Even Liberals Calling For Kansas AG To Resign

December 13, 2007 – The allegations made against Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison by his ex-mistress Linda Carter over the weekend have rocked Kansas politics and voters.
Carter filed an EEOC complaint against Morrison claiming that he had sexually harassed her during their two-year adulterous relationship. Both are married with children.

In addition to sexual harassment charges, however, Carter alleged that Morrison tried to get her to spy on Johnson County, Kansas District Attorney Philll Kline while she was the office manager of his office. Carter had worked for Morrison in that office and later when Kline took the position. Morrison was seeking inside information on Kline’s prosecution of the Overland Park, KS Planned Parenthood abortion mill.

Morrison, a former RINO (Republican In Name Only) Republican, had switched parties in 2006 to run against then-Attorney General Kline. At that time, Kline was pursuing an aggressive investigation against Wichita abortionist George Tiller.

According to well-respected columnist Robert Novak, Morrison’s campaign against Kline was largely funded by Tiller through his ProKanDo PAC. In addition, the Kansans for Consumer Privacy Protection spent more than $400,000. The Topeka Capital-Journal revealed in October 2006 that this privacy group shared the same mailing address as Tiller’s ProKanDo PAC.

In short, Morrison was a pro-abortion candidate in 2006 – and George “the killer” Tiller, was bankrolling his campaign against pro-lifer Philll Kline!

When Morrison defeated Kline for the Attorney General position, Republicans in Johnson County (JC) promptly elected Kline to fill Morrison’s post as JC District Attorney.

Now, Carter’s EEOC complaint against Morrison shows him to have been a fraud and a long-term adulterer who may have used his power as AG to subvert an investigation by Kline into criminal activities of the JC Planned Parenthood.

Even liberals who supported Morrison against Kline are calling for his resignation. Former Morrison supporter Mike Hendricks with the Kansas City Star is disgusted by the revelations about Morrison. In an editorial titled, “Don’t try to hang in there, Paul; Kansas needs a new attorney general,” Hendricks writes: “Paul Morrison’s political hide is beyond saving.” The allegations of meddling in an investigation by Kline is a battle that Morrison cannot win, says Hendricks.

The Kansas City Star also reported on the reaction of the so-called MAINstream Coalition, which supported Morrison for Attorney General. The MAINstream Coalition (MC) is a group of liberal or “moderates” who typically favor abortion and homosexual “rights.” According to Boo Tyson of the MC: “I don’t know that he’ll make it through this, and I don’t know if he should. It certainly calls into question whether we can trust his judgment, and whether we ought to trust his judgment.”

“The charges against Morrison, if true, are very serious,” said TVC Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. “Morrison has already admitted to having an adulterous affair with a subordinate while District Attorney and Attorney General. If Carter’s charges against him about tampering with an investigation by Kline into Planned Parenthood prove true, he should be booted from office, prosecuted, and lose his law license.
“Morrison was the abortion candidate and was funded by abortionists. It is likely that he felt obliged to pay back his friends in the abortion industry for helping get him elected. What other dark secrets about Morrison’s sexual affair are yet to be uncovered? Were there others?”

House Passes Resolution Favoring Christmas And Christianity

December 13, 2007 – The House of Representatives has passed a resolution by 732 to 9 to support Christmas and Christianity. Ten others refused to support it
by voting "present," and 40 others members did not vote.

The resolution says this:

“Whereas Christmas, a holiday of great significance to Americans and many other cultures and nationalities, is celebrated annually by Christians throughout the United States and the world...

“Whereas on December 25 of each calendar year, American Christians observe
Christmas, the holiday celebrating the birth of their savior, Jesus
Christ...

“Whereas many Christians and non-Christians throughout the United States and the rest of the world, celebrate Christmas as a time to serve others:

“Now, therefore be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives -- (1) recognizes the Christian faith as one of the great religions of the world; (2) expresses continued support for Christians in the United States and worldwide; (3) acknowledges the international religious and historical importance of Christmas and the Christian faith; (4) acknowledges and supports the role played by Christians and Christianity in the founding of the United States and in the formation of the western civilization; (5) rejects bigotry and persecution directed against Christians, both in the United States and worldwide; and (6) expresses its deepest respect to American Christians and Christians throughout the world.”

The nine members who voted against the Christmas Resolution were all Democrats: Ackerman (NY), Clarke (NY), DeGette (CO), Hastings (FL), Lee (CA), McDermott (WA), Scott (VA), Stark (CA) and Woolsey (CA). The 10 who answered "present" without entering a vote were also Democrats except one: Conyers (MI), Frank (MA), Holt (NJ), Payne (NJ), Pence (Republican from IN), Schakowsky (PA), Schwartz (PA), Wasserman-Schultz (FL), Welch (VT) and Yarmuth (KY).

The roll call vote on this resolution is posted here: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2007/roll1143.xml.

All but two of the representatives who answered "present" or voted against the Christmas resolution voted in favor of a resolution recognizing Ramadan, which passed by a 376-0 vote in October! You can see the vote on Ramadan which is posted online at: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2007/roll928.xml.

Senator James Inhofe Opposes New ‘Climate Change’ Bill

December 13, 2007 – Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) is aggressively opposing passage of a liberal-inspired bill, the Lieberman-Warner Climate Security Act Of 2007, S. 2191.

