For those who want to use iodine, I just read that you should be taking thyroid supplements with it.......use only when supplementing with thyroid. In some patients Lugol's solution can block thyroid function. Lugol’s is potassium iodide solution used at half strength. It promotes the synthesis of thyroid hormone and increases intra-cellular production of ATP and therefore controls the oxidation rate. Dose: for the cancer patient: 6 drops - 18 drops. Dosage is specific to the amount of thyroid taken Contra-indications -allergy to iodine -in the weakened patient when thyroid is contra-indicated. The Lugol's must always be balanced with the thyroid medication; therefore reduced thyroid also indicates reduced Lugol's. from here.... http://getalife.net.au/cancer/medication_htmlSandi xoxo

Sandy, I'm taking sea kelp every other day, it contains iodine. Should this be a worry for me? I read that mercury depletes your body of iodine. I thought I would add it slowly into my body. My anxiety has almost went away completely since taking it along with barley green.
