I got this from Yahoo FDC from NJ.
The agave is cactus juice….new to me but lovely.
The maca powers is ………..worth “googling”. Hahahahaha….worked for me;-)
i bought these weird ingredients from here http://www.detoxyourworld.com/

The thyroid help comes from both the Maca and the
coconut oil, and apparently almonds are very alkalinizing in the body. I
personally feel considerably better when i'm eating a few of these
cookies a day.

A variation: I think that if you were to use just flour and oats in this
recipe, and omit the nuts, what you would basically have is
'shortbread', so named because there is no leavening or rising agent, it
relies on the oil to do that. Not so good if it is butter or margarine,
but coconut oil is another story, eh? So if anyone prefers oats to nuts
(not me), they might want to try that.

Coconut oil Almond cookies

obviously get organic ingredients whenver you can.

Mix dry ingredients thoroughly in one bowl:
3 cups flour (can be any kind or mixture, such as rice flour, whole
wheat flour, etc)
2 teaspoons sea salt (good for your adrenals)
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
in a blender or such, grind up approximately 2 1/2 cups of a combination
of any of these (unsalted, raw):
almonds, pecans, sunflower seeds (i always use more almonds than the
rest, but i love pecans and have been going for about 1/3 pecans lately.
If you use sunflower seeds, use about 1/3 cup or less raw)
3 heaping Tablespoons Maca powder
1/3 cup maple sugar (if you can't use maple sugar, just add that much
more agave sweetner

Mix wet ingredients thoroughly in another bowl:
1 scant cup coconut oil
1/2 cup agave (can use a little more if you like it sweeter)
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup agave sweetner (this has the best glycemic index around, and you
can really tell)

After both bowls have been mixed separately, pour liquid into dry and
mix with a pastry cutter if you have one, two knives if you don't. Don't
overmix at this point.

Next, you will want to add anywhere from 1/2 cup to 1 cup of cold
liquid, gradually. Ice water is good, but recently i've been using mango
nectar, which is really good. Mix up with the fingers just until you get
a good consistency for drop cookies. Will be very sticky.

Drop about 1 inch balls on a cookie sheet. Then go through and press
them down with your fingers into a cookie shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
This will be their final size as they don't rise. This recipe is very
forgiving, and if they are too wet or dry they'll just be different but
still good. It helps if they are a bit wet and sticky so you can
tap/smooth the edges a bit so they don't burn.

Bake on a med-high shelf at 350 degrees for about 17-20 minutes. You
should check by 15 min to see. They're done when you get a little
browning around the very edges, just barely. Then just scoop em off and
cool them.

This recipe will make about 3 cookie sheets worth, or more if your
sheets are small or how you space your cookies.
I think the taste gets better and better with a little time, although my
son's friends try to steal them right off the cooling plate...
I store in tupperware-style box in the refrigerator, and bring a few out
to room temp also.

Hope you like!
Let me know if you discover any interesting variations...

Hi Sunshine Thanks for that yummy sounds delicious if you like that kind of thing, check out Patrick Holfords cookbooks, all the cakes biscuits are adaptable, allergy free, mostly uses coconut oil, & usually xylitol, if a sweeter needed and he's adapted diets to
be low glycaemic load, this is MUCH more effectve than glycaemic index, and so better for bloodsugar balance etc,
I will post up a few delicious recipes.

Cool, post away. This recipe is worth doing just for the maca powder. I laughed my socks off when I checked it out.

http://www.detoxyourworld.com/cgi-b...HOP=%20&PN=maca%2ehtml%23aF0#aF0

Dr. Malaspina first found out about maca through a group of sexually active older men who were taking the herb with good results. "One of this group started taking maca and found he was able to perform satisfactorily in a sexual relationship with a lady friend. Soon everyone in the group began drinking the powdered maca as a beverage and enjoying the boost that the root was giving their hormonal functions. I have several of these men as patients, and their improvement prompted me to find out more about maca and begin recommending it to my other patients."

----oh yeah! LOL

Aguila Calderon, MD, is the former Dean of the Faculty of Human Medicine at the National University of Federico Villarreal in Lima. He says, "Maca has a lot of easily absorbable calcium, plus magnesium and a fair amount of silica. We are finding it very useful in treating the decalcification of bones in children and adults." In his practice, Dr. Calderon uses maca for male impotence, erectile dysfunction, menopausal symptoms, and general fatigue."

