It probably didn't hurt you very much either unless he breast fed your mother.
I am spawned from 100% far east european blood, very red peasant blood. northeast europe, like where Europe meets Russia near the baltic sea.
I know a lot about cabbage and stuff like that. Cabbage was a staple in our house like potatos are a staple in most american households. Most of my family were too poor to afford dentists until my parents came along with health insurance, which they we're often abused for by our dentist when I was a kid. All of my sisters and my brother have (had) a mouthful of fillings in pretty much the exact same spots.
All of my grandparents left europe around 1904-1905 with their parents, all were born in europe and lived as farmer/peasants. 2 of my grandparents barely spoke English.
My grandparents were all pretty healthy. One grandfather was an alcoholic and was killed by a car in his mid-70's, drunk in a snowstorm. His wife lived to be almost 90, died of a stomach blockage (worms?). The other grandfather also lived to be 89, quite healthy till his last year of life, he died of a skin cancer near his eye which he refused treatment for... he hated doctors. His wife my grandma, lived to be 88 or 89 also, she died 3 weeks after my mother put her into a senior's home, probably of a broken heart.
For the most part, I do not remember any of them ever being ill otherwise. Rarely even a cold. But, my mom died of cancer. She was an RN and very big on doctors. She had had lupus for years, no one else has it in the family. She's the only one in our family, aunts uncles, cousins included (lots and lots), who ever died of cancer, with the exception of grandpa's old age melanoma. She died pretty young for our family, age 72, she was very sick for 4-5 years prior to that. She did have amalgams But I wasn't breast fed, it was out of vogue when I was born. I refused to drink formula as a baby too so they gave me cow's milk. I survived. Cow's milk was probably a lot safer back then, early '60's.
I have one aunt (married in so not truly blood related) who also died of a nasty cancer pretty young, mid-60's. She was big on doctors too. She overused antibiotics for years and then got cancer and died.
I have a brother and sister with a rare genetic disorder that they say can only be acquired if both parents carry the rare messed up gene. A drawback to being 100% anything. My brother is quite healthly at age 49, my little sister is not doing so well but I have to attribute her a lot of her non-wellness to drug use, drinking, and dirty lifestyle. She has gotten into a lot of wierd stuff over the years. I have another sister whose health is like mine, always good. though she committed herself herself to a mental institution for a couple weeks once and ended up on prozac for awhile and then ended up divorced. She seems to be ok now. She drinks a lot and probably does other things too, She has lots of money for things like that and does go that direction now and then.. She loves doctors too.
We all had chicken pox and mumps as kids, never did catch measles. I have had a really bad cold maybe 3 times in my life, never once a staph infection or strep throat. I got blood poisoning in my early twenties after cleaning a NYC apt though.
When I got sick last year after the dental work, I was sicker than I had ever been in my life. I am allergic to certain plastics and since about age 21-22 have tried very hard to keep away from certain things. Certain types of plastics will actually make my lungs bleed though I haven't experienced that in years, I have to really overdo it with 2-part catalized resins (like dentists use today) for that to happen.
