Hi Shawn, it is normal to feel cr*ppy during mercury detox, no matter how "safe" the product. And it's a sign things are happening, but when it reaches a point where the symptoms are insane, then stop. I often pushed myself to continue or I would repeat it again later, even after so much agony.

I feel now this was quite wrong, because damage could have been done to me during this. But at that stage, I didn't know how else to go about it, until I discovered andy's protocol which suited me much better.

Chlorella doesn't bind to mercury that strongly, it mobilises it. In moving it around, it can make you feel sick. Some of it may come out during this though, which maybe why you feel a little better again later. But for some people the mobilising causes far too many horrible symptoms and usually they need to do something else.

You maybe ok with chlorella, it may not tip you over the edge. Andy doesn't recommend it at all, he feels people should stay away from it. But again it's individual and some people do ok on it and reckon it's detoxed their mercury.

It definitely does do something because when I used to use it, though sometimes I'd go almost insane, it would move mercury for sure and some of it obviousy did come out over time. But again at what cost?

I don't believe it absorbs mercury as much as it moves it around. So that will be why your symptoms feel worse.

Selenium, apparenty competes with mercury binding sites and can displace mercury which might also cause a redistribution. During that, some of the mercury "may" come out, but it also helps protect you against mercury and is a good powerful antioxidant. I would recommend selenium personally as part of any protocol for mercury. I think it is good to take. but again NOT if it makes you TOO sick. Lower the dose if that happens or stop if you cannot tolerate any of it.

I used to find the most helpful and powerful vitamins were simply vitamin C, vitamin E and selenium. Additions to that may help, but they were the ones I mostly stuck to in that area.

I found that detox symptoms with mercury could fluctuate and sometimes were extremely intense. Symptoms for me could be any of the following or all of them - crying, salivating, rashes, nausea, muscle aches, exhaustion, metal taste, metal smell, feeling just yuck (I can't explain it), basically all my symptoms would intensify, depression, anxiety, brain fog, drugged feeling, swollen tongue, etc.

I think you can take selenium permanently if you feel you can handle it, or at a dose you can handle. Because it's protective. I am not sure about the chlorella, you'd have to go by how you feel. If you feel like a break? take it and for as long as you want.

It's down to how you feel. I was so poisoned with mercury at one stage, I coudl not even take much selenium or all the time. That was enough in itself to cause eruption of symptoms, probably because the mercury had already been easily accessible by a DMPS IV infection which I think moved so much mercury into more surface areas. I was VERY sick from that Injection and it forced so much mercury everywhere, that it didn't take much to stimulate further excretion!

Even vitamin C powder was enough sometimes to cause an eruption of symptoms. I think it's because they are powerful antioxidants (C, E and selenium) and increase glutathione, which aids the removal of toxins. Which is great, but not to the point where you cannot handle the symptoms.

I took breaks when I required them and took only what I could handle in the end. I learned to stop forcing myself to do what I could not handle. Even then I went over the top many times. It was such an unpredictable poison to deal with, I never knew what to expect.