-----oh really! LOL

Chicago physician Gary F Gordon, former President of the American College for Advancement in Medicine, is also a maca supporter. "We all hear rumours about various products like maca," he says. "But using this Peruvian root myself, I personally experienced a significant improvement in erectile tissue response. I call it nature's answer to Viagra. What I see in maca is a means of normalizing our steroid hormones like testosterone, progesterone, and estrogen. Therefore it has the facility to forestall the hormonal changes of aging. It acts on men to restore them to a healthy functional status in which they experience a more active libido."
Urology, a major peer-reviewed medical journal that first published the Viagra study, will publish a study confirming the sex-enhancing effects of an extract of Maca. "This is a significant development in maca research, and a breakthrough for the herbal industry," says Dr David Forrester. "This is a very unusual development for a major medical journal to publish findings on a sex-enhancing herb. Since the release of the drug Viagra, a plethora of supplement companies have marketed herbal products purported to enhance libido and sexual function. But these products have lacked clinical validation. In the study which will appear in the April 2000 issue of Urology, mice fed Maca Root extract exhibited a significant increase in sexual activity when compared to the control group. ...To ensure product safety, a cultivator donated an industry brand extract for oral toxicity testing. The results revealed no toxicity and an absence of adverse pharmacalogic effects. Further in vivo studies showed that the maca extract promotes libido, sexual potency and energy. Animals fed the extract greatly increased their sexual activity, engaging in sex far more frequently than usual."
In Scotland, a natural aphrodisiac being touted as the Female Viagra is being supplied. The liquid extract is said to be of benefit in boosting the libido of both sexes but of particular value to females. Harvested 13,000 feet up in the central Andes, the herb was considered so potent that the Incas confined its use to their royal family. After almost becoming extinct, the plant's properties to improve sex lives and fertility are again being seized on in the wake of the world-wide Viagra craze. From only a few acres of the crop in 1995, there are now 1500 acres with plans to plant a further 5000 acres. The liquid Maca... "fully unlocks the potential of what the Incas called their superfood", say Herbal propionates in Europe, "It's very hot stuff and it's going to be very big as it does not have any side-effects". Apart from increasing sexual stamina and Fertility, its other uses include hormone replacement therapy and the easing of pre-menstrual tension. While some companies are seeking patents on the products derived from Maca, others consider it a gift to the world and offer it without a patent.

My hair tests from 2004-2005 showed I was copper toxic too,
but managed to bring the copper right down with intense supplements &diet, avoiding lots of foods I love.
But now I just eat them when I feel like it.Maybe my copper is gone back up ,but I have no job &no money @the moment to get more tests done.If I could I would get frquent tests &be so interesting to see the levels change as you detox &also show all the sceptics.
According to Andrew Cutler the symptoms of mercury &copper toxicity almost identical.
I also suspect the fillings as a cause of the high copper since I've learned there are higher levels of copper in the amalgams of the last decade or so.

Anyway pumpkin seeds are good instead of nuts, they high in zinc, the enemy of copper.

Iv'e tried Maca before...it is good stuff. About 4 years ago my lymph glands under my arms swelled up and sore, it was awful. At that time I had some herbal pills at the house and they had Maca in them. Really cleared me up quick.

Hi skieslimit & Sunflower.

I think we are on the same wavelength Sunflower I bought 6 x 500g bags of pumpkin seeds yesterday to replace the almond nut butter I can no longer eat. Half price at my health food shop. Stocked up big style now.

I soak my pumpkin seeds over night in salted water. Then bake at low heat 60deg’s for 12-24 hours. This partially sprouts them and activates enzymes and makes them easier to digest. They also taste excellent; they go all crispy and crunchy.
Lindalou recommended a cool book called “nourishing traditions” by sally fallon

I add these to all my salads. I will also make the next batch of the above cookies with them and I will also try to make a nut butter with them too.

