I have noticed that after each round of low dose dmsa and ala , that I start getting a sinus infection ,and last for a few days , I have had to delay my next round untill the sinus infection clears up , It is like clock work . what could cause this type of reaction ? and does anyone else experience this ?

I don't know but isn't sinus infection a yeast sign? Since starting chelation i have lots of problems with yeast. I heard mercury in the bloodstream causes a yeast flare up.

could be that you have a low level infection there that flares up every time your immune system takes a slight dip, for example during chelation which is stressful to the body.
You could either try some natural anti-fungal or antiviral like GSE or OLE to try and clear it up, or support your adrenals so that they can produce the extra cortisol to clear up the infection. Or both.
My two cents..
Best
Nicola.

I take olive leaf extract to control the yeast and can not take any thing for the adrenals as it would raise my cortisol very quickly to a high level , the congestion isn't too bad , but the sinus head pain from the pressure is very intense at times

I seem to remember that Andy says something in his book about mercury being a possible cause of sinusitis. Can't remember how exactly. However, I am also sensitive to sinus problems and my sinuses do get irritated during chelation. If you're developing full-blown sinusitis then there are a couple things you can do. First, megadose vitamin C. Second, try learning neti and get yourself a good pot with some sea salt. For extra benefit you can add a little colloidal silver to the pot. Neti has been a huge help for me and it helps you to feel alert too; it's actually a pre-yogic cleansing practice.
It also helps not to eat sugar, grains or dairy products, but if you're battling candida then you're probably avoiding those things anyway.
Hope this helps <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Linda.

I get the same way Mikey.
I use the neti, and drops of oregano oil under the tongue. This keeps the sinuses in check.

Major sinus infection, started a few days after Christmas and just now getting better. The only thing I did different was add kelp to regime. I am still just using supplements. I saw some posts on iodine chelating and since kelp has iodine in it, well could that be what happened. I started taking it 3 days before I got sick. I have never had it that bad, major water works and chapped nose and lips so so bad. Any clues? Rachel
