I love science.
As a kid, I wanted to be a chemist and had a chemistry set. I then wanted to be a geologist and went to rock quarries and attained a nice rock collection. I then wanted to be a botanist and grew mosses, cacti, and exotic plants in my room. Then I became very interested in astronomy and began collecting pictures of galaxies (Hale Observatory was my favorite!) by saving my lunch money and making copies of these pictures in the Rockville (Maryland) library. I learned the names of all U.S. rockets (and a few foreign ones), and most modern military jets. Over time, I accumulated a stack of photocopies (mostly from lunch money) that was several inches thick. I also loved physics and the idea of alternative energy sources and finally electronics, which I ended up getting a degree and license in.
I love science.
Through a course of events in my life, I eventually started studying the Bible. I was a little put off at first because this guy Christ seemed to be a little arrogant to me. But as I studied on (I try hard not to let my emotions get in the way of my research) I found that Christ had a strong case and plenty of evidence to make the claims that He did. In fact, I found so much evidence supporting the Bible that I was astounded that more people didn't see what I was seeing.
Through my involvement with politics and working closely with the author of the book "Cheque Mate: The Game of Princes" (I have a signed galley copy) I discovered that most people don't want the truth and don't care about evidence. Mainstream only really wants comfort, pleasure, escape, pride, and sitcoms and none of these lead to truth.
Now, after becoming studied in a few subjects relating to history, law, the Bible, certain sciences, and other related subjects, I have learned an important truth about people, and this is that people are basically selfish and want what they want regardless of the consequences to others.
This saddened me to learn this, and as a natural-born skeptic, it took a long time for me to accept, as did the BIble. But perseverance is one of my strong points (I am a survivor) and now I understand how the world works and where it is going.
Through all of this information collecting and collating, I learned many things, including an interesting thing that I came across around 1990. I learned that our (U.S.) money would eventually turn orange (There will eventually be 3 primary currency colors in the world).
I received some ridicule about this claim for quite a few years. Now that it is happening, it's not funny anymore to those who used to make fun.
It's good to be skeptical. It's also good to persevere despite skepticism.
I love science.
I love it because I love truth and science is simply a process used to search out, find and establish truth.
[i]"And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."[i]
