Following is a letter that Nina sent to her Dentist. She has given me permission to post it online so others may learn from it and avoid suffering the same fate.

Dr. Dana,

I am writing this letter to inform you of the consequences of my visit to your office which took place on 2/08/05 following a procedure of having two existing Amalgam fillings removed and replaced with new materials.

I walked in that day to your office a reasonably healthy 27 year old weighing at about 127lbs. The procedure that you preformed involved drilling out the two amalgam fillings (It is common knowledge that these unsafe fillings contain mercury.) Thus by drilling the amalgam fillings out you have exposed me to the dangerous vapors of this metal and I have also swallowed trace amounts of particles during this procedure as no special care has been taken to remove these dangerous fillings in a safe manner. Directly following this procedure and the following few months, I had started to experience a number of symptoms that include: insomnia, head pressure, nausea, chest pain, digestive problems, diarrhea, kidney pain, hallucinations, heavy sweats, heart pounding, twitching, fatigue, anxiety and panic attacks, loss of appetite followed by loss of weight (I am currently at 112 lbs). As you can imagine this has greatly impacted my ability to perform any every day functions as well as continue my employment. I have visited numerous doctors who in turn could not find an explanation for these symptoms as I did not appear to suffer from any 'conventional' illness, until I was tested for heavy metal toxicity and found positive.

At this time I ask you that you stop performing this unsafe removal procedure on any patient that come to you for assistance on such a service and to educate yourself and your staff on dangerous of amalgam fillings and consequences of having them removed improperly. I do wonder if you would have preformed the same procedure if your own child was sitting in that chair instead of me that day? I would certainly hope not.

Furthermore, even though you cannot compensate me for over 4 months of misery that I have endured and continue to endure I do ask that you reimburse me for the procedure that you did on that day as well as compensate me for my visit to the ER due to a massive kidney pain I experienced as well as my inability to continue my employment for a period of 30 days.

This is the brief estimate of those costs:

04/03/2005 Visit to the Carrollwood University Hospital ER after insurance: $221
30 day unpaid medical leave: $ 1800
The procedure you charged me for you will be able to find in your records, I believe was in the amount of $108

Finally, I would like to say that it is sad that we live in a day and age where the health industry in United States has become so profit driven, that health of the population has become only secondary motive to perform services. For example, even though your office took no precautions to dispose of my amalgam fillings in safe manner, I was repeatedly asked by your staff weather I wanted to 'buy' your procedure called 'Zoom' that is whitening and bleaching of the teeth and is purely a cosmetic procedure that most human beings do not need for any health benefit. This procedure of $400 was offered to me on more than one occasion even though I clearly had no need or interest to get this done.

I sincerely hope this letter will make you consider that the motives of your office are not entirely ethical and I asked to be reimbursed for the irreversible damage you have done to my health.

Sincerely,

Nina ---

I lived in New Port Richey from July 3 1976 to February 13, 2003; just 20 miles or so north of Tampa.

Loved going to the Royal Thai Palace in Hyde Park for excellent healthy food Thai. Cheesecake factory is good too.

I was in Knoxville, Tennessee a few years ago looking at houses because I was considering moving there and I asked someone if they knew where I could get some Thai food. They said, "Well, there's a Shoney's down the street. I suppose you could wear a tie there."

I think all of us here could probably make one or two tiny weeny alterations to that letter, print it out and send it to our own dentists.

What happened is shocking! appalling actually. For you Nina and also for many of us because we've been through EXACTLY the same thing.

Incorrectly, no I think 'negligent' is a better word... negligently removed amalgams (following NO safety procedure whatsoever) torpedoed my health, my career and my personal life from the age of 20 onwards (I'm 30 now). Looking back I'm proud of myself that I actually managed to keep going as long as I did.

At the moment I'm trying not to think of the cause of it though, as it makes me angry. REALLY REALLY ANGRY.

Steve

Let us know what happens, Nina. I think more people need to speak out about mercury fillings. It took a lot of courage to send it.

