If it is safe to eat 1,000 cans of tuna per day, then why are pregnant women advised against eating any? I am proof positive that tuna can poison you. Back in 1999, I was brain fogged, and found that eating tuna made my symptoms get better for a short period of time. Then I ate more tuna and felt better. So I kept eating it. I had no idea it had mercury and thought maybe the tryptophan in tuna was making me feel better. Well, I ate about 5 cans of tuna per day for about 6 months before I stopped. Two years later I was tested for mercury toxicity through hair, blood, and urine tests. The levels in the hair and the urine though a challenge came up at 7X the acceptable level for a woman of childbearing age. It even continued to show up in my blood just from a regular blood test. And this was two years after I ate the tuna.
So I would not go back to that dentist if I were you. I've been sick ever since. My husband's dentist recently retired. His wife worked in his office as the receptionist for years and now has broca's aphasis - she can no longer speak! You tell me that is not from amalgam vapor in the office all those years. But I'm sure they did not connect the two either.
