Speaker Nancy Pelosi Turns The Homo-Transgender Movement Loose

On 50 Democrats On ENDA

In an effort to gain passage of Barney Frank’s Employment Non-Discrimination Act Of 2007 (ENDA), Rep. Pelosi has urged homo-transgender activists to bombard the offices of 50 Democrats who refuse to make cross-dressers, transsexuals, drag queens and she-males as federally-protected classes.

By Andrea S. Lafferty

Executive Director, Traditional Values Coalition

October 5, 2007 – Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-MoveOn.org) has just worked out a deal with homosexual legislator Barney Frank (D-MoveOn.org) to gain passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).

It has been drama-rama in Congress and in the Education Committee for the last three to four weeks. I have never seen this type of confusion in all my years working on the Hill; this is unprecedented. The Democrats know they don’t have the votes to pass ENDA out of the Committee or on the Floor. The Democrats kept scheduling and canceling the ENDA mark up (this a process of amending the bill and voting it out of the committee).

Finally, Pelosi, who does the bidding of her homosexual constituency in San Francisco, pulled Frank’s ENDA bill that includes “gender identity” as a protected minority group.

Why? Because she has given the homo-transgender movement approximately 30 days to browbeat Democrats into voting for a version of ENDA that includes federal protected status for cross-dressers, drag queens, she-males and transsexuals. She doesn’t want this bill to lose in the House because she owes the homosexual-transgender movement too much.

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has promised to unleash 700,000 homosexual-drag queen/she-male activists upon Congress during the next two weeks in order to gain passage of Frank’s “gender identity”-inclusive version.

In the meantime, Frank has introduced two versions of ENDA. One version removed “gender identity” and included a watered-down religious exemption section designed to buy votes from religious Democrats who feared religious persecution from ENDA.

The second is simply his original bill, H.R. 2015.

The San Francisco Chronicle (October 2, 2007) reported on this ongoing drama-rama among Democrats – many of whom appear confused over which constituency to obey. Do they represent their home districts or the homo-transgender activists who seem to be controlling both Pelosi and Frank?

The House Should Reject Both ENDA Versions

TVC’s Special Report on H.R. 2015 explains why the Frank/Pelosi version of ENDA should be defeated. Read this report and email a copy to your U.S. Representative: CapWiz.

The ENDA version without “gender identity” and a watered down religious exemption is still a bad bill. It must be defeated. Here are reasons why:

[*]

It still contains the words “actual or perceived” in defining sexual orientation. The inclusion of the word “perceived” is a far broader protection than provided for African-Americans, women, and people of faith under the landmark civil rights legislation, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

[*]

The word “perceived” also expands the definition of “sexual orientation” to include a whole range of bizarre sexual behaviors. The American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) lists 30 such sexual behaviors or orientations.

[*]

It still contains provisions forcing businesses and religious institutions to deal with transgendered individuals in shared facilities like restrooms and showers. It also includes the language about grooming standards.

[*]

It contains a religious exemption section, but this section could prove to be more dangerous than the language in the old H.R. 2015 (now H.R. 3686). The new language defines a religious organization as a religious corporation, association, or society; or a school, college, university or other educational institution – if the institution is wholly or substantially controlled, managed, owned, supported by a religious corporation, association or society; or the curriculum is directed toward the propagation of a religion.

[*]

The religious exemption still threatens faith-based entities that do not qualify as a religious organization or are under the control of one. Substantial litigation will result because entities will be sued over whether or not they are religious corporations, associations or societies. Lawsuits will also result over what constitutes the “propagation of religion.”

[*]

Independently-operated Christian day care centers, schools, nursing homes, publishing companies, and advocacy groups would be forced to hire or accommodate homosexuals or anyone “perceived” to have a sexual orientation that could include the 30 bizarre behaviors listed by the DSM.

[*]

Under this version, employers would face increased liability under a far wider range of circumstances than most employers are likely to anticipate.

Conclusion

Pelosi, Frank and their homo-transgender allies are hoping to force these 50 plus Democrats to vote for the gender identity-inclusive ENDA, but they’ll be satisfied with passage of the second version because it still gives them what they want – but not as explicitly as does the gender identity language.

If Pelosi, Frank and company are successful in getting passage of either of these bills, they should be rejected by the Senate. Failing that, we will appeal to President Bush to veto either bill when it comes to his desk for signing.

As we have stated before, sexual orientations and gender identity are thoughts and feelings that can change over time. They involve behaviors that include cross-dressing, having so-called sex change operations, and sexual activities that repulse most Americans and that frequently result in deadly diseases and death. Behaviors and thoughts do not deserve the same legal protection under our Civil Rights laws as do immutable characteristics such as race! To equate homosexual intercourse, sex changes or cross-dressing to a minority group is to spit in the face of every persecuted minority in America. African-Americans, especially, should be outraged by this hijacking of their hard fought civil rights gains.

TVC Chairman Rev. Louis P. Sheldon has been thanked by numerous members of Congress and their staffers for taking a key leadership role in fighting passage of any version of ENDA. We need your prayers and financial help to continue this battle. We can win this – but only with your faithful prayers and giving!

TAKE ACTION: Contact your U.S. Representative and ask that they vote NO on ANY version of ENDA when they come to the floor for a vote: CapWiz

Dear Congressman:

I am opposed to passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). I urge you to vote NO on any version of ENDA proposed by Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) or Speaker of the House Pelosi.

I believe that HR 3685 is no better than the previous version (H.R. 2015/H.R. 3686).

This new version still contains questionable language about religious institutions that will violate religious freedom and freedom of association. This "gender identity”-free bill will still force religious employers of independent Christian schools and colleges, for example, to hire homosexuals, bisexuals and whatever else.

ENDA still contains Trojan Horse language about “real or perceived” sexual orientations. The word “perceived” can still be used by the cross-dressing/transsexual lobby to claim protection under ENDA. "Perceived” also opens up the possibility that every form of sexual abnormality could be protected, including incest, voyeurism, and other disordered behavior. The American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic & Statistical Manual Of Mental Disorders (DSM) lists 30 such sexual orientations that would still be covered under H.R. 3685.

The words ‘real or perceived’ will provide homosexuals and other disordered sexual behaviors with even greater legal protections than legitimate minority groups under federal civil rights laws. A disordered sexual behavior that is changeable should not be given federally-protected minority status.

Vote NO on ENDA when it comes to the floor for a vote.

Sincerely,
