Sorry I have not been posting much but I have had a lot of catching up to do with my reading. I got the Andrew Culter book and have been looking at advice for adrenal and thyroid support. I got myself a thermometer and have been taking my temperature (very low) and am going to see my GP next week to get some tests done for free before I start to order more. At the least he will do my TSH I know as I get it done every year. For the rest I have doubts and if he will not prescribe Armour should I decide to go on it, then I will be parting company with him and looking for a GP who will.
I must say that I have been very discouraged, with the more information I find. I really am worried about going through it all. I was poisoned as a baby 57 years ago with mercury teething powders and was very ill in hospital and now I see the reason for my problems right through my life. Has anyone else had difficult relationships? My birth family could not deal with me due to my problems and I became an outsider in my family and then eventually became a 'hypochondriac' and never had any support or help.
Then I played with mercury as a child, and had a massive dose of pesticide later on, and the amalgams so I pretty sick with severe MCS and electrical sensitivity. It looks pretty tough where I am living to get help. I would have to travel over 300 miles to see one of the better dentists and then stay in a highly polluted environment to get the amalgam and the extraction done. I know I cannot ask anyone whether I will be fit enough to go through it all, no-one can know I expect and it will be risky I am sure.
One of the things that I have thought about is to come to the US. I can buy an RV and go to wherever is best to treat me, for help with detoxing too. I won't be fit to do this for quite a while as I am quite poor at present, but following a careful diet so will improve.
I just would like to ask if anyone has any thoughts about this idea?

Has anyone else had difficult relationships? I have always thought of myself as someone who could get along with 99% of all people out there; I am a passive, non-demanding person. But mercury made me different. It is strange, as you can know something is wrong, but think it is just you, and not know it is a toxin in your system. I lost friends along the way - they could not possibly know how mercury can affect you physically and mentally. Oh, well. The RV trip sounds like a possible idea - get yourself as strong as possible through whatever means. Hope you work something out, mati. TW

Hi Mati, It sounds like you've really been through alot, and with no support too. I can understand when you question whether you are fit enough to go through the process of removal &detox. I felt like that too,and even now,I feel like I'm the only person who can answer some of the questions and I am now my own practitioner too. I have been doing my own research and experimenting &finding what does &does not suit.I feel I have to do this as there is so many conflicting advice &confusion on this matter. I hope this makes any sense.
The RV idea seems like a good way to get around, you could always stop &rest if you needed and the U.S. seems to be where it's at for the mercury experts. Have you anyone you could take with you for support?
Right now though, take your time to get stronger, diet can be so powerful in transforming our health I really admire you ,taking these steps to get well. I feel discouraged at times too but also know that our bodies are constantly working to put everything back in proper order to the best ability. And I feel I can understand about the family &relationships.

Hi Mati, congrats on getting probably one of the best books on amalgam toxicity and how to get well. I have it myself.
But just be careful about trying to take in all the information. Mercury toxic people usually become overwhelmed and dishearted very very easily, even over relatively small things and his book is NO small thing to get through. I simply could not cope.
So I took out what I knew I could handle and left the rest. I think his basic supplement recommendation, his chelation protocol and recommending mercury people to treat yeast was the best for me at that time. You can always add more later. But often the more poisoned you are, the more you cannot handle.
For me, diet to starve out excess candida was ESSENTIAL to rid myself of many symptoms or at least control some, chelation, and the good supplements. There is a lot of stuff to wade through in his book and many people find it quite difficult.
Also Hal Huggins is another good one, though I don't find his chelation protocol the best. But his dietry advice was spot on. No sugar, no caffeine, (I had to rid fruit and gluten grains and high carb veg like potatoes too, as they all feed yeast), and the addition of protein foods like meats, eggs and fats like butter are helpful in this condition. Hal mentions this and says that these foods/fats aid healing and I believe he is right. Dr Weston Price is an excellent reference to the right diet. His studies say it all! You could check him out on the net.
Your problems with relationships are echoed by myself and I'm sure a multitude with this toxic condition! For me that's been an issue for all my toxic life. I was also referred to as a hypocondriac because of my many strange symptoms, but because nothing showed on the outside apart from a pale face, I was not taken seriously by most people.
I also had trouble relating to others and withdrawing for the most part. Tendency to hide away, rather than go out. That is very sad, and is part of the syndrome. I've had moments of better health and suddenly I cannot help but WANT to go out. So definitey do not blame yourself. Mercury inteferes with normal responses in the body and mind/personality.
It can even cause or contribute to obsessive compulsive disorder and the strange ritualistic behaviours. So it's scary stuff. The main thing is to know that you're not alone and that mercury is most definitely capable of messing up anything in the body and brain and so often it's completely missed as a cause or factor.
So take the meat out of Andy's book and spit out the bones. Only take on the little you can at the time, you can always add more later.
If you have the financial ability to get yoruself the best care you can? Use it. Because it's best to be too careful, rather than take unnecessary risks, especially with this toxin. It is horrible to be almost too sick to even do things to get well.

