Yesterday I went to see a few doctors as my symptoms have been getting worse lately again and my chest has been hurting etc. So I had some tests done and an x ray which I guess was fine. While I was at the doctors my heart was going 140 beats per minute and at that moment I had chills and was shaking. Of course doctors had no clue what was causing this and they did not want to consider mercury as they said this had nothing to do with it even though I insisted that I felt sick since my amalgams were improperly removed and I feel poisoned. So instead they sent me to a neurologist who diagnosed me with depression and wanted to put me on prosac!! You cannot imagine how furstrated and angry I got, knowing what's wrong with me and not being able to get any help. It was just easier for them to diagnose me with something since all of my results seem normal. I told the doctors I strongly disagree with their diagnosis, and I am really mad that I spent the money and time to see them. I am also frustrated that it's taking so long for my symptoms to go away, there is some improvement over all, but on the bad days I can hardly imagine what it's like to feel good again.

I've been to see doctors for over ten years about hyperglycemia , rhinitis, and fertility problems, and always they tell me I'm "normal".
I personally don't think our British doctors will acknowledge mercury poisoning because it makes the government liable to pay for treatment and compensation. I also don't think they believe it is possible, because they all go to the same colleges and come out like robots saying and doing the same thing and dishing out drugs. They know what the government wants them to know. No offense to any doctors here, who are obviously more forward thinking, but this is my experience of GP's in general.

Nina,
I honestly relate to your experience. I have been ill for around seventeen months, and for the first eight months i saw LOTS of doctors NHS AND privately (which are the same docs as NHS only we pay! I was admitted to hospital in the early stages with high temperatue barely able to function, they found nothing to be wrong with me, I had such bad CONSTANT nausea i could barely eat and retched and gagged over my food, i was terrified as weight was dropping of me, i look anorexic, i HAD to push myself through the awfull nausea. I became inolerant to one food after another, drenching night sweats, flushing face and extremities, foggy brain, burning sensations, sore throat, hairloss (half the volume) dizzyness, so weak i trembled, eyesight probems, insomnia/nightime waking, loss of temperature control, joint pain, constipation, digestive chaos, a visible lump in my stomach region that conventional docs checked me out for (ultrasound/endoscopy/colonoscopy) i was told i had IBS and my symptoms were just nerves, i later found through tests this was gut fermentation caused by candida caused by the metals!!! I also had blood in my urine and bad kidney pain, with the urine test strips i used i ALLWAYS had leukocytes in my urine which are present were there is inflammation, also specific gravity is ALLWAYS fixed, a sign of kidney damage, the ultrasound and bloodtests were normal so doctors said the strip results were unimportant they declared me well (FANTASTIC) and offered me antidepresants, they were arrogant and patronising and made me feel even worse than i allready was!! i felt Sooo helpless. Eventually i had lymphocyte sensitivity test that showed me to be reacting to nickel and mercury, also toxic screen for liver showed 50% abnormal enzymes consistant with exposure to a toxic metal (nickel) about a month after safe removal this dropped to 20%, i am now reacting to my composites, i am sure if i had sorted out the amalgams sooner my immune system wouldnt be in such turmoil. PLEASE dont let the docs upset you, THEY ARE BULLYS when we produce symptoms they cannot explain, they dont have the good grace to say i dont know, only you know how you feel, trust yourself, Demi is right we have to take our health into our own hands, it is just hard to comprehend in this day and age that we could very easily be left to rot by these ~#*&@$#* I have changed my GP, but have not consulted with my new one, i have no faith in them, my old GP told me that all my symptoms were in my head....he was right. The main thing is Nina you have identified your problem, and know what to treat.
Take Care Ann

Thanks Demi and Ann. I opently told the doctor that I disagree with their diagnosis and that I am the only one in my body, hence I know something is going on, and it's not depression for crying out loud! But you are right, as soon as they see something they cannot diagnose since they do not know how, then they say it's all in your head because this is the easiest diagnosis for them, and others are quick to believe that. It takes a lot of courage to recognize that we have a problem and that problem is mercury. It is hard for people to believe the truth so they will rather spend their lives living in a lie.

Nina, conventional doctors will not recognize CHRONIC mercury poisoning. They are only trained to recognize and treat "ACUTE" mercury poisoning, e.g. broken thermometer exposure. The reason they will never recognize it is because they are told in medical school that mercury amalgams are "perfectly safe". The AMA and ADA stick together. There are many doctors out there who know the truth and who know how to help people with this problem. You have to seek them out. You want to look for a practice familiar with "biodynamic" medicine therapies. You could start by calling maybe a Homeopathic doctor and asking them to refer you to someone like this or perhaps going to a naturopathic doctor and having them refer you. Generally speaking, they all know eachother and about eachother because they attend similar conferences. For example, I have found these great doctors now that I am working with. You can read my latest post labeled "my update, Gosh!". I found out about them through my homeopathic doctor. These doctors were only 15 minutes from me and I would never have known they existed. I hope this helps.

I didn't mean biodynamic. I meant biomedical. Sorry. Sandra

One thing I will add about the Homeopathics, is make sure it's one who knows about mercury poisoning. The holistic dentist I saw, who was into homoepathy, said that I could have cancer or Lyme's Disease, and that while mercury can cause problems, it wouldn't be causing all mine. He went on about my bite and my skeleton and thought he had answers about things without even examining me. In short, he was rude, arrogant, uncaring, very uninterested in the whole mercury poisoning issue, and treated me like a money machine.
So, I'd just say make sure they take the issue seriously and believe it is possible before spending good money - I spent a lot to see him, and I might aswell have thrown it down the toilet.
