Hi everyone. I'm new here. I would tell you about myself but I can't remember where I last left my brain! I might go to the Mad-Hatter's tea party later.I move so slowly that I can't keep up with my pet sloth.
I am so pleased that I discovered info on Mercury Poisoning. I am not even considering replacing my fillings. Being as all my molars and pre-molars are 90% amalgam above the gumline, and several have root canal fillings, there doesn't seem much point. Unfortunately I probably won't get much done before Christmas especially as we have our summer holidays then. I would like to contact other New Zealanders to find out how they have coped with working through the systems. I'm lucky to have an open-minded GP but he is tolerating my decisions.
I am getting tests done step by step, so that I can show my GP a measurable improvement. It will take a bit longer, but I don't want any doubts about why my health improves later.
I am even having an IQ test done so that I have a measurable result for changes in brain function. Of course it may just prove that I'm simply not very bright at all, but I can't do these tests in retrospect.
For the first time in many years I feel that there is a future for me. I was getting so bad that I had visions of my mother visiting me in the dementia wing of a care facility! . . . . . and she is 26 years older than me. Luckily, she had dentures at an early age.
Russ, I have a small request. There are an awful lot of abreviations which get bandied about in all the symptoms and treatments. For the sake of us "new" people, would you please start a glossary section? There is so much info to take in to start with that remembering abbreviations is in the "too hard" basket.
Looking forward to future communications.

Hello and Welcome to the forum Carol.

Congratulations on getting this far, on figuring out that mercury could be a problem for you. Very few people do, you should consider yourself extremely fortunate, millions of people will never get better.

With all your teeth stuffed full of amalgam it is highly likely that you too, like me, have got this dreaded illness, caused by mercury.

It is curable. You can and probably will get better.

However the path to recovery is fraught with danger. There is so much conflicting advice. The doctors of this world know little, if anything about it, and are more likely to hurt you in their attempts to help you.

It’s great that you not going to rush in and do anything rash.

Educating yourself is the number one most important thing to be able to get better. Forget the doctors, you have to learn what you need to do for yourself. The doctors don’t know $hit.

Whatever you do, however you go about helping yourself, under no circumstances whatsoever, should you start removals without proper protection. I don’t care how little money you got, if you do the removal wrong, you will totally screw yourself up much worse that u are now. Many many people, me included, did it wrong and paid a heavy heavy price.
Protection is rubber dam and oxygen, removal in the correct order etc…lots of different things.

You will see repeated reference to Andy Cutler and his book “amalgam Illness” – he is a mercury guru and this book should be bought and read asap. You will learn so much and be given so many ideas and paths to get better. It is a lot to take in at first, but this book will make your recovery much easier, quicker and safer.

Ideally you should read it before you start anything else you see suggested on this forum. Remember what works for some does not work for others, if you read this book, you will know all the pro’s and con’s of whatever actions you take.

“It’s all in your head” by Hal Huggins is also essential reading. He tells you why and how you have been screwed up. However his detox (chelation) protocol has been much less beneficial than the Cutler protocol.

Welcome, ask lots of questions and start reading learning and educating.

Thankyou Sunshine P for your comments and helpful advice. The more research I do, the more angry and perplexed I become. The thought that so many people are being poisoned this way is really scary. With medical services being overstretched already, how bad is it going to be after2012 when all the post-war "baby-boomers" start retiring, and need so much care. Will "They" give us a pill to take to end our suffering? How many of us are already unable to work and put money aside for our old age? I haven't been able to work for 6 years, and was struggling to keep going before then. If I had known about the effect mercury was having on my health 8 years ago, I had the money to pay for the very best treatment. Now I have to grovel for handouts. How many more are there like me?
Thanks again for your help
Carol

Yes, Carol, my mind boggles at the number of people this must be happening to and they will never figure it out. I think the average person in the western world has an average of 5 amalgams in his or her mouth.

It is horrid, I found talking to normal people about this most discouraging too. They just can’t believe it. It is astounding that this is happening today. Mercury is still put in people mouths every single day. I try not to think of that anymore.

I am past that, I gotta focus on helping myself. The more I understand the easier it is to continue battling on. For sure it is a battle.

As I said before, congratulations on finding yourself here. Now you can learn what you can do to get this crap out of your mouth safely. Then, how to detox yourself safely. Curing Mercury illness comes in two phases.
Number 1. safe amalgam removal.
Number 2. safe mercury detox.

Welcome aboard, I assure you it will be quite an exciting ride

Hi Carol
Welcome to the forum sorry it was these cicumstances that brought you here but you are one step forward now. Sunshine has said it all, education is the key, doctors don't know how to help us.
I know what you mean about the groveling, I can only work about 4 hours a day and have been at that pace for 10 years. I hate not being able it really sucks. Other people do not understand why you can't work and see nothing wrong with you. I had a chance at a job full time in a health food store recently but was too scared to take it because I didn't think I could hold up to 40 hours a week. I seem to fall down in the afternoons and didn't think they would appreciate a zombie running around trying to help other people get well. I am on the road to recovery but is a very slow process but I have great hope of regaining my lost health. I am doing every thing I can to detox. Even all the off the wall stuff and anything that seems less expensive since the money is very tight. Things are working slowly and wishing I was 2 or 3 years down this road but am willing to be patient as I know it took many years to get to this point.
Anyways I just wanted to say welcome and education is your key to opening the door to your regained health. Study, study that is the name of the game with the mercury. Hang in there...there are better days awaiting.