Hi Bex, I agree about the information being overwhelming, it's good to take a break from it,and do something unrelated (if possible) like watch a funny film. I took a break from all the research for a week or so and found this helped as I was not focusing on it too much & I felt much better for that mind rest. Bex,you always know the right thing to say,you always give the best advice!

Hello everyone
Thanks so much for those words of encouragement and support. It is so reassuring to know that the feelings I have are common to others who are toxic. I have had so little faith in myself, so I am grateful for reassurance. Yes now I see that I always have become overwhelmed very easily, and it has affected my self esteem, and have always thought that I was lazy, and stupid, it has been a wonderful revelation to know that it is the mercury. It is the key that has answered so many questions in my life, as I have been like this for as long as I remember, though getting worse over time, having been poisoned so young. Particularly it has explained my relationships, due to the withdrawing and inability to feel or express feelings. It is like I have lived in a fog of utter confusion. Now there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Another thing that has affected me is that I change so much. I think that this is also a reason why I have trouble in relationships. I can be dead for a while, then improve, and if I stick to a good diet without sugar, wheat, caffeine and eat basically like the way that has been mentioned by you, I improve and get around, and start to build up my activity levels but it is so changeable and this is why some or all rather, think that it is all in my head. I always crash, I think it is because I get lax with the diet once I am feeling better but for whatever reason the crash can be profound. maybe it is a dumping of the mercury when I improve the excretion from my blood. Or maybe the exercise causes it. I thought I had CFS, in fact that is the diagnosis but i saw that I was different to the others I was in contact with, less stable and able to do more when not in relapse, and not having a reason for the relapses. Also more brain fogged.
Also I have been unable to say what I mean, and get my thought together especially in the presence of more than one person. It must have been trying for others who did not understand. I can't tell you how much this is helping me, to understand myself and gain confidence in myself knowing it is the mercury.
So I will take it slowly thanks Bex, and just do a little at a time. I think my thyroid has got worse for a few weeks due to increase of certain symptoms so it is the first thing i need to sort out.
I have always wondered why diet has had such a profound effect on me, and am on a good one again, and starting to feel a bit better, excluding the things mentioned, especially sugar and wheat which are both very bad for me. I am still eating potatoes though but will cut them right back. I went on an anti-candida diet for 2 years but it drove me crazy I kind of knew that there were certain things I must never eat if i wanted to function, but usually ended up going back on them.
I have read that it is better to eat ghee than butter so I make it myself. It cuts out the dairy proteins too as they become brown bits in the pan.
Thanks Bex, yes i am not going to take any risks and do things slowly and first of all improve my health through diet and the supplements i am on. I see that i can trust my body more if I listen to it something I have had to do a lot with not getting any medical help ever, and having to become my own doc. A good thing I think in the long run.
Thanks so much folks, I feel much less overwhelmed and worried now. And that is a good idea to take a break because yes i do get obsessive with things
The RV would be my new home, (no I would be on my own) I would be selling up here and staying in the States (and they are so much cheaper there) for a year so that i can import the van without tax,and then spend my time in Europe going south for the winters. It's something i have fancied for ages as I have no ties here. The only thing would be whether i could stick to a really good diet having less room for everything. I would be able to see some experts though.
It is so great to find you all after struggling for so long on my own, just to survive really.
For now I have set myself 6 months to improve my health so that i can make a start at healing properly at last and hopefully improve some relationships which have been badly effected, some of them I guess will never be restored as me saying 'it was mercury' will just be thought of as making excuses for myself.
Bless you all Mati
