Word of warning. Two people apparently committed suicide from a doctor putting them on NAC to chelate mercury (high doses). This is what I heard on another forum. I can't verify this though but it's a huge concern if this was so.
NAC can be really helpful for people because of the way it increases glutathione, but it can also wildly mobilise mercury (as can cysteine/methionine). This is why it can cause a tremendous reaction in certain mercury toxic people.
It depends on what you can tolerate. The way to try would be low doses and see how it goes. High doses maybe asking for trouble.
It is very good for the liver, but again if you're going to try it, go easy on it. As with anything that can cause a mobilising of mercury, if it's used randomly and in a high dose, the person could end up with such awful backfire symptoms that they may end up very sick and suicidal (as I have many many times). Or it could really help you.
One guy here "sunshine" tried it and said it gave him awful symptoms. He's never using it again. Thank goodness he got the warning beforehand, or he may have tried much higher doses of it.

I had alot of amalgams and took NAC and I havnt had any symptoms or suide effects...I actually felt my head fog to clear up and I also supplemented with ALA which is meant to be avoided but I didnt know at the time as they dont state it on the products and the people who work at the health store said no you dont need to worry about it if you have amalgams.
But be careful because if its tru wat bex says than PLEASE stop it if you feel worse.

thanks. i'm over eager to try ALA. but it's been less than a month since my amalgams have been out. and my liver sucks. do those nano chlorella stuff work well in getting mercury out of the organs? i bought some magnetic clay, because i don't want to take to many things orally, but i don't know if it would be effective...

We are all different, it is kind of trial and error for us all...I used NAC with no problem at all.
Just always start out slowly with whatever chelation you try.
Best luck, Sandi xoxo

I had a slight reaction to it when starting, but I take it 4 times a day now with no problems.

Yeah, it seems to be one of those things that can do so much good, but has that risk attached to it with mercury...just depends on your personal response.
Good to hear you guys are doing well in taking it.