Steve, I am kind of in limbo at the moment. I'm finding it hard to believe that my anxiety disorder could be caused by the mercury. Not because I don't believe it could be, but because I accepted a long time ago it was something I was just going to have to live with. The idea that it might get better or even go, wasn't something I ever thought possible. If the fllings did cause it, then it just makes me want to cry or be sick, to think that all my suffering as a child and teen could have been prevented if they had given me some other kind of filling. I can't think about the times I went to the dentist any more as a child, because it makes me feel ill to think of all I was going through, how I changed, and they just kept putting more in. It also hurts to think how ill my mother has been and the impact that has had on my family, and I think the fillings are partly to blame. If they affected me so badly that I got a serious anxiety disorder and fertility problems, then as we have the same genes, it makes sense it accounted for her mental and health problems too.

Perhaps we should compile a list of testimonials and send it to every mercury-using dentist in the country.

I tried to write to my childhood Dentist but he is retired.

I believe that any Dentist is assumed to be intelligent enough to know that mercury is highly toxic. Therefore, in placing it in a human body, he/she should be considered negligent and therefore have cause for legal action against them.

Amazingly, many of the judges in these cases seem to be obscenely biased into allowing the installation of mercury. There are certainly some payoffs transpiring.

Demi,

I completely understand how you feel. Although I never went and got an "official" diagnosis (because I didn't want to take drugs), I'm certain I would have been told I had some kind of anxiety disorder if I had gone to a doctor.

I, too, had nearly resigned myself to just try to learn to "live with it." However, I could only put on a "show" for so long until "the real me (on mercury)" started showing. Strangers or acquaintances didn't know, but the few closer friends I had knew very well how moody, anxious, stressed out and depressed I usually was. It's also interesting to look back and see how anti-social I was...all my life I only had 1 or 2 friends at any given time. I never could get close to people because on the one hand, I was too afraid of rejection, and on the other hand, I was incapable of really being a "friend" to others because I was so wrapped up in my own problems, fears and worries.

But thankfully, now that the mercury is out, I'm becoming a different person. I, too, am a mercury detox success story! Gone are the constant (and I mean constant) worries and fears, gone are the daily multiple mood swings, and gone is the fear of interacting with people. I'm not completely cured yet...I still have an occasional bout of moodiness or mild anxiety, but it's usually directly related to eating fish or eggs or something with cilantro in it, or doing strenuous physical activity.

So yes, Demi, it really is possible to be free of this "bondage" as I call it. Once you get the mercury out, it will be easier to focus on the positive and let go of the past.

I look at it this way now...I would never have chosen to have mercury fillings, but since I did have them, I can use the knowledge and experience I've gained as a result of this "experience" to help other people and to have more compassion for other peoples' behavior. Don't get me wrong, I think everyone, including myself, is personally accountable (responsible) for what we say and do and the outcomes that result. But, I now understand how much mercury affects how people think and act, and with this understanding, I have more compassion and can more gracely respond to others.

I hope this helps in at least some small way.

It helps a lot

I have never had a formal diagnoses either. I had to go to the doctor one time when my anxiety over a particular event in my life was unbearable, but I never had formal OCD diagnosis - like you, I was afraid of the drugs. I learnt to handle it.

I'm a lot what you described. I'm not a very sociable person, I prefer one to one to groups, which overwhelm me. I try not to let my anxiety about things show, but it's not easy and some people have got really annoyed with me because they don't understand I have no control over it. I've never had a boyfriend because in my teens just getting through the day was hard enough, I couldn't think of dating. Also I was too shy to really get to know guys. I have liked someone in recent years, but it wasn't mutual. I also don't really have much sex drive, I guess either due to anxiety or my fertilty problems or both.

Last few months I've been pretty depressed, worrying about things and how to live with constant anxiety, but now at least I have hope, and that is a real boost for me. I can think now about getting well some day (I don't expect it to be immediate) and can now think again about possibilities in life. If I can get my anxiety down then I can think about relationships and maybe marriage, which for so long seemed like something out of my league.

