Hi Steve,
I found all that very interesting. I can't comment on the science as this is all very new to me, but I can comment on a couple of things.
I only have 5 amalgam fillings (one root) and I definitely believe I have symptoms of poisoning - mainly anxiety, light sensitivity, candida and tinnitus (sp).
Interesting what you say about the environment. I live next to a factory. What they make there, I don't know, but they do release some vapours into the air. I doubt it's mercury because I don't think they would be allowed to release it in a residential area - or maybe they would. But I don't think they deal with mercury. We do have some crematoriums in the area, though. But I wouldn't be surprised it I get some metal and other bad chemicals into me from where I live.
I'm a vegetarian so I don't eat fish. I do live by the sea, though, and it's not a very good sea, so I don't know if I breathe in vapours of mercury. I had fish when I was younger, but only once a week.
There is also a hospital very close, and I don't know what they release into the air. Also there are some busy roads around here.
Environment is definitely an issue that should be taken more seriously.
I remember when I had the fillings put in as a kid, there would always be a metallic taste in my mouth for a whiie afterwards. I hated it. One time I chewed on some foil and it caused like "shocks", which I didn't understand at the time. I also had braces, and friction of metal can't have helped. And I'm sure I've swallowed pieces of filling - I've had at least one fall out and then replaced (with more amalgam) over the years.
