Any thoughts/opinions about swimming pools?

I would like to take my son to help him get used to the water,
I have not been near a pool in about 4 years ,I took him as a baby and swam alot before my pregnancy and during.
But a few years ago my copper levels were high and I was advised by nutritionist that the pools had copper in the water.
Also what about the chlorine in the water?

Apart from taking him to the pool,I can wait untill the summer
and take him to the sea, the atlantic on the west of Ireland

yeah the pools these days might be a problem. I used to love to swim laps but the epidemics of strep/staph in locker rooms keeps me away more than anything else. I've sort of quit the gym too. I hate the chlorine in public pools. My copper levels were high when I was initially tested, it may be from that.

personally I'd wait till summer but learning to swim in open water isn't as easy as the pool either. However the salt water is real real good for you.

up in the air I guess. be careful and shower after if you do go, a few times is probably ok.

If he doesn't learn to swim young he may never fully learn. If it were me I would want my kid to swim and risk it I think. I wouldn't make a daily habit of it though.

Don't go if you have cuts or wounds anywhere on your body is all, kind of inviting trouble if you do.

Thanks,
I do want him to learn to swim.
I do think the pools are risky however I might take him along and test it out.

its lucky my kids have grown up and have learnt to swim and go by themselves because if i go near a chlorinated pool i get very bad nose bleeds and they last for weeks, same with paint, if i breath in paint my nose gets sore and starts bleeding.
now i use eco friendly paint, it still affects me but not so much. dawn
ps.i would wait for the summer and go to an out door pool.
