Anyone tried this stuff? It sounds like it does what chlorella is "supposed to do" bind tightly to the mercury and remove it via the stool. It seems like it would be a very easy chelation experience if that is the case?

The first day I took 1 cap (750 mg Pectasol) @ lunch and felt a little lightheaded for about 15 minutes. Similar to when I take my Tryptophan in the morning (1g). Mood was a little better the rest of the day and I definitely felt better than normal for the second part of the work day. I was more thirsty than usual (hoping what was a good sign) and an extra bathroom trip as a result. A slight sweet taste in the "way back" of my throat.

Second day (today). Took 1 cap in the morning about an hour after the tryptophan. Again lightheaded. This time I took Spirulina about an hour after to try to give the kidneys a boost as I read and believe the mercury is drawn out through the urine.

Hi.
I was offered Pectasol by my Holistic Dr. but never followed through. I ended up just getting the dmsa.
If I change, I may give the Pectasol a go.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Take Care

Third day decided to step it up a little. In the morning 1 tsp chlorella powder (4g) and pectasol at the same time with a smidge of Selenium (about 30 mcg). Lunch time 1 tab Spirulina and Pectasol.

Decent day a little soreness in the kidney/adrenal area by the end of the day. When the back/kidney pain gets to a certain point I will back off. No anxiety yet (another sign to back off for me).

I'm hoping the Chlorella will help draw out the mercury and the Pectasol will mop it up. The selenium as a protective measure.

Also taking buffered vitamin C 750mg x 3, Maca, B5, B6, malic acid, zinc, tryptophan and tyrosine, pro-biotic, gluten enzyme, molybdenum and milk thistle. These are pretty much constant for each day. In the PM before bed, GABA, Taurine, Magnesium glycinate, aspirin.

Day 4 same as day 3. Felt better than usual but not great. Noticed that my liquid excretion has about doubled (hope thats a good sign). Some slight GI issues from the Chlorella I believe. Decent energy at the end of the day, light back pain today. I'm hopeful that the Pectasol, Adrenal support and Spirulina are helpful at managing the Chlorella.

I noticed in the study they were taking 15 grams per day for a few months. I'm taking 1/10th that so I shouldn't expect much in the way of side effects yet. I'm hopeful that my mercury excretion can be greater than my intake.

Same as yesterday, 2x Pectasol, 4 grams chlorella, 2x spirulina tabs and about 25 mg of Selenium. Mood much improved today. The time I feel crummy was reduced today to about a half hour or so. I felt a glutamate surge (a little anxious/jittery after lunch) that 100mg of Magnesium Glycinate took care of quickly. Some loose movement and again a few more trips to the restroom. I'll stay with this protocol for a while then maybe in a week ramp up the Pectasol a little.

Back/adrenals a little sore. I took 3 B5 capsules today (500 mg each) and maca for the adrenals. I think that and the spirulina are protecting me. My problem with chlorella before was that it wiped out my adrenals (possibly by mercury accumulating there). I don't feel that happening this time nearly as much.

12-19 again Pectasol in AM and lunch, 4g chlorella in AM and selenium in AM. Spirulina in AM and lunch.

Was a very good day. The days are getting slightly better each. Back pain is manageable. If it continues I will back down for a few days.

I intened to post weekly instead of daily or when I make a change.

I did another day after my last post using Chlorella. I had been taking the Chlorella with my OJ in the AM. this time I just used water like I did before when taking chlorella. It seemed like the chlorella was stronger. Anyway I was already feeling like my kidneys were getting stressed and moreso after this last day so I'm off the stuff for a few days. My Maca ran out so I'm not supporting the Adrenals like I want. I'll post more when I start back again.

It must be doing something because I know the kidneys can ache when mercury is being detoxed. I've had similar with DMSA and even on a good healthy candida diet, that can also be enough to aid my body is pushing more toxins out through the kidneys and other areas. hence the heavy achy feeling that results.

Sounds like you're responding ok to these products and if they seem to be working? I'd continue. I know some do very well on chlorella, so if it works, great. I found my system could not handle it too well, so I switched to Andy Cutler's protocol. Over time though, the more mercury removed, the more healing takes place and the more normality is restored to where you just don't react as much anymore to mobilising/chelating products.

We'll I've stopped for now and am stopping anything I think that moved mercury (had to take MSM for a few days because I needed the Molybdenum that was in the formula).

Funny when you're feeling a little better than usual you're ready to take on the world. Two weeks later you're feeling like death again...LOL

When I feel more stable I will start the pectasol again. I was doing well until I took the Chlorella with plain water. I was previously taking it with OJ in the AM and think the acid was deactivating some of the effects of the Chlorella.

