I had some white fillings done years ago when they first came out, just a couple little teeny ones. No problems whatsoever. But then i had some minor cosmetic work done several years ago and I am not real happy with the newer filling materials, my gums are receding a little bit near them. I've read up on it, they have flouride in them so that the flouride leeches slowly into your mouth.. they have uranium in them so that the dentists can see them easily on x-ray.. they use this flowable stuff that I know for sure I am sensitive to... they didn't use all that 25 years ago and nobody uses the old filling stuff because they say it doesn't last but that's not what my mouth says. The old fillings still look great. They used more glass based stuff back then i think. There is other stuff in the new composites that aren't helping me make a decision... I don't really want another dental nightmare.
yes I know I woukld be better off without them but I just lost a tooth needlessly last year from a amalgam replacement done by a dentist a couple years ago... the filling was irritating the tooth just slightly and even though it never bothered me it showed up weird on the xray and the dentist does a needless root canal, which helped to devastate my health etc etc. I had it pulled. The root canal felt like a little antenna in my head plus the <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/censored.gif" alt="" /> dentist filled it with mercury. cost me a lot of money to go through it all, it was so stupid.
I really don't seem to be able to win with the dentists so I will probably just trash the idea of removing the rest. I had a few rear ones pulled. that went well for the most part. If I lose anymore rear molars I will probably just go for a partial that I can wear when i go out for a just afew hours at a time.
The chelating helped me a whiole bunch. everyone says you should never ever chelate with amalgams in. Well I started that with the doctor a couple months before I ever arrived here at this forum and it's a good thing because I would probably still be suffering if I had listened to that advice. It was IV chelation with a great doctor. They did great work with me.
I am definitely allergic to the glues/bonding resins. I got an ulcer on my gum last time they tried that. My lips were burning and turning to parchment in a matter of days... major rashes on my neck... that cost me another $$$400-500 bucks to find out...
yeah, 'get your crap out of my mouth' that was that dentist i had to demand that they remove it they preferred to let me suffer.