Copper high foods:
Organ meats, bone meal, shellfish, salmon, seafood, nuts, almonds, pecans, walnuts, pistachios, wheat germ, wheat bran, barley, oats, avocados, mushrooms, radishes, beets, green leafy veg, corn oil, margarine, yeast, brewers yeast, garlic, blackstrap molasses, oranges, raisins and many types of dried fruit.
AI page 196

Yet more stuff I gotta avoid

pumpkin seeds are like an aphrodisiac,
I'm thinking it's the high zinc.
Can you imagine the maca & pumpkin seed combination?
You could set up a business selling your cookies,Sunshine,

I’m making more of these cookies tomorrow. Last batch where excellent.
This time I dropping the nuts because the high copper and putting in oats.
Now oats are high copper too, but funk it, these are bloody gourmet oats that I got at the farmers market and I love oats, and wasting them seems wrong. I will only put a little in anyway. Pumpkin seeds also going in too.

Errrmmmm….and the maca powder. I’m gonna put double dose in…..
I haven’t told my wife about the added extra benefit yet….

Coming out the otherside of this $hit now. was again really unpleasant. Head is much clearer now. less angry. Less irritated. Now what I’m left with is a crumpled up spine again. Back bloody hurts. Neck hurts. I need straightening out yet again. That is Monday’s and Tuesday’s job before I go on holiday wednesday

I just started researching thyroids and adrenals….something else I know nothing about…..something else I gotta get my head around. I can’t sit at the PC for too long because back hurts too much, so I gotta read books….any they are always thick, heavy duty & long

It's funny, when people ask me how I am I always say ok,or good but if I compare myself to others my age(not gr8 idea)
,I guess I'm not doing too great,I have not been able to work in years because of all the symptoms, but I'm positive that I'm getting better &better,it's only a matter of time &I'll be able to do all the things I want too.I was planning on returning to college last month but deferred for a year instead,&I'm going to work towards that goal...
At the moment I have enough energy to mind myself &my boy
&do the bare mininum possible, and you know,I'm gratefull for that.I'm lucky,I could be so much worse,
and my boy is so wonderful.
Anyhow I'm rambling,
goodnight Sunshine, enjoy the rest of your weekend

It’s good to ramble.

At least you know why u have been feeling so bad.
At least you are doing something about it
At least you will get better eventually
At least you have taken control of yr health
At least you have a wonderful boy
At least you have a goal
At least you have a goal that is achievable
At least you are getting better
At least you are getting better and better
At least its only a matter of time

Looks like you are on top of things pretty good…..

Think of all the poor sods that have no hope of ever getting better, that have exactly the same troubles as you. Think of all the people just progressively getting worse and worse and now knowing what, where, why or who to turn to….. In fact don’t think about, its too disturbing….

You seem well on the road to recovery, but I must admit it’s a long funking journey….

Goodnight Sunflower

I must say these cookies are excellent. They don’t taste that great to other people. My wife and daughter don’t like them, not sweat enough. But……….i don’t eat any junk food, any biscuits, crisps, or anything like that. No treats for me.

So to me, they taste GGGGGREAT! I make them, so I know all the ingredients are safe for me. everything I put in is organic, whole grain, soaked overnight and …….safe!

And these cookies actually make me feel better too. I do have to eat quite a few of them, like 5 or 6 in a day, but defo I feel the effect. I think it’s the maca powder and its special added benefits! My libido is coming back!

Not an instant cure, but a nudge in the right direction.

I have just made my third batch and just eaten about 20 of them…..piping hot straight out of the oven......ummmm

This is funny, this happens me too, when I make some healthy "treats",that I can actually eat, imagine,I get so excited and usually otherpeople not so impressed.Oh well I get them all to myself then!I have my son well trained he gets excited about healthy treats too,my family used to tease me saying I was depriving him!!!Quite the opposite I think.

Yummy

is that film any good? please understand my top 5 films are the star wars films, the terminator films, fight club, fear and lothing in las vegas and pulp fiction.

Happy dayz. Makes me smile to see u having a good day. Yes, I have tried “healer women” too. I tried everything I hear about. Well done for trying something new and it actually worked! Yes, my healer women did reiki on me…..weird stuff….and it worked. Did u see my other post on that experience? Weird and really made me think.

Back to work now, back to my usual self now. Still hurts, but not too bad. I am waiting for the second round 7 days later pain….should be arriving this afternoon or tomorrow…..but it was different this time….so I donno, time will tell.

That salt bath I did rocked big time. Really blasted through the mercury pain. Although maybe it just delayed the pain? I donno. Sometimes I think I just need to ride out the pain, let it do its thing, not disrupt the flow or healing process. I donno. Time will tell.

