My dctor says I dont have any but mine is more based on anxiety adn fears of having things cause sensitivies but I know their is some people out their with real sensitivies like you here and want to know your experience. I know mine is alot of my behaviour as I have alot of fears. never had probs in the past.
how do we test properly for sensitivity? Im scared to get replacements.

I have had allergic reactions to some foods all my life James, especially aome fruits, so I basically never ate them. But 3 years ago after I became ill I seemed to become allergic to so many things, that when I ate I almost had a sort of shock reaction and then was sick. I lost two stone in a amonth. I had to have an Endoscopy cos the Docs thought I had cancer. Especilally alcohol made me very ill, even the tiniest drop. I went to the Breakespeare hospital in London where they are very big all alllergies and they eventually desenstise you through injectins which you eventually have to do at home. I know Ive always been allergic to bananas and when they first injected me with it, cos they start at quite a high dose I couldnt believe it, I got so angry I felt like I wanted to kill someone. To be honest now I still avoid these things, but if theres anything else Im allergic too I dont really know cos I didnt carry on with it. At the moment I think Im allergic to the whole world!

Hi James, I did not notice this issue as a child growing up, though I believe problems were there from the word go. But things became VERY obvious at age 15 and from then on.
I had a horrible adolescence and it all started when metal braces were placed on my teeth. That is when I became a very pale, sickly, messed up person with blurred vision and hyper reactions to skin products, eye drops, perfumes etc.
I had already been metal allergic since a kid, because I reacted with metal jewellery. So I'm sure getting braces compounded this much more, plus the toxicity of the nickel, the galvanic effects of different metals in the same mouth causing a battery type effect and the further uptake of mercury in the process.
From that moment onwards, I became sickly and sensitive and things never really came right.

I didn't know I was sensitive to anything at first, I was just sick all the time. When I found out about the amalgams and that you could have sensitivities to certain things then I realized that I was allergic to many different foods. The way I did it was kept a journal of what I ate where I went ect. I started by cutting out alot of foods and then adding 1 back. If I felt like crap the next day I knew not to mess with that food. Hard lesson to learn. Just recently something was holding up progress and I figured out I am allergic to tomatoes. Since I stopped eating them 2 months ago my stomach has really made progress. Finally starting to heal. I am also allergic to perfumes, i react right away. Can't stand going into Wal-mart or malls, just kills me. I am constantly trying to avoid places like that just because it makes me sick. Hang in there you will get through this. Rachel

James, mercury can also cause irrational fears, obsessive thoughts and you tend to think "inwards" and analysing everything, which is what I tended to do when I got toxic, as well as developing ritualistic behaviours.. part of the territory.
Believe me, when you are not toxic like this, you can't even TRY to be scared or fearful. It just isn't there anymore. The response of fear doesn't occur and you wonder where it went. So I wouldn't feel you are souly responsible, because I felt I was too "at the time".
The way to test for dental materials is quite difficult I think because you can get contradictory results. I found that the more testing? The better, and you can eventually narrow it down to some materials they show to be ok on all tests.
I did the serum test. This is from the Clifford lab in US. They test your blood serum against all the dental materials they have to see if there is any immune response (negative). If not, they will say it is "S" ( "suitable"), if they see a response, they will put "ns" not suitable. The amount of dental materials they test is VAST. You get an entire booklet and they will test you against everything, plastic composites, bonding materials, lining materials, porcelains, braces, metals, the whole deal.
Then from there? You can also get tested on an EAV (or voll machine), by a qualfiied doctor or naturopath who is an accurate operator.
Other testing can be done too, people have their own particular methods. I would go from the serum test and then narrow it down from there if you want more testing done.
The other tests appear to test the energetic response, to see if there is any "blocking" responses etc.
I do not honestly know if any of these tests are for real or a money making scheme... I think they do try, but I'd say none of them is perfect. Something will always be missing or contraditory.
Also, many of these materials share alot of similar chemicals anyway, so one composite to another may not always be so very different.. glass ionomers "may" contain traces of lead, arsenic, fluoride etc. But again all of them have their drawbacks without exception and though you may find some that don't have those, you can bet they'll have something else.
It is very hard to replace amalgam fillings, because take out the mercury you replace it yet again with a foreign material that the body has to deal with 24/7. The best you can do is get one that is hopefully as "benign" as possible...I wish there was an allround perfect material....
Also, the mercury in your system that is still there will cause you to be far more reactive than otherwise. So sometimes you can think it's your replacement materials, but many times it's because the person has not detoxed their stored mercury. Mercury poisoning causes chemical sensitivity too.

I was so out of touch with myself I didn't know what was causing what reactions. It was not untill a visit to the nutritional therapist, she helped me discover what was what. In retrospect I have had these sensitivities/allergies since my teenage years.
And now I can spot it a mile off in other people, for example my family who sneeze &cough after taking a shower with their usual lethal cocktail of shampoos deodrants...etc It is an everday occurance they do not even seem aware. People think this is a normal reaction but it's usually not untill it stops people in their tracks with more prominent symptoms that the majority of people will keep soldiering on.