I agree we should take the good from what has happened. Even though my life has been extremely hard at times, I don't know, in all honesty, if I would change it. I think I've grown a lot, learnt more what is important in life, and have learnt compassion on those suffering, aswell as what it's like to be depressed. I look around and see people putting value on real superficial things (in my opinion) and I feel closer to God and his will for humans than maybe I would have had I never had these problems.

A lot of people I've come in communication with, especially on the internet, have said I'm idealistic, unrealistic, romantic etc for what I believe, but given the pain and suffering I have been through, for them to say that actually is a compliment. It shows that I haven't become jaded and bitter, that I still believe in goodness, in the power of love, and have ideals that shape who I am and how I live. I think that morally and spiritually I'm a better person for what I've been through. So, if I can get better mentally and physically, then I might be a better person all round.

I know everyone is different and will have different experiences, but I'd like to encourage you that for both myself and for Russ, the changes were IMMEDIATE. In fact, I honestly believe I felt a difference beginning as soon as the removal was over. It may sound crazy or even hard to believe, but it's true.

For the next 2 days, I felt a type of euphoria I had never known. It was like a huge, crushing weight had been lifted off of me. I was honestly giddy with happiness, and I had NEVER been giddy with happiness before.

Basically, from then on, it's been an overall uphill climb ever since. In the beginning, there were a few "down" days, like after my 3rd DMPS treatment or before I learned I was sensitive to eggs and cilantro.

So, when you get all your fillings removed, it's very possible that you will experience immediate results too. Let's hope and pray for it!

Demi,

I feel the same way in some respects. I would probably not have the depth of character and understanding of human behavior I've gained as a result of much time alone and endless introspection.

Through it, I've become a person that has answers when others don't. All my life, people have come to me when they didn't know what to do and I got a reputation for always knowing what to do. Even in high school, my nickname was "Dad" for this reason. I was a very shy and timid boy who literally had prom queens, popular jocks and some of the most popular people in schoold taking me aside, crying on my shoulder and asking my advice about situations and relationships in their lives.

I believe this is the result (in large part) to the enormous amount of time I spent working through my personal secret depression and suicidal thought; getting to know myself and others in a very deep and methodical way. Through it, I learned so much--that I have somewhat recently discovered--most people don't know, especially about themselves.

Some people say I'm the guy that can get into your head in a 10 minute conversation and make you see things about yourself and think about things you've never considered. I like that. It's good to be a catalyst in this way and I've help my share in deep and personal ways because of it.

Although mercury was the substance of physical cause, I--of course--credit God because I also had a few amazing experiences that were beyond nature; God intervened in my life on several occasions in an immediate and dramatic way. He also--looking back--guided me constantly.

I did realize, however, that He wanted me to heal, be strong and be an example to others about how to overcome and persevere. I have a passion for truth and am a hater of lies because I see the damage they do. Therefore, I am on this forum and all over the Internet spreading the information about how we've been poisoned by a system without conscience. God speaks a lot about "the [world] system" and it's enmity with Truth and the Spirit.

In the past 5 years, (my mercury was removed in July of 2000), my myriad of fears that I lived with most of my life have vanished. I know mercury is to blame as I've also seen studies that basically say that mercury make people fearful and subservient. I have now become an outspoken advocate of truth and thoroughly enjoy boldly yet strategically telling anyone I can start a conversation with about health, life, truth or whatever may benefit them and, of course, do it without being pushy or being thought of as a fanatic. Being unafraid is amazing and like a new lease on life.

I hope you persevere and have the courage and wisdom to recover from this and then help others do the same. I have no doubt the experience you've gained will be valuable for yourself and others, if you let it.

Take care.

Wow, Laura, that's definitely encouraging! I've been putting off getting the fillings done. Partly because I am phobic of the dentist, partly because at the back of my mind there's a niggling doubt that it won't make any difference.

I'm going to definitely aim for next month now and try and get a consultation in the next three weeks I can get to London and back in a day, so I don't have much reason for postponing it

Hi Russ,

I definitely believe that God has lead me to the truth about mercury fillings. I've usually been a very strong person, worked hard at school and college, determined not to let my anxiety get in the way. But last five or six years, I've been feeling really down and increasingly lost the "fight", and just praying to God that I can get through somehow.