I ran out of Molybdenum and after about a week I was sleeping very badly. For about 5 weeks my sleep was wonderful. I began ramping up on B6 (p5p) and Zinc + Mag. My dream recall returned. I was enjoying sleep much more. I didn't know that the Moly had improved my seep tremendously until it had time to wash out of my system.

From my personal experience the supplements that I believe move or chelate mercury are:

Chlorella
Selenium
MSM
Garlic
Folicin + B12 (methylation)
ALA

Bex, I'm not sure if it's my kidneys or adrenals. How could I tell, based on the locaiton of the soreness? I've read that the adrenals are tied somehow to low back muscle groups (5 of them) and if you're having low back pain also it mightbe adrenals.

I believe when I get anxious when taking something that might move mercury (happened BIG time last week my first day on MSM) and it ends up in the Adrenals. If I wasn't so used to it I probably would have been a panic attack.

I read that the glands particularly attract mercury.

I like spirulina too. I used chlorella quite a while (6 months or longer), but have stopped, didn't feel it was helping me anymore.

The only time my kidneys really really hurt was when I was really really sick. They were so loaded with mercury they just about stopped functioning. they were real swollen and sore, I could literally feel them like two huge kidney beans in my back, I could literally feel the shape of them.

I used an herbal colon cleanse to get them moving, it did work. Every now and then I still get an ache or two, I am not sure if it's mercury or an old injury there or a combo, but I drink lots of water on those days and use a chelator, generally cilantro, sometimes DMSA. Also, zinc seems to help a lot, along with the usual calcium/magnesium. I take the occasional ache there as a sign that I am slightly constipated. I actually don't think I have any major permanent damage. I noticed Dmsa or cilantro (great fiber) will make me unconstipated too so there is probably a connection to mercury or something causing the kidneys to slow down, and the chelators do seem to help loosen it.

Also eating oatmeal for breakfast in the morning seems to help keep the kidneys happy (no constipation).

hi sregan : do you have any amalgam fillings , the reason I ask is that cutler warns against ,chorella, msm ,and ala while they are still in ? they can do alot of damage to your recovery

I know that msm does mobilize mercury and does not remove it from the body .I had a bad reaction to it recently, ala is good if used in the cutler protocol after amalgams are removed

Spirulina and Buffered C are doing a lot to help me get through this. I'm a ittle worried about taking too much C. I'm taking a buffered 750 three times a day. I'm starting to think it's better to take half at my meals then the other half a couple of hours later to minimize stress on the kidneys to remove what vitamin I don't use.

I can't tolerate oatmeal, I do take gluten/casien enzymes with meals that contain those,

Yes, I've been a heavy cavity kid all my life and since the age of 10-12 had a mouthful of amalgams (10 or more). In the couple of years before my CFS I had some dental work done where the dentist removed amalgams and replaced with composite and had amalgams removed for root canals/crowns. After about 6 months of severe stress my system was a mess.

I've read that DMSA and DPMS should not be used as they might enter the saliva and leech mercury from the teeth. If they strongly bind mercury I don't see why it should be an issue if the mercury has bonded with the chelator why it should be a problem.

I recently read a article/post where someone mentioned he took DMSA, although he knew it was not recommended, got the positive chelation effect with no ill effects.

Does Andy mention that in his book? If so what page?

After some rough days I'm learning some things. Spirulina seems very GOOD at bringing me back to normalcy. Along with buffered C it works wonders. I've been reading that it helps the kidneys detox Mercury (found that in several places).

If Pectasol does what the study says (remove mercury via the kidneys) then spirulina would be an excellent addition to that protocol. Spirulina does have some sulfur that might need to be considered for dosage. I'm taking 500mg with lunch and dinner along with 750 calcium ascorbate (buffered C) with each and another buffered C at breakfast. Also taking B5 and MACA for adrenal support.

The spiriluna/C helped nullify my back pain almost immediately by the way and helping me sleep (Used to waking several times to urinate at night).

I need to add that for the last 3 days I have been taking ONLY Pectasol without anything else that should mobilize mercury as before I had taken with Chlorella and Selenium. This time I am having VERY few side effects. I'm pretty much as I normally am. I am getting a little soreness in the kidneys, slightly increased thirst and urination. I am taking 500mg spirulina and lots of buffered C along with MACA and B5 to support the adrenals.

We'll give this a try for a while. After a week or so if energy is good and low back soreness is still down (I have very little low back pain now and am sleeping much better on the Pectasol) I might start slowly increasing the dose (I'm taking 750mg Jarrow Tox-Guard twice a day).

I'm back on the Pectasol. I'm going to take 1 cap in the AM and take as much adrenal support as possible (adrenal gluanular, maca, buffered C, b5).
