I just heard about the explosions in the London subway system. Seems this might be associated with the decision concerning the olympics.
If you're in the London area, please let us know what's happening.
Thank you.

It's chaos in London right now. They're not telling us much. First we hear there are 6 bombs gone off, now 7, but only 4 have been confirmed as bombs. They've blow up at least 5 underground stations and one bus.
Al Quada (spelling) group has claimed responsibility but it's not been confirmed.
They say hundreds have been injured, some seriously, and others still trapped in the stations in Kings Cross. How many dead, we don't know, and won't for a while.
This is apparently a very well organized and carried out terrorist attack on the public transport system, which has been a threat for a long time since Iraq War.
They have sealed off Buckingham Palace. Tony Blair is going to London from Edinburgh and has made a speech. All emergency services are at the scene and the rescue operation is going with success.
Some really disturbing scenes.

I'm in Boston but my son is in London (he's 22) attending London School of Economics (master's degree). I woke up this morning and turned on the TV and then panicked until I heard from him that he was okay. After that, I went to my doctor's appt. and asked him when he thought that amalgams would stop being placed in people's mouths and he said he thought 10-20 years from now (How sad!)
My prayers are with all the victims and their families.

Demi, Nina, Egan, Elaine and our other friends in the U.K.,
We'll definitely be praying for you and your families and friends. I hope they find out that the injuries are minimal and few.
What an awful thing to happen to a country with some of the nicest, kindest people I've ever talked to.
Please keep us posted and let us know you are all okay.

Hey! Nina and I aren't in the U.K., though we're now on the European continent so the news is -- relatively -- local for us.
Thanks for thinking of us though.
Despite the tragedy, it seems as though it could have been far worse. I wonder if the incident really has any relation to the Olympics, though, considering how quickly it happened. The timing could be just a cooincidence. I would imagine a setup like bombing the London tube requires more than 24 hours, but who knows! I'm just guessing.
I was very sorry to hear what happened and will be following the news closely.
