I got a download Ebook once about DMSA. The guy was cured from mercury poisoning by using it and his protocol is very similar to Hal Huggins suggestions to use DMSA. I think he suggested 50 - 100 mg of DMSA (one capsule) everyday or every second day.
Yet any method other than Andrew Cutler's was very dangerous to me. Even just "one" isolated 50 mg capsule of DMSA could cause such horrific symptoms that I could be up all night in anguish and I am not exaggerating when I say that. Either that, or it would make me extremely hyped up and nervous. The effects would not usually die down until a week had gone by or longer. I had to use Andy Cutler's protocol to improve and reverse many such reactions I had from "experimenting" with other protocols.
Simply because isolated doses or anything outside of frequent careful dosing of Cutler's method, can move mercury erratically and the stuff can go anywhere, usually into more sensitive areas (brain being one).
Though some people can cope with it, I could not and many others cannot also and have been damaged.
It's the same with natural products, though they maybe healthy in every other circumstance, if they work by stirring mercury up too much, they become quite a risk. Some people do really well on sulfur amino acids like cysteine etc, others it is a total disaster.
Two people apparently committed suicide after being put on large amounts of NAC for mercury. I do not know the details as such, I heard this on a candida forum where a guy was advocating using it because of it's ability to increase glutathione, and was told by more than one member about the double suicide! Though it is great for the liver and glutathione.... again, if you have mercury, use with caution.
Though it was not the NAC itself that would have caused this, it the mercury being wildly moved around and causing horrible symptoms was most likely the culprit. I can't tell you how many times I could have ended my life from "detoxing mercury". Simply because I did not understand what I was doing and neither it seemed did the apparent "experts" trying to treat it who had me on all manner of things. My doctor thought she was doing me a favour by telling me to just take "one" cap of DMSA on a small amount, but didn't understand that even that would be enough to cause a horrible reaction.
Andy Cutler was the only one that got it right, (dosing every 4 hours to keep blood levels of chelating agent even, so movement of mercury will be the same) at least in my case and it seems many others because he truly understands the way mercury works and the safest method of treating it and chelating it.
However, it doesn't mean that he knows ALL or that it will work for everybody, but I'll say this, he has an excellent track record and continues to do so. I wonder sometimes is it really worth experimenting when there is such a tried and tested protocol out there? I know I did alot of it and regret it quite bitterly. I never had to go through that kind of agony afterall.
