All right, I think Tracy and Jinx understand the consequences of their posts and they have actually apologised, which is a pretty uncommon thing on forums in my experience. Why don't we leave it at that.

I do want both of you to be well and I hope you will continue to work towards that. I haven't been upset by your posts as such, just concerned about you.

I know how it can feel like everything is piling up on top of you but I would like to suggest that perhaps venting can be counterproductive. It stirs up a lot of energy, overworks the adrenals, and encourages a person to let the emotions take over. Sort of like what happens in fight-or-flight. I know it can be very, very hard; but if you can try to start accepting what is happening to you, and dealing with it, you will find that this in itself helps to make things easier.

Accepting it doesn't mean that it is fair, or that you're happy about it, or that you're not going to do anything about it. But it does mean saying to yourself yes, this is the way it is, and I have to work with that. It's how the people on my withdrawal and recovery list learn to get through withdrawal and also to deal with the damage the drugs have done, which sometimes is permanent. They've taught me that our emotions are there to guide us in very useful ways, but that we are the ones in control of them. They do not have to control us.

Why not try to find one activity you enjoy that you are capable of actually doing at the moment. Or do something to get your mind off your trouobles. Try to calm yourselves down and let the adrenaline subside. Then you can start to think about what you will do next to address the problems you are having.

Hope this helps,
Linda.
