From the sound of it, Bex, you ARE on the Paleo diet LOL. I am not on it technically myself. You're not supposed to have dairy at all, but I have butter, raw milk cheese, and sometimes yogurt. (The cultured dairy products get rid of a lot of the lactose content.) I also use Tamari soy sauce, which has been properly fermented to remove many of the horrible things in raw soy.

BTW there's a link in this thread to a site run by people in the "school" of Loren Cordain. He and Sally Fallon and Mary Enig have got into some bitter arguments and don't like each other very much LOL. It's worth looking at both sides because I feel that each has something to offer; I've read books by both.

Cordain seems to think that Paleo should be low-fat because most game meat is very low-fat, to put it very simply. He tells people to eat lean white chicken or turkey meat, to trim the fat off other kinds of meat, etc. Then to drizzle a little flaxseed oil over things. If I ate like that I'd want to pull my hair out. I think Fallon and Enig perhaps know their fats a little better. It's quite an interesting controversy if you ever want to look into it.