The bill passed out of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee by a vote of 11 to 8 on December 5. Sen. Inhofe formerly chaired this committee when the Republicans controlled the Senate. Radical leftist Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) now chairs this committee.
According to Sen. Inhofe, S. 2191 will make energy prices go higher and mean the loss of millions of American jobs. If S. 2191 passes, electricity prices are expected to go from 35% to 65% in just seven years. In addition, this bill could result in an estimated loss of 1.5 to 3.4 million jobs by 2010.

Sen. Inhofe notes that the bill doesn’t even mention the word “nuclear.” “You simply cannot ignore the world’s largest source of emission-free energy if you plan to cut carbon emissions and still keep the lights on.”

Sen. Inhofe’s web site has regular updates on the issue of climate change/global warming. His “Skeptics Guide” on global warming is must reading for anyone who wants to be fully informed about the global warming scam being pushed by Al Gore liberalism.

The Politically Incorrect Guide To Global Warming And Environmentalism by Christopher C. Horner provides a wealth of information on the bogus claims being made by radical environmentalists about global warming – and describes the real objective of these radicals: global governance and the loss of national sovereignty.

December 13, 2007 – An anti-church film “The Golden Compass” opened last weekend with only $26 million in sales – far below the $30 to $40 million expected.

The poor ticket sales could be attributed to a Catholic League boycott of the film. The League has called upon all Catholics to avoid going to see the movie because of its anti-Christian themes.

The film is a sanitized and popularized version of atheist Phillip Pullman’s fantasy series, which includes His Dark Materials, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass.

“The theme in all of these books is that the church is an oppressive institution that must be overthrown. At the end of the series, a group of children kill God who is shown to be a feeble old impostor,” said TVC Chairman Rev. Louis P. Sheldon. Anti-Christian homosexual activist actor Ian McKellen is the voice of the armored bear in the film. (McKellen was also in the anti-Christian film, “The Da Vinci Code” and has admitted that he rips apart Gideon Bibles when he is staying at hotels. Except for playing Gandalf, the good wizard in “Lord of the Rings,” McKellen seems lately to be choosing homosexual-themed or anti-Christian films.)
Atheist Pullman told an Australian paper that he is “saying things that are far more subversive than anything poor old Harry [Potter] has said. My books are about killing God.”
Christian theologian Dr. Albert Mohler has an excellent commentary on The Golden Compass.

Why Does AIDS Gets Lion’s Share Of Federal Dollars?

December 13, 2007 – A study by the FAIR Foundation questions why so many millions of dollars are being spent by the federal government on AIDS research when other diseases are given so little funding. The group’s name is an acronym for “Fair Allocations In Research” and was founded by Dr. Richard Darling, a California dentist.

FAIR is calling for a fair and equitable distribution of research funds involving a number of diseases that kill far more individuals than does AIDS.

The group features a number of graphs and charts showing that Congress and National Institutes of Health (NIH) are spending vast amounts of research funds on AIDS research while spending very little on 16 diseases that result in more deaths.

Figures for 2006 indicate that NIH research money budgeted per AIDS death amounted to $182,807 compared to only $14,236 for diabetes; $12,403 for Parkinson’s Disease; $10,182 for Alzheimer’s Disease. Other diseases receive even less research funds from NIH.
FAIR also gives credit to TVC for taking on the NIH over its funding policies involving AIDS!

“TVC exposed the fact that NIH was funding questionable or wasteful studies involving homosexuality and AIDS,” said TVC Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. “Our Special Report on this misuse of federal tax dollars is still relevant today."

Canadian Muslim Girl Killed By Father

December 13, 2007 – A Canadian Muslim man is in jail on charges that he killed his daughter. Friends of the dead girl say the murder was the result of an argument over her refusal to wear a head scarf.

Aqsa Parvez, 16, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition on Monday and died there. According to her girlfriend, Ashley Garbutt, Aqsa “didn’t want to go home … to the point where she actually wanted to go to shelters.”

A spokesman for the Canadian Islamic Congress, Mohamed Elmasry said: “I don’t want the public to think that this is really an Islamic issue or an immigrant issue. It’s a teenager issue.”

However, so-called “honor killings” are widespread among fundamentalist Muslim families. Europe is experiencing a rash of these killings involving fathers who kill their wives or their daughters over cultural clashes.

England is one nation with a high population of Muslims and is facing a growing problem with honor killings. Earlier this year, a 25-year-old Muslim woman named Samaira Nazir of London was murdered by her father, brother and cousin for wanting to refuse to submit to an arranged marriage. She was stabbed 18 times with four different knives. British authorities have reopened 119 suspicious deaths of women who are suspected of being victims of honor killings.

In February 2007, a Muslim husband in England was arrested for killing his wife and four daughters for being westernized by British culture. Mohammed Riaz killed his family by pouring gasoline over them while they slept and setting them afire.

Similar incidents are occurring all over Europe where there are high populations of fundamentalist Muslims who refused to assimilate into the culture.

In fact, things are so bad, that a StopHonourKillings blog has been established to discuss and oppose the barbaric practice.

Jihad Watch, operated by Islamic radicalism expert Robert Spencer provides daily updates on Islamic extremism.
