As you all know my liver is in a pretty bad way. I have been taking Milk Thitle everday, can anyone reccommend anything else. What pisses me off is the GP I saw yesterday have blamed it all on alcohol abuse. It makes me angry. We all seem to have a problem with liver function, which dont seem to be working that great. Ihave never been a heavy drinker all my life. Some people I met in hospital had been drinking for years and theres was in better condition than mine. They are never prepared to listen to the whole picture. Typical NHS Thanks guys. Tracy xxxx

Hi Tracy, well I keep getting told whenever I get liver testing done, blood or otherwise that my liver is "beautiful" (if only the rest of me reflected that) oh well at least one part of me is. But I do have a problem with the pathways themselves, where liver phase one is too fast, liver phase II is underactive and that can be from long term toxicity or "genetic uniqueness".
However, the liver itself is in apparently superb condition, which surprised me. I found the reason for this was me eating healthy foods and avoiding junk/sugar. But more than that was the addition of raw foods to my diet.
That's what REALLY did it. Basically eating a raw salad most days. Eating things like sliced cucumber, alfalfa, tomatoe, lettuce, celery. I'd just slice them up and that would be it. If I felt more energetic? I would add more to it like a pile of grated carrot/cabbage/beetroot and if I could handle fruit, I'd add some grated apple with it for a bit of flavour and mix in olive oil. So that was a kind of coleslaw.
But most days I'm too tired to bother grating and mixing, so I just slice up the vegetables I spoke of, add some olive oil to them too (just drizzle some over them) and I eat. I may add some sliced carrot to them too. The least amount of work basically because I'm very tired.
So for sure, I think that was obviously the reason for my liver being in the shape it is. Raw vegetables are the key I believe. Milk thistle helps, it's protective and supportive, but I don't believe it comes close to diet.
Cutting down or eliminating alcohol and smoking or anything else like that will of course help, because any load you can remove from your liver will help it to cope and recover.
I hope that's of some help. Just think raw

Dandelion is real good for your liver. You can probably get an extract if you don't use fresh. Not sure about powdered capsules on that.
the parasite cleanse/liver cleanse, Hulda Clark recipe is an excellent liver rejuvenator. There's a daily cleanse link with olive oil lemon juice and ginger that would probably be helpful for a quick measure also. That link is in the 'liver cleanse is baloney' thread... but it's not baloney it's excellent. Mikey posted that link in there it's in one of his posts.

Coffee enemas help me immensely, I wish I had known about them years ago...they save the day when I have chemo, wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them and NS's Immune Stimulator.

PS, Tracy, just another point. The first place to start is actually the gut in order to heal the liver. A dentist here will not work on his patients until he gets their guts fixed up, so it enables the liver to heal.
If your gut is messed up with yeast and toxins, the liver becomes overloadened and toxins tend to get re-circulated, rather than eliminated.
He starts with diet (no sugar etc), and uses herbal antifungals, plus liver support, selenium, mercury free fish oil etc, and later probiotics. That's hit way of getting the liver functioning better.

Tracy,i have a friend who has cirrosis of the liver, her doc accused her of being an alcoholic, but she never drank in her life. shes been on prescription drugs for cancer for years though. Coffee enemas like sandi says are brilliant, i do 2 a day. make sure you use boiled bottled water and organic coffee. grated carrot with olive oil, lemon juice with each meal is supposed to do good, and drinking some carrot juice is good for the liver, also juiced beetroot. love dawn.

My livers not great, stuffed full of stones. Everyone says Milk thistle is the biz for this, but I found it did not help me. I muscle tested milk thistle and no positive effects showed up which confirmed what I felt, which was it did nothing for me. So I tried Taurine, which I can tell works, and I also muscle tested very well for taurine. For mega Taurine info click here http://www.serve.com/BatonRouge/taurine_chmr.htmWorks good for me.
