Word of warning. Two people apparently committed suicide from a doctor putting them on NAC to chelate mercury (high doses). This is what I heard on another forum. I can't verify this though but it's a huge concern if this was so.
NAC can be really helpful for people because of the way it increases glutathione, but it can also wildly mobilise mercury (as can cysteine/methionine). This is why it can cause a tremendous reaction in certain mercury toxic people.
It depends on what you can tolerate. The way to try would be low doses and see how it goes. High doses maybe asking for trouble.
It is very good for the liver, but again if you're going to try it, go easy on it. As with anything that can cause a mobilising of mercury, if it's used randomly and in a high dose, the person could end up with such awful backfire symptoms that they may end up very sick and suicidal (as I have many many times). Or it could really help you.
One guy here "sunshine" tried it and said it gave him awful symptoms. He's never using it again. Thank goodness he got the warning beforehand, or he may have tried much higher doses of it.
