The truth as far as I see it, and I could be totally wrong.
They don't get that far. They see you for 5 minutes. They run tests, but they come out pretty much normal. They have not been taught these things in school. So they run down the symptom road. You have IBS or GERD, you have skin problems, you have headaches, you have sleep problems - but without 2 or 3 hours with you, they will never know what is happening. Finally, when you come in with anxiety from devastating conditions, they will magically decide "My God, you have a mental condition" - and the sales rep who left 2 minutes ago says our Paxil will fix that for you.
My humble opinion, I thought maybe that would be a good idea - take whatever they offer. But something inside of me said no way - I will not take something I have read about that has caused major problems in some people.
When I was going through this, I knew personally it was not possible that I could start feeling anxiety attacks in a mall I happily shopped in/went to for 18 years before. It did not make any sense. Has anyone else experienced this? Where you just started feeling so bad you could not stand it? That, to me, is the point of toxic overload - your system just could not handle it any more.
