Hi there, I think "Nature's Sunshine" is the brand of Algin that seems to be one of the best and is available from herballure (you can see it at the top righthand corner of the page). "algin".

Unlike charcoal, I dont think algin has the issues with absorbing nutrients etc. I am certain it is ok anytime, but you can check with Russ Tanner (owner of the forum). if you like.

Your protective supplements sound great and seems to be the ones that are mentioned as being good to use. But detoxing the mercury itself is a real individual thing. Some find chlorella, cilantro, and other mobilising products can be troublesome and exacerbate symptoms too much (garlic another one). Garlic/chlorella are high in sulfur and some do marvellously on them, but others find they get intolerable symptoms due to mobilising the mercury too much. Depends on how you react.

You may want to look into the Andrew Hall Cutler approach to mercury chelation, which seems to be extremely popular and one that seems very well tolerated by many people. I found it safer, more effective and better tolerated by me when I used it. I found other products like garlic, chlorella, or taking DMSA the wrong way would cause such a wild increase in symptoms, I would often be in a terrible state.

Andrew Cutler's approach works by taking certain chelating agents in such a way as to work by escorting the mercury out of the body without moving it all over the place at the sametime. Basically taking a chelating agent (DMSA ) on a particular time table (e.g. every 4 hours around the clock). This ensures that the DMSA remains at even levels in the blood and can therefore move mercury in more constant, consistent even manner also. Rather than bouncing it all over the place with intermittant doses that cause the movement of mercury to be more unpredictable.

It is really up to the person what they find is the best for them. You can look up Andrew Cutler's mercury chelation on the net if you want to find out more about it. His book is available also on this forum (top left of screen in yellow). So certainly it is popular and well used by many mercury toxic people (on here also).

I did many things to get my mercury out, but didn't know that I could have saved myself a lot of time and agony by using a protocol that was far kinder and more effective. I finally did use Andy's way, but only after a lot of experimenting with other products that caused an unnecessary side effects. His was better for me, still not easy, but better and got me (i believe) on the way much quicker.
