Does anyone know if there is any way of getting financial help to replace fillings in the UK? I have dental insurance, but it doesn't cover any treatment planned before it was taken out. I'm not hopeful there is anyway of getting help, but thought it's worth an ask.

This is not really an answer for you, but I thought I'd pass on that the Jigsaw Foundation has closed down in the US. This charity raised money to enable people to have their amalgams removed. Shame. http://www.patsullivan.com/blog/health/index.htmlScroll down a bit to read why. Hope you find a solution Demi. Nicola

Hi Dawn. I don't know if they need to know about it, but my worry is they would find out i.e. do a random spot check etc and find out I planned on replacement before I took out the insurance. They say plainly they won't cover work planned before the cover was taken out.
Hope you are feeling better.

Demi, yes i suppose if you were having alot of work done it would look suspicious, what i would do is one thing at a time like a filling or 2 every 3 months over the year. you would be safe that way, especially if you did one at a time. i know people who have done this with no problem. Dawn xx
