Skieslimit: My last round of DMSA was rough because I have been experimenting. The early rounds have not been easy, so I have to tinker a bit to get it right. The tinkering went wrong last weekend and yes it hurt like hell. But I learned a lot, I learned enough so that my next round was excellent. I have now found what I can and cannot handle when chelating. Everyone is different and it has taken me 5 rounds to find my ideal dose and my ideal cycle length. Phew!
Shawn: yes the purpose of my post was exactly that, positive encouragement that you can get copper levels down. I did. And that’s how I did it. I got my digestion working and added specific supplements as per Cutler.
PGM: It took me a long time to understand what amalgam illness actually meant to me and my body. That the mercury goes everywhere. Everywhere inside me is stuffed full of mercury. Some areas more than others, but nevertheless everywhere. That’s why Amalgam Illness is such a long book. It is full of ways to support all of my compromised organs. The detox protocol is piss easy. Take DMSA or DMPS and/or ALA in low doses for a long long time. Simple. You don’t need a long book to set out the protocol, but because everything in me is screwed, everything needs support, it is very difficult to know what/where/how and the book tells me how to do all that.
Everything I investigate about my body is compromised. Everything. I didn’t know anything about thyroids 2 months ago, I thought that was lady stuff!
Now that I know everything is screwed, I realise that no one thing will suddenly heal me. Sorting out my copper levels was never gonna cure me, everything needs sorting and that is gonna take time. But now I got one less thing to sort out.
Doing all the things I do to help myself is designed to get me better and allow me to continue working and having a family life. They are not designed to get my copper levels down from some lab test result.
Sunshine, despite getting your copper levels down, you can probably agree with me that that didn't help you much. Still many problems left, brain fog, mental problems etc.?
I must say I could not disagree with your comment more.
Copper poisoning is a serious thing and it is one of the first things that one should go about sorting out. (the symptoms are the same as for mercury poisoning.) Which is why I addressed it and why I did hair tests so close together. It is very motivating for me to see the results of my labours reflected in the lab results,
(and I can add some for foods back into to my diet, hooray!)
I consider myself very very lucky to be healing and getting better, so many people (on this forum alone) are struggling badly and don’t know which way to turn. I am considerably better that I was. I am healing…..hallelujah! Sorting out my copper problem was just another step up my ladder to good health. At one point just sitting on the train to work was unbelievably painful. I had to sit on the train everyday and focus on not hurting. Everyday for 12 months, no reading newspapers, nor books or anything just focus on……. no pain. I have come a long long way from those nightmare days.
I assume everyone with mercury poisoning is the same as me….ie the mercury is everywhere, and everythings needs support…so the quicker people realise that, the quicker they can start taking actions and the quicker they can start getting better…
So no I disagree with yr comment. Everything little thing that I do …… helps.
