I've read somewheres that mercury hides behind lead. Does anyone know more about this and if it is true? I even spoke to a ND that said until you get the lead out mercury won't come out as easily?
Is this true? Is there something to the old saying..... "Get the Lead out"???? Thanks

Mercury hides behind lead and other metals, like aluminium, antimony. It messes up the body's normal detoxification pathways, so your body holds onto abnormal levels of other metals as well. This is called retention toxicity. The idea is to get rid of the mercury, and the other metals will come out. They come out in different orders - I think DMSA will pull lead before it pulls mercury for example. So you need to chelate for long enough to deal with all metals.
My latest hair analysis showed low mercury and high antimony, my son's showed low mercury and high aluminium. These are all signs of retention toxicity caused by high mercury which doesn't show up on the hair analysis.

Imgeha, do you have any references you could provide me with, either books or websites. I've just had a hair analysis and it seems my antimony is high. It came back as 0.048 and the ref range should be <=0.016 Mercury said 0.23 and the ref range was <1.32

Hair analysis does'nt give an accurate reflection of the levels of mercury and other metals in the body.

My hair test showed little to no heavy metals, but my dmsa challange urine test showed high lead, aluminum, and significant arsenic and cadmium. Some people excrete it better than others.
