Welcome Shawn,
I was 24 when my hair tests showed elevated metals, copper, lead, aluminium, mercury, tin, maybe others,I cannot remember, but copper was nearly off the charts. I don't actually know how I was not hospitalised at some point,I certainly was a candidate.I am now 28 but have only gone through the amalgam removal over the last couple of months. And so am still suffering symptoms...some days much better &some not so good but I have not had a really awful day in afew weeks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" />which is great.
You mentioned that you have stopped dreaming of the future, probably because you need to just take one day at a time for the moment anyway, the best part is you are so young. You are 23 ,you have found out that you have heavy metal toxicity and you have found this forum, and come to the right place for support &information on how to get yourself well, so that's all positive. You said you have hope too and that amounts to so much.
I feel I can completely understand when you said about seeing glimpses of the "real you",I could have written this myself, I feel l have so much potential that I never reached so far in my life but I am hoping to get there someday. And it's a challenge to be positive &feel patient all the time, especially if you've had a few good days followed by a setback. I try to think of these years as my cocoon years and I am going to emerge when I'm ready and will be stronger than ever.Being sick teaches you so much about what is important in life. When you are better you will appreciate all the things you could not enjoy before. Welcome again. Sunflower
