
Hope this is of some use.

PS For adults, there are products like Mindsoothe that are said to help, St John's Wart and 5htp, although I've never tried them.
I really don't know if they would be suitable for a tenn girl, though. St John's Wart can lead to sensitive skin and light sensitivity and the 5htp can cause drowsiness. I think that diet would be the better way of obtaining tryptophan to make serotonin for a child.

As the mother of an 18 yr old I know what you mean. With boys you can always appeal to their vanity, they want muscles right? or do they have them already? I would go with the whey protein, capsules or the powder. READ the MOOD CURE by Julia Ross, and see that a lot of problems including mental/emotional are really protein (or amino acid deficiency). A little protein before bed can stop some dreams. TURKEY is full of l-tryptopan, and so is dairy. But since you said they are congested, I would try to get them to try 7 days without dairy and see if their heads clear up while using the WHEY or the EGG WHITE protein powder, it makes great smoothies with soy milk or almond milk and fresh/frozen fruit. Hope this helps a little, Joanne

Demi,
Thanks for all the good info. Yes, she does believe in God and also her parents are good in trying to help her with this and don't really want to put her on any medication-they did take her to a Dr., but thankfully he didn't want to either.
I don't think she is really bad, the only thing they mentioned was washing her hands continually. Her mother does have several amalgams, but I'm not sure about her. I will pass along this information to them.
Also, you mentioned your compulsion to blink, anxiety, and phobias- I have a friend that started taking magnesium for his restless legs. I had noticed that he also had a real problem with compulsive blinking. I noticed that after a while on the mg that he almost has stopped the extra blinking altogether. A magnesium deficiency (which all mercury people will likely be to some degree because it displaces mg and causes you to need more to detoxify the hg ) will also cause anxiety and phobias. How much magnesium are you taking? You may need to up your amount or like me, take a form that you can assimilate. I use an ionized form and now can take what I need.