I love receiving recommendations from others for films and books too, and especially when it comes from the heart. You know what I mean; “wow, this film was amazzzing!”, that kinda recommendation.

I like watching stuff that I would not normally have considered either, and Apocalypto certainly fits that bill. No way would I have picked this film, its not even in English!

I also love not having the faintest idea what the film is about. I never read the back cover, which usually gives you a taster of whats gonna happen. So when I sat down last night to watch this film I had no idea what to expect, none at all. I was expecting a typical Hollywood blockbuster.

And what a cool film, I can see why you loved it, I loved it too. So thanks very much Sunflower, 10/10, I will take more of those kinda recommendations any day of the week

There is also another reason why I enjoyed this film so much. Did you see my post about my first round of DMSA? Did you see I got some colors back? Blue and a little bit of yellow, green and red. Mostly blue. This was the first film I watched with my new eyes! The first film I watched with the new colors back. The first film I watched with more depth perception back. And wow! And double wow! I had to go get my wife over and ask if this film was extra special super doper quality or just what normal films look like? “Nope,” she said….”its just normal…you are finally now able to see things like I do now.”

I can tell you the colors sparkled at me all through the film. I was blown away by the clarity, clearness and the vibrancy of the colors. And they painted the main man blue! Which is the color that has come back the strongest. LOL

So yeah, wow and double wow! Was a wonderful experience, I will probably always remember this film because of the colors thing.

Thanks

I'm happy that you enjoyed the film so much.
I think I can understand about the colours, maybe I have regained colour too,but was not aware of ever losing it in the first place.Whichever it is,the colour in that film is special and vivid &bright and beautiful. If I did lose colour at any stage it was worth it because I fully appreciate and enjoy the wonder of it now! What a beautiful time of the year to get your colour back.
Try going to a garden/park/ forest in the rain or maybe after the rain, if you can,the colours are really vivid ,so amazing.
wow.

I like that "new eyes" I feel I have new eyes in more ways than one.

I was so enraptured in that film I soon forgot I was reading subtitles, and so forgot to mention that !,it's such a powerful film,it may not have needed any subtitles....Same goes for Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, have you seen that?
I think this my favourite film so far.Beautiful.

How are you doing these days,Sunshine?

I am very aware of how bad my colors are, and I really am overjoyed color is coming back. Well, they are not coming back because I never had them in the first place, what do u call that? Now I mentioned this, so many people have said they too have noticed an improvement in what they see. Funny that, why didn’t people say before? Maybe they did and I wasn’t listening?
I seem to be very sensitive. I seem to be noticing so many little things that others took a long time to see. I was at my osteopath yesterday, she did some deep tissue stuff on my lower back and I mean real deep. 45 mins just on my lower back, she could never have done that before. Within 5 mins of her getting heavy I noticed the toxins coming out and giving me a headache. I told her and she was amazed I could feel it so quick. 3 glasses of water afterwards and I literally felt the headache fade away to nothing in 10 mins…..i guess this is a good thing.

Yeah, was a wonderful film and and a wonderful reintroduction to colors.
You did well not to mention the sub titles….i would not have got it!

How am I?
How am I?
How am I?
How am I?
How am I?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Right now! funk! Today is the third week anniversary of me getting my amalgams out…..and in the last 1 hour I have become ANGRY, FRUSTRATED, IRRITATED and I can’t think straight, heartburn coming back and I want to SHOUT!

But it will pass. It always does eventually. But right now I feel funking low. Think I will have a detox bath now. salt or Epsom salt? Don’t know which yet.

Overall I’m doing really well, however right now I feel like a sack o $hit.

I will come back here and tell u properly how I’m doing when this $hit has passed.

Cool post on the cannabis thread. You and me are peas out the same pod, LOL. I will reply there too when I come back.

I am too bloody sensitive ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

You have to let the force be with you.

It goes something like this...

I am the heart he is the hearbeat.
I am the eyes he is the sight and I see clearly
I am just this body he is the life.

um hm.

HI Sos. As ever you make me smile

See my last post…all was fine, then half way through…..BOOOM!.....hard and fast that came on. Hard and fast! Ouch! You can see the post is in two halfs…top I’m fine, halfway down……BOOOM! Funked up.

I had a salt bath. Very good it was too, but I forgot, in my anger, to drink enough water, so I awoke 2 hours too early with a blinding headache! Lovely!

I feel fine now.

May the force be with you Sos