It's hard to tell whether it was the root filing, which put a huge chunk of amalgam in my mouth about 7 years ago, or my grandmother's death, but I've lost a lot of enthusiasm and work-drive. I'd say probably a combination of both. I think that God has answered and lead me to this board, and that getting the fillings done will help me get my strength of character back.

I've always been "mature" for my years too, and a few people have said I should have been a psychiatrist.

I'm definitely encouraged now to get the fillings replaced. When you hit the bottom, which is pretty much where I've been the past few years, then the only way up is to take action, even though it can seem like it's a mountain to climb, not a hill. But the hope that I can get the constant anxiety and mind-hiccups to be reduced, is a hope I never thought possible without drugs.

You definitely are a person with answers, and I'm sure everyone here appreciates that you and Laura share your knowledge with us, and not only help us practically, but also give support. It means a lot.

I too have anxiety issue. About three months after my 4 large fillings were placed. It was like I woke up one day and I was mean, freaked out about little things, lost friends, would say things irrirational. The worst was a panic attach while driving home in a snow storm. The last few months I kept thinking my house will be burned to the ground when I get home. However, I had 3 large ones removed last week. The first one was half way out and I felt surge of energy to my legs. When the all 3 were out I felt calmer less of a burden on my body--like energy channels were opened. My husband says I am more agreeable. Pulling up to the house on the way home I didn't even think about the house burning down.

Also my fillings were showing very high number on the electromagnetic field machine test: 420, 270, 170 on scale of 5 to 50. This was the largest I think they have ever seen in the office. These 3 teeth had to have crowns.

Next month I go back for 3 small fillings to be removed. I am hoping my sugar cravings, unstable blood sugar, triedness, low body temps go away.

Sounds like you were in early stages of OCD. I can't remember much of how the condition came about it me, only that my anxiety levels increased gradually from about 9 years old (when I started having fillings) until by the time I was 12 it was beyond reason.

I'd have to go down stairs in the middle of the night to check the cooker wasn't on, that the doors were shut, that there was no water leaking, that everything was okay I'd go upstairs then I'd doubt I'd really checked things well enough, so have to do it again... and again... and again... All the time I was in panic about things and rituals was the only way to help.

I didn't know what was wrong with me, and to be honest I find it hard to believe it was the mercury, but I think that is a part of me being scared to think it is incase the anxiety doesn't go when I have them out. I don't do the rituals now, but I do still have urges to check things and I have many phobias.

Emmalee,

I had all 20 of my fillings removed in 1 appointment, beginning with the quadrant with highest negative voltage, as Hal Huggins recommends in his book It's All In Your Head. After the 3rd quadrant had been removed, like you, I felt a great emotional release, like a burden had been lifted off my chest. I actually had to run to the ladies room because I began sobbing. I wasn't sad or anything, but rather I just felt this surge of emotion that needed to come out and afterwards I felt much better. It was like my body was releasing something.

Also, I wanted to encourage you that after my fillings were removed, my blood sugar problems improved tremendously, with no other intervention on my part. I also seldom have the old "sugar cravings" anymore.

Also, my low body temperature seemed to normalize overnight. I used to freeze all the time, even in 70 degree weather. I also never ever perspired. I might get a little "shine" on my face, but that was usually all. I could play racquetball in the noonday sun in Florida in the summer and not have hardly a drop of sweat. Now that the fillings are out, I can actually perspire.

Plus, my energy levels are amazing now. Before the amalgams were removed, I'd be tired ALL the time, even after sleeping for 8-10 hours. I'd have to take a nap in the middle of the day for at least an hour or more, just to make it through the rest of the day...and all I was doing was typing on the computer...no physical labor or anything that would tire someone out. But now, I work 10-12 hours a day most days. I can sleep 6-7 hours and work a whole day without "crashing" like I used to. It's wonderful!

I'd also recommend Algin to help absorb mercury that may be released from where it's been stored in your tissues. According to Huggins, once the last filling has been removed, that's when most people see a big increase in their urine mercury levels.
